View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Verizon router and I purchased a NetGear N900 wireless dual band usb adapter for my son's computer. I was going to test the N900. It is for college. The N900 will not connect. I do have three other laptops that do connect and work ok. The N900 has WPS but the Verizon router does not.So I have to use the SSID, 'wep' option, and the wep key. The N900 tries to connect and stops trying after about 20 seconds or so. The N900 varies from 4 to 5 green bars. N900 installation was followed and went smoothly and the new software version was used. We are using Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit on my son's computer.I also purchased the Western Digital My Net N750 router for college. I have no way to test everything at home. It does have WPS so at the college I hope everything works.

After trouble shooting, the diagnosis is that "There might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection adapter". My laptop also wouldn't connect to the internet via cable. I'm not sure what the problem is as my laptop was working fine last night.
I have Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit) installed on my Sony Vaio VPCEB36FG.
I tried to update avg on hubs laptop so the kids can play and now after I did it we can't get online period!! on the tool bar were the connection pic is says limited connection? So I did all of the steps to fix ect and it finally came up to.
- There might be a problem w/the drivers for the wireless connection2 adapter
- There might be a problem w/the drivers for the local area connection adapter
MY actual modem is good as we have 3 running right now - should I go to restore point before avg in the critical update moments before I realizes this problem?
"Problem with the driver for Wireless Adapter".I have an HP-Pavilion 2009f with Windows 7 home premium 64-bit. All has been fine with my internet connection, except for a few drops here and there, but all in all it has been tolerable. When I went to bed last night it worked, when I woke up, it didn't. When I troubleshoot I get the message, "There might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection Adapter", to which Windows cannot fix. I get this same error message, respectively, for both wired and wireless connections. After troubleshooting without success, I decided to try and do system update.I am only connected with "Limited Access".What's even weirder is when I open a cmd window and enter ipconfig /all.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAs you can see today when I got on my laptop I wasn't able to connect to the Internet and after attempting to troubleshoot I got this error message along with one saying a network cable is not properly plugged in or is broken. We recently switched Internet service providers and the Internet has been running fine. The only proble I had was sometimes it would randomly drop in speed but I don't think that has anything to do with the issue. Last night it was working perfectly, but then it went slow so I unplugged our router and then disabled the wireless network then reeanbled it. Anyways I've been using this network for a few months now without issues but I think the issue lies within my computer. I checked for windows updates and installed them but no luck. Then I checked for driver updates for my adapters but they were up to date. I don't have any screenshots and I'm on a tablet. Also please use the simplest terms possible because while I have a basic understanding of these things, I'm no expert and I don't want to miss anything

I had to download a iso file from [URL] as he wasn't give a installation disc. The install went fine except when it was finished there was no internet connection available. I tried to troubleshoot but couldn't find any network drivers.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got a new laptop, running Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit. I've been having connectivity issues with the internet, and it doesn't seem to be related to the router, as the same issue happens on different wireless networks. The majority of the time when I wake up my computer from sleep, it won't be automatically connecting to my home network, even though it's set to. When I try and connect, it does the whole "windows is taking an unusually long time to connect" deal. To solve it I usually go through troubleshoot. It doesn't find any problems (other than Hamachi IP issue, but this problem persisted before I downloaded Hamachi, and it doesn't seem to affect anything). Once troubleshoot finishes, it's usually about a minute or two later when it magically connects. Sometimes the internet disconnects right in the middle of me doing something, and to solve this I usually turn the switch on the front to turn off all wireless, wait a few seconds and turn it back on, and this usually solves the problem, for the time being.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI cannot establish a remote desktop connection between two computers in my home LAN running Windows 7.I have two computers in my home network, VAIO and SCALEO. On VAIO I installed Windows 7. On SCALEO I installed both Windows XP and Windows 7 as dual boot configuration. The Windows 7 version I am using is the free downloadable evaluation installation of Windows 7 Enterprise. Both installations are activated. When I run Windows XP on SCALEO (and Windows 7 on VAIO), I can establish RDC between both computers, both ways, without any problems. When I run Windows 7 on SCALEO (hence, on both machines), establishing RDC fails on either machine with the following message:"Your credentials did not work. The credentials that were used to connect to ... (VAIO/SCALEO) did not work. Please enter new credentials."I have followed all instructions in the tutorial of this forum how to set up a computer for remote desktop connection. I can see both machines in their network folders. I successfully established a homegroup where both machines share data. I am able to share folders on both machines and map them as network drives. I am able to copy data between both machines.

All my wireless devices work fine, and when I turn off my laptop's WiFi card and plug it into the same router it works as well.I've done some Googleing on the issue and none of what I found has helped. When I do an ipconfig on each maching, the thing I notice is that on the working laptop I have an entry for the "Connection specific DNS suffix under the "Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection", where on the desktop that's not working the suffix is blank.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a linksys usb600n (v2) using the Windows 7 driver from linksys. It installs and is displayed correctly in Device Manger - BUT it doesn't appear in the Network and Sharing Center as an adapter. This same device and driver were previously working just fine in this system - but I rebuilt the OS (clean install) after testing a number of security products out.
The initial install went fine - no problems that I remember - just plug in the adapter and install the drivers obtained from Linksys (Ver 3.00.01.0). I tried the same thing on the re-build and it looks fine until I go into the Network Center and can't set up wireless networking since the adapter does not appear.
SIW shows TWO (2) linksys USB adapters under Hardware/Network Adapters, but does not show the network adapters in the Network Information section.
Any ideas?
Installed Windows 7 on two home-network computers. Everything appeared to be good, including networking, but I could not access printers (linked through each computer) with the opposite computer. Windows update offered an update for the Broadcom 802.11n network adapter, but when I installed the update I completely lost the network.
I had to revert to the old driver in order to reastablish the network. But the printers still are not recognized. The network adapter on the secondary computer is a Linksys WMP300N. I did try turning the router off for ten seconds with the updated driver but that had no effect.
Anyone had this problem?
On Friday, everything was working as normal on my computer, I was sharing, and the ps3/xbox were on the network and able to play all files. As of saturday afternoon, the networking part suddenly stopped, and I could no longer find my computer on any other device on the network, but I did still have internet capabilities. I didn't think too much into it at the time and figured it was some workgroup error. Saturday night I try to rebuild the workgroup in hopes to fix the problem and also uninstall a scanner that wasn't working. I went to the add/remove programs list, and uninstalled the HP scanner/printer software, and then BOOM, no more internet at all. The other computers and consoles all still have internet, so it has to be something on the computer.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using the Belkin FD7050 v3 USB adapter. I was having all kinds of problems getting 7 to recognize it and find a network.
I got it work by installing Vista x64, running all windows updates and installing the adapter, then doing an in-place upgrade.
Everything was working great, no wireless problems at all. Then I unplugged the adapter and plugged it back in to a different USB port. Win 7 recognized the adapter right away and installed drivers, but it can't see any networks. Very similar to the first time I installed 7 before upgrading from Vista.
I have since tried uninstalling/re-installing. Letting Win 7 find drivers, manually installing the FD7050 v3 drivers from Belkin. Tried installing the Belkin drivers in XP compatibility mode and Vista Compatibility mode. Nothing works.
I'm trying to not have to completely reinstall Vista x64 and then upgrade to 7 x64 again. Any ideas?
I'm running Windows 7 using a DSL line connected via ethernet. I've lost my internet connection, and Windows 7 Diagnostics reports that there might be a problem with the Local Area Connection Adapter driver. Unfortunately, it doesn't say what the problem might be or what to do about it. AT&T has verified that the problem isn't with the DSL line or the modem, and for good measure I bought a new ethernet cable. To make a long story short, I waited too long before considering a System Restore and no longer have restore points available from before this problem started, which was eight days ago. I've visited the Device Manager and the ethernet adapter is enabled and working properly.
