Having gone through all the setting up processes, my system will not produce Minidump Files, an SCSI miniport is mentioned as part of the production process, yet I have searched my system and cannot find one.

Can W/7 install to a SCSI drive without the driver installation (F6)? I'm just about to install W7, and it seems to detect all 3 SCSI drives without the driver for the LSI 1030 Ultra SCSI adapter.
I'm just a little surprised how simple this is, usually you have to supply the additional driver...
I am trying to install drivers for an Adaptec AHA-2940 SCSI card.
The adaptec website there is no 64 bit version available, but i have been reading around for solutions with no success.
I need the "Adaptec AIC-7870 PCI SCSI Controller" ... but there is no 64 bit version for that. When i try to install the drivers (there is no installer program, i just need to use the update drivers feature of windows) it says that it is not a 64 bit version so i can't use it.
Is there any solution to my problem?
Anyone have working driver for this scsi card, i like this, and this can working good for my Umax 1220s flatbed scanner

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been reading about issues with people having problems with their SSD's not being reconized by Windows 7 Ultimate.but my WD 600gig STAT III Raptor is listed as a SCSI as well. I assume the problem is with my Marvell Driver.I bought this 60gig OCZ Vertex 3 SATA III drive for a Boot drive and had a pain installing drivers for it on a clean install of windows. I plugged it, and my WD Raptor both into the 2 SATA III ports that I have on my ASUS Rampage III MB. I set the Drives to ACHI not IDE. Tried to install Windows, had to force windows to accept the Marvell Drivers...but finally got it installed.Now Im stuck with the OCZ SSD and the Raptor both at SCSI speeds...not able to get them reconized my Windows 7 Ult as SATA drives.Should I try uninstalling the Marvell and JBMicron drivers and let Windows try and install drivers that will work? Funny thing is, I know that windows is reconizing the SSD as a SSD because of the Disk Defrag has been disabled on it...and was able to get some info off the drive via Intels SSD toolbox....OCZ's tool box wont reconize it unless you use Windows drivers. I had to install the Marvell Drivers to install Windows, Windows wouldn't reconize either drive plugged into the SATA III ports.I've tried bout everything, even tried the reg. fix via the Windows Helper with no luck.

I have win xp and want to upgrade to Win 7 x64.I know this requires a clean install.My question is, if I have programs loaded on other drives, can I reestablish paths to those programs via Win 7 without having to reinstall the programs? I understand that any programs on the same drive as the OS will need to be reloaded.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of old SCSI slide scanners and SCSI cards I use in (real) 32-bit XP, that no 64 bit drivers exist for. So I haven't been able to get them to work in Windows 7.
Is there any hope of getting them to work via Windows XP Mode in Windows 7? My impression scanning posts here is that this won't work, as I need real XP to talk to real SCSI cards with real drivers, and the virtual/emulated environment won't acommodate this.
I picked up a VT capable processor, hoping to try all this out, but now I find my Windows 7 RC eval setup can't load the RTM Windows XP Mode and Virtual PC software, so I'm unable to test it out. No way I'm springing for Windows 7 Pro only to find out the virtualization capability won't do what I need it to do.
Will I have to continue to dual-boot into XP when I want to work with the old hardware? If so, I'll just get the Windows 7 Home family pack, and forget about VT..
I have a Dell XPS730 with the Nvidia Nforce 790i chipset. I run two 500 gig SATA drives under RAID 0. I recently installed an Intel X25 80 gig SSD and have ran into problems. Windows recognizes the drive as SCSI in device manager. Granted it works however because it is listed as SCSI TRIM and the intel toolbox wont work which makes an SSD useless.After tons of research I have found that because of the Nvidia chipset it makes the drive show up as SCSI. I have tried Vista and Windows 7, both show it as SCSI. I have moved the SATA cable away from the other main 4 that support RAID with no luck. I have refomatted several times as well with no luck. I have completely disabled RAID in the bios and it STILL shows as SCSI. Is there any way to get around this? I have read that changing the nvidia controller drivers may work but im not sure what I would switch them to?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install Windows 7 on my test machine. However, I can't get it to detect any drives - three are 3 disks in the system - it is an IDE disk. When I try and install, it can't detect any disks, but when I try and install through Windows Vista, it detects them.
However, then it says it needs the driver for the LSI Logic 22910, 21002 PCI SCSI adapter; 53C896 Device. Is there still a version of this, and if so, where can I get it? I have tried everywhere I can think of, including the LSI website!
I haven't used Event Viewer before and I'm not sure how to interpret events. All I want is to establish whether a PC was a) on and b) in use between 00:00 and 03:30 on a particular day. What is the easiest way to go about that?
View 5 Replies View RelatedRunning home premium on HP desktop.I installed an SSD and installed W7 on it. Unfortunately I didn't have the foresight to remove the old HDD first, and the W7 install kept the boot sector on the old HDD. Now of course when I remove the old HDD the system won't boot. I tried doing a repair with the W7 install disc. It does say it's repairing, but after many restarts there is still no boot sector on the SSD.So now I re-installed the old drive, but I eventually want to remove it. One additional thing that might help the diagnosis: On bootup I am presented with two W7 boot options. If I select the second W7 it comes back with "Windows failed to start" and then goes on to instruct me to reboot with the W7 disk and select "repair". But as I stated, I already tried that and it didn't work.I spent many hours setting up my W7 environment on the new drive, and I'd really like to fix this problem without doing a fresh re-install of W7.

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust installed Windows 7 RTM and my Sata HDD's and DVDRW are reporting as SCSI devices. I would get this problem in XP if I installed the mobo's raid drivers by accident. If I did then the devices would report as SCSI and the dvd burner would report as a cdrom and would not burn or read dvds
Whereas in Windows 7 the burner is reporting as a DVDRW scsi CDrom and will play dvd's and burn them too.
So at the moment there doesn't seem to be any problem however whilst navigating through the control panel I noticed the WEI. So I took a look and it's report my primary hard drive with a score of 5.9. The hard drive is a brand new Western Digital Caviar Black 500gb 32mb cache disk, is this score normal for such a drive?
Also is there anything else to worry about with the devices reporting as SCSI or is okay to leave it like that.
How can I uninstall a Gigabyte raid contoller without crashing my Win 7 OS? Uninstall is being prevented because "the OS is on the contoller"! Win 7 64 bit is on a Crucial SSD boot drive and AHCI is set in BIOS. However the raid controller is setting all internal drives to SCSI!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got a new laptop, running Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit. I've been having connectivity issues with the internet, and it doesn't seem to be related to the router, as the same issue happens on different wireless networks. The majority of the time when I wake up my computer from sleep, it won't be automatically connecting to my home network, even though it's set to. When I try and connect, it does the whole "windows is taking an unusually long time to connect" deal. To solve it I usually go through troubleshoot. It doesn't find any problems (other than Hamachi IP issue, but this problem persisted before I downloaded Hamachi, and it doesn't seem to affect anything). Once troubleshoot finishes, it's usually about a minute or two later when it magically connects. Sometimes the internet disconnects right in the middle of me doing something, and to solve this I usually turn the switch on the front to turn off all wireless, wait a few seconds and turn it back on, and this usually solves the problem, for the time being.

On VAIO I installed Windows 7. On SCALEO I installed both Windows XP and Windows 7 as dual boot configuration. The Windows 7 version I am using is the free downloadable evaluation installation of Windows 7 Enterprise. Both installations are activated.When I run Windows XP on SCALEO (and Windows 7 on VAIO), I can establish RDC between both computers, both ways, without any problems.When I run Windows 7 on SCALEO (hence, on both machines), establishing RDC fails on either machine with the following message:"Your credentials did not work. The credentials that were used to connect to ... (VAIO/SCALEO) did not work. Please enter new credentials."I have followed all instructions in the tutorial of this forum how to set up a computer for remote desktop connection. I can see both machines in their network folders. I successfully established a homegroup where both machines share data. I am able to share folders on both machines and map them as network drives. I am able to copy data between both machines.

Having issues with RAID0 array being detected by Windows7 Ultimate x64 as SCSI. Apparently these drivers are the 'default' drivers that install when the RAID array is initialized. There is no option at this point to install other drivers instead.Using DeviceManager, there is an option to 'update drivers', and regardless of the method chosen, even selecting the file for a previously-downloaded set of drivers, Windows7 always comes back with a message of "Windows has determined that the best drivers for your system are already installed". Considering that SCSI drivers are the OLDEST ones out there, and actual SCSI devices are becoming rarer and rarer, how is it that these drivers cannot be replaced with more current and more applicable drivers?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire 7741z-4433 with an Intel(R) Pentium(R) p6200 (2.13 GHz, 3MB 1.3 cache). This only happens to me while I am playing The Sims 3. I have the game set on the lowest quality settings, even though my laptop "claims" to be HD LED, etc. This issue still happens. As you may know I cannot replace the graphics card as it is apart of the motherboard, and to buy a new motherboard with a better graphics card would cost more than a new computer. I have been the my manufacture's website and tried installing an update of the graphics card, and that didn't do the trick either. I am at my wits end, and I just want to play the game without it shutting down and freezing my computer. The reason I know the error is because I do Alt + Tab to get back to the desktop. The way it acts up while I am in game is the screen blacks out but I can still see the software's mouse, and then it blinks a couple times and then freezes completely?
