View 4 RepliesI have recently build a new system , windows 7 ultimate x64 and purchased a microsoft natural ergonomic desktop 7000 keyboard and mouse to use with it , I started it up yesterday for the first time , installed windows useing a wired key/mouse , upon completion shut down and restarted with the USB reciver in place , both worked fine , I then shut down and moved the PC into my office where it was to be used , fired it up , didn't work , tried instaling the drivers no joy , reseting , change batteries , no luck (strange thing though when i install the batteries the battery light glows for a few seconds then fades out , that is on both the mouse and keyboard )I then did a reinstall of windows 7 downloaded & installed the latest x64 drivers but nothing , I have tried it on my other PC (WINDOWS XP SP3) Nothing , i also took the pc back to the other room thinking there may have been interferance from the router etc , but the same nothing .
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've just recently purchased a generic wireless mouse from eBay. more specifically, this one: 2.4GHz USB Receiver Wireless Optical Mouse F PC Laptop | eBay it doesn't work. I'm running Windows 7 64bit and it started installing the drivers, first it was installing "HID Wireless Mouse", then it switched to "USB Input Device" but failed after 3 seconds. now it's listed in Device Manager as "USB Input Device" with yellow sign that indicates it doesn't work. I tested it in 2 other Windows 7 32bit computers and it works just fine! installing drivers and everything. moreover - I testes my bro's logitech wireless mouse on my 64bit Windows 7 computer and it works fine. I think Windows fails on recognizing it. I mean the drivers are there.. the Logitech Mouse works but mine doesn't.. how do I make it work?

Lately I have been having an annoying problem with my wireless mouse. For some reason the pointer will lag, and be very sluggish and jumpy. I've had this mouse on this computer for about a year and I've had no problem. Out of nowhere this problem is happening. I've tried re installing drivers with no luck. I tried uninstalling intellipoint and re-installing it, but when I tried I got the BSOD, and then it completely disabled my mouse and keyboard so I had to use wired peripherals to go in to safe mode and do a system restore. Now everything is working again, except my mouse is still jumpy.

It must be Windows 7 because if I log in Xp to Xp it works. I tried another Win 7 PC to XP-Pro same thing!
I have an HP Pavilion Desktop running Windows 7 Ultimate (AMD processor). Started working this morning and my Logitech USB wireless mouse didn't work. Tried it in another computer and it worked fine. Got a message when I plugged in the dongle that said "one of the USB devices attached to this computer malfunctioned and the computer does not recognize it." I talked to both HP and Logitech. I updated the Logitech drivers (Setpoint 6.20), but that didn't help. HP wants me to do a system restore, which I am loathe to do (the last time it totally trashed my computer).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI do not understand this. I've been buying and returning 'defective' wireless devices for my media center for the last few months. I bought a logitech wireless mouse (v220) a few days ago and it works on my E6410, E6510, Thinkpad T500, NC6230, and custom amd gaming machine. However, on the machine it is intended for use on, it does not work. It seems to work fine (as far as I can tell) in windows. In media center, bridge, firefox, ect... it just doesn't work. You move the mouse, nothing happens, or it moves very spotty.

I tried the FN + F9 and it disables the touch pad and I do it again and it enables the touch pad but not the mouse does nothing the my problem.

View 8 Replies View RelatedShortly after installing the latest intellipoint drivers suggested by Windows 7 along with several other updates from windows update, my Microsoft Keyboard stopped working after windows boots up. The mouse works fine but the keyboard does not.The keyboard doesn't respond AFTER windows starts but works fine in BIOS. I can boot to safe mode using F8 but then the keyboard stops working once Windows prompts me to logon.I can even use the sleep mode button on an alternate keyboard (Logitech) I tried later just to debug the problem to put the computer to sleep but the keys to log on aren't responsive. The computer succesfully restarted a few times after installting the updates so it may not directly be related to the windows updates. Either way, it didn't happen on next bootup.
-I tried all my system restore points and that did not work,
-I tried the "on-screen" keyboard just to get past the logon, but it does not pop up. I can get it to pop up in another installation of windows 7 on the same computer.
- I tried the keyboard on a separate (new) installation of Windows 7 on the same computer and it does work fine, but that doesn't solve the problem. Also the "on-screen" keyboard works fine in the new installation.
-I've tried going into BIOS and setting num-lock boot to on (I don't know why but someone suggested this might work for a similar problem) but it didn't work for me.
- I've also tried a few BIOS options that look like they might make a difference like legacy USB 3.0 support but that did not work.
- different USB ports 2.0 or 3.0 for the receiver combo do not make a difference.
Also a clean re-install is not an option for me because the licenses used for Windows and MS Office won't allow another install.I can get to a dos prompt or access the non-working windows 7 drive and files with dual-boot, but I need to get back to access that installation. Is there a way to manually reinstall the drivers via DOS, the other partition, or some other solution that might work?

recently my computer was acting up and would not startup past the "windows is starting up" screen. I really wanted to play a bunch of games I just bought so I kept occasionally getting it to work in "last known good configuration". Safe mode didn't work and eventually I ran a disc I have no idea what it's called but it said soldierx on the screen and ran like 8 virus scans and did a bunch of tests on my comp, apparently geeksquad uses it. Anyways it removed 3120 spyware, but right before I decided to run this the only reason I decided to was because my keyboard and mouse stopped working. It works in the bios and anything before I actually get to my desktop, lights up and everything, even the keyboard shortcuts work such as windows search, but I can't move my mouse or do anything with my keyboard. I ran startup repair and it says that windows can't automatically fix the problem, had my dad do some pin reset thing where you do something with the battery and move pin 1 to 2 and 2 to three or something like that and didn't work, the bios has ps/2 enabled and legacy something enabled which I read could be the problem, and I have no restore points.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI usually plug the receiver into a certain USB port on my laptop (HP HDX-18t, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit) and the mouse works fine. After a while, from an hour to several hours, the mouse pointer will become jumpy and then become completely unresponsive. When that happens, the power light on the receiver is no longer lit. Then I have to disconnect the receiver and plug it into another USB slot. The mouse will begin to work again, but then the same failure occurs. Then I repeat this over and over, "chasing" the ports until I finally plug the receiver into the first USB port again.
I should also mention that when the failure occurs the first time, if I disconnect the receiver and then plug it back into the same slot, I get a "device not recognized" notification in the system tray. This error never occurs with other ports, only the first. Also, I can immediately connect some other USB device to the port(s) the the receiver failed on and they'll work fine.

I'm running Windows 7 ver 6.1 build 7600. The previews work and it works when the mouse is unplugged-- any way to fix this problem?
I'm used to periodic lapses when Windows forgets that I have a Bluetooth mouse & keyboard but today's behaviour was really weird.
Fortunately I keep a wired mouse and keyboard strategically hidden just in case.
I just booted into Windows 7 and noticed on the log-on screen that the mouse was behaving erratically - would judder around the screen rather than glide.
Anyway I uninstalled it once I'd booted up and went to reinstall it. It worked but Windows asked for a restart. This had never ever happened before. It even asked for the WEI to be refreshed! I've checked and I can't see anything different driver-wise. I've gone through the motions of uninstalling/reinstalling mouse and keyboard dozens of times but never had this happen.
Comments anyone?
Running Win 7 64 bit on a Dell laptop. Previously had an older MS wireless mouse that worked fine. Went to upgrade to IE 9, and the mouse quit working. After repeated tries at un-connecting/re-connecting the USB, restarting computer, all met with failure. The system still does not recognize the device in the USB port. Have tried other ports as well with same result.
Being an older wireless mouse, went and purchased a newer HP optical wireless mouse. No driver included to install (no software at all). Same results in each port tried (3 in total) as the previous mouse. Device not recognized and not installed. Plug and play is on per what I can find in the system. New batteries were tried for both devices. Placing the mouse and receiver in different distances between while hitting the 'connect' buttons did no change.
Verified the new mouse is on the compatibility list for Win 7 64bit. Tried running the troubleshooter but it takes me continuously to the device page telling me the device is not recognized and not installed. Tried a system restore to yesterday, before I did the IE 9 upgrade/install (via online). Noticed System Restore said 2 windows updates were done at the time I did the IE upgrade. Completed system restore - no change for either mouse after trying all the above again, with system restarts as well.
