My system is stuck in a boot loop while booting in safe mode,I was updating the drivers on my video card. I used driver cleaner pro to remove my old drivers. I then used msconfig to boot in safe mode with the minimal option selected. When the computer reboots I get to the screen to type in my password for 5 seconds an the computer reboots itself.
I have windows 7 home premium 32 bit dell laptop. Lately, it takes more than 10 minutes before it boots before the windows logo appears). From there the computer works normally. I got a suggestion to check for malwares or viruses so that is what I did. I started by going to msconfig and edited the boot options to start automatically to safe mode with networking, then rebooted my system. After booting, it loaded up the initial screen of safe mode, but then it restarted by itself.
I am now stuck on this reboot loop going into safe mode, it won't even let me go back to normal mode. I went to startup repair, but it didn't find anything, so had to reboot again onto the same situation. I have searched for possible answers, and the best that I could get was to remove the safe boot options and go back to normal mode. The syntax to type was bcdedit /deletevalue {default} safe boot but it didn't work, same with bcdedit /deletevalue safe boot.
I am getting this : "An error occurred while attempting to delete the specified data element. Element not found."
i just bought an asus u31s laptop a couple of weeks ago for school and all was great until today. it suddenly crashed and gave bsod. i was just on Internet or something, nothing special, but it had been running for a few hours. so now it won't boot up, it simply reboots constantly. i can't even get into safe mode. bios i can get into, but i'm unable to do anything, since it appears to freeze, when i get in there.
My Windows 7 ultimate x64 is rebooting itself at the welcome/logon screen, in safe mode only. Normal mode is fine. The reboot happens instantly, after a few seconds at the welcome screen, the screen goes black and the system is rebooted as though I had hit the "reboot" button on the case, with no clean shutdown taking place. I am at a loss to know what could be starting in safe mode, that _doesn't_ start in normal mode, to cause this.
I have recently done a repair install of windows (the problem was there before that), I have tried replacing the safe mode parts of the registry with clean ones downloaded from an AV vendor website (mcafee if I remember correctly), and have tried doing sfc /scannow which resulted in a corrupted boot.sdi being replaced with the archived copy. None of these have fixed the problem.
Obviously, given that I have a usable normal mode, and good backups, this isn't the biggest problem ever, but it would be nice to get it fixed especially for the next time I need to fix a dodgy driver install or similar. What I can check next, particularly in regards to understanding the startup process and what will be loading at the welcome screen that might be causing the reboot.
I went into msconfig on the work laptop and changed the boot to safe boot network, as soon as I went to boot up the laptop and get into safe mode, the laptop freezes at CLASSPNP.sys then I have to reboot.I need to get it to boot back into windows normally, but even selecting "Start windows normally" sends it to safe mode because I set it to boot there in msconfig. What can I possibly do? I've tried running start up repair but says it cannot repair the issue. Due to security, the laptop hard drive has been encrypted with truecrypt, and therefore when I put the OS DVD in to try and do something from the command prompt, there are no OS's listed as installed so cannot alter the bootmbr or any windows files.
my Dell Studio 1555 laptop will not boot either into regular windows or safe mode. When booting into safe mode, the very last file that will load is "CLASSPNP.SYS".When that happens it will stay stuck loading the next file for a few minutes, then restart itself into the Windows Error Recovery screen. When I try start-up repair, it goes to a blank black screen and repeats the procedure above (ie. it gets stuck and restarts a few minutes later) When I hard-shut down by pressing the power button, a BSoD appears for a fraction of a second right before it dies. What could the problem be, and what can I do to fix it? I have the windows 7 install disk, if needed. Should I go ahead and try an installation repair using the disk?
After a power outage, my windows 7 will not boot without going into safe mode. How can I restore my system to boot automatically without going into safe mode.
the only way I can accurately portray my predicament is via numbered flow chart:
1. Wake up sleeping computer, nothing happens, starts humming faster and faster, so I pull the plug.
2. Turn on computer, goes through the ASUS screen, then the mother board screen has some weird pixelation on the left scree, like some lines or something. Windows is loading....then black screen forever. do this 1 or 2 more times.
3. Go to System Repair and System Restore. Repair fails and tells me a Boot Driver is failing. Restore fails each time.
4. Hold F1, go to boot menu, hit F8, select Safe Mode. Safe Mode works, fantastic.
5. Do AVG Defrag, Disk Clean, and Disk Repair. Then restart...now I get a blue "Dumping Physical Memory" screen.
6. Go back to Safe Mode, use boot disk, tell it to un/re-install windows.
7. Come back later and find it in Phys Mem dump loop, pop it into Safe Mode again. I then see two Windows 7 OSs to choose from, pick the bottom one. Says it can't complete installation in Safe Mode, restart it normal, Phys Dump loop.
8. I do the same thing for the top Win 7 choice, same thing.
9. I've back up all my files, and have drivers/boots disks for everything I own. How do I wipe my hard drive and start fresh?
So I was using a program called TuneUp Utilities, and I used this function called the Disk Doctor to check for errors in my computer. While it was checking for errors, my computer shut down automatically and when I started it up again a black screen appears giving me the option to either load Startup Repair or Start Windows Normally. When I start Windows Normally, everything goes fine until I see the cursor. Nothing happens and then the computer restarts on it's own. I've even tried disabling restart on system failure but when I did that the computer just stayed at a dark screen until I restarted it.When I load Startup Repair, it searches for problems for like 5 minutes and then says it can't be automatically fixed. It says to remove all USB cables and everything (which I did but had no effect) and lets me have advanced recovery options. When I load advanced recovery options, all that appears is Startup Repair again. When I press F8 and do a Safe Mode, it starts up normally but once I see the mouse cursor the computer restarts.
I have recently installed windows ultimate x64 on my computer.i have an asus p6t deluxe v2 mobo, i7-960 cpu and a wd velociraptor hdd. The install went ok, I even managed to restart my computer a few times after but after windows updates installed it won't boot. I tried to boot into safe mode, restore from the installer, and repair, none worked. After startup repair it says: "a patch is preventing the system from starting" and I get a 0x1f error code.(Preventing windows from downloading any updates didn't work either)
The problem is that when I boot my PC it will go black and restart after getting to the windows logo boot part. If I try Safe mode it will get to SYSTEM32DRIVERSDISK.SYS and then just bluescreens and restarts again. Before it got to CLASSPNP.SYS but I tried to rename it to CLASSPNP.OLD and now it didn't really change much. I also tried using this code but it just tells me that some files are corrupt and it cannot repair it.If I try the automatic repair option it will just try and repair for a couple of hours and then say it cannot repair and rebooting the PC.

I have Windows 7 on Laptop. My mouse stopped responding in the Windows normal mode but functions fine in the Safe mode. I restarted the laptop several times but the problem remains.
I got a new computer on friday and have set it up today. I installed my windows 7 home premium 64bit and it downloaded,i then went on to put in my xfx AMD graphics card software disk and the download stopped half way through so i started it again and it got right to the last step where it has to re-start the computer. When it started up again insted of loading windows homepage it loaded the system repair screen, it searched and searched but said it had found no problem, so i clicked on the recovery tool restart option that then re-started the computer and the process started again and went straight back onto the system repair screen again. Is there anything i can do to stop it?
After attempting to start my Laptop in Safe Mode, it loaded drivers normally only to crash a few seconds later. A prompt message appears but is impossible to read because Windows immediately reboots upon showing the prompt.
My parent's Desktop was having a side x side error and i've been trying to help her get it repaired. Her problem is that none of the programs will open except for internet explorer. All other applications give the sxstrace.exe error and won't open. I advised her to hit F8 and get into safe mode so I could try and help her further. She couldn't get that to work so I had her force safe mode through msconfig. That worked and got her into safe mode and she's still getting the sxs error and can't get anything to work for her. I advised her to go back into mconfig and uncheck the safe mode boot and wait til I come home and fix it. Now the problem is when she tries opening the msconfig, she gets an error on that saying it can't open the application with the error code 0xc000142 Now she's stuck in safe mode with no networking and the computer is basically useless. I'm 800 miles from home and won't be there until thanksgiving and i'm trying to help her over the phone so im kind of limited here. I was trying to get remote assist going for her but she couldn't install that either without the sxstrace.exe error.
they're running windows 7, If i remember correctly it's the x64 version.
Basically my hp 2000 screen is busted so I have been using a external display with that being said I had accidentally toggled te safe mode minimal option in MSCONFIG and my computer rebooted I have no way of seeing what's on the screen right now because it is not loading to my external display what are my options? I called hp and they just told me to get the display of the laptop changed
Last night I closed my laptop without shutting it down. I woke up this morning and turned it on and it went to the system repair screen and ran through that. It says there are problems but they are not automatically repairable. I then tried to do the system restore to an earlier point in time and had one option for a couple days ago. I ran through that but it says there is an error and when I expand to see the error one of the things listed is no OS installed. I have windows 7 64bit. Why it would say I don't have an OS installed but it is running through the system start up repair as well as listing a date that I could restore it back to. I have not tried installing the hard drive into a new computer yet.
I can only boot up in safe mode Ive tried loading windows 7 disc to repair wont work in safe mode, did restore no luck, did panda safe disk reload did virus scan clean, did dskchk, tried start windows normal from f8 menu, last known good config etc.
I have a windows 7 pro 64 bit HP desktop computer that will not load windows. I have tried safemode, safemode w/ networking, and last know good config. I've run startup repair both from windowsRE and an original windows 7 pro disk. I have attempted multiple system restores (non destructive) to a number of different dates. The system restores say that they work but the machine still loops.
I know it's just some small windows corruption. I would have no trouble backing up my files with a linux distribution live flash drive and restoring the OS but I REALLY don't want to do that. How can I identify and repair the problem without starting from scratch. I'm familiar with msdos cli, but don't know which commands (if any) will help. I also don't know of any live CD's/ tools that will allow me to fix this problem. My problem here is simply lack of information.
i have toshiba satellite A205 win 7 its been freezing a lot lately i dont know why so i tried to install Windows 7 OS again (its not genuine) i usually do this successfully if i get virus but i dont think its virus this time but during the installation it got stuck it passes the copying windows file up to completing installation but it says it needs to be restarted and i did this several times it either hangs up or tells me cannot be installed restart.whenever i start all over again a black screen comes up with listing windows 7 several times asking me to select 1.i select the latest but same thing happens allover cannot access safe mode either i tried to install win 7 ultimate geniune but same thing happens.i also tried the repairing option its not working keeps telling me to restart..i believe its the hdd thats corrupted.i need to get my files.
A Dell Inspiron E1705, w/ 2x2gb mem, 500 gb hd, ATI Radeon x1400 vid and Win 7.There were no Dell drivers or programs and the system BIOS was ver A01. Checking the Dell website against the Service Tag, I found 22 drivers and programs specific to the computer. Most of them ran and installed under Win 7 with no trouble. The last one was the bios flash utility program to update the bios to ver A10. The bios flashed, seemed to go ok. But on system reboot, after the initial screem about resetting the memory sticks, the computer is stuck in an infinite reboot loop.It loads the initial POST screen, completes the POST, seeks for its boot device and when it finds and starts to access the installed HD it reboots. I have reset all the bios settings to factory default settings. I have pulled the system battery and "cleared the cmos", but no joy there. I have created a bootable usb flash drive with another Dell laptop, and the computer will boot from that. I have other bootable cd's, and the computer will boot from them. I can use the bootable cd's to determine that the programs they run (freeware backup programs and a copy of bart pe) can access the installed hd,and see the files there, so the installed hd is intact. But i still can't get the computer to boot from it.My first thought was to reinstall the ver A01 bios, but it would not complete the process and remained at ver .A10. I was able to flash bios A09, and then A07, etc, all the way back to ver A04. But after that I could go back no further, A02 and A01 flash utilities returned an error message. If I found some compatible mem sticks and a smaller hd, installed them, could I reflash bios ver A02 or A01? Would that do me any good? (I have 2 x 256 mg mem sticks from a dell inspiron 5100 which I upgraded to 2x1gb, and a 40 gb 2.5in hd that also came out of the 5100, so I could use those parts in the e1705 to reflash the earlier bios)
i installed LibUSB-Win32- drivers so i could use iRecovery on my iPhone,on completion of installation of LibUSB my keyboard and mouse turned off, well all of my USB was disabled. so i was forced to restart, sadly same thing, login screen no keyboard or mouse, i tried in safemode, same thing. however my keyboard works in CMOS and BIOS so i know its a OS issue. and this only happened when i installled LIBUSB, i looked it up and tried manually removing LibUSB using the Win7 setup disks command prompt. i deleted LibUSB0.sys out of Windows/Systen32/Drivers so that LibUSB wont be called upon during start up, however doing this has now meant my PC will reboot after loading Windows even in safemode, the Starting Windows screen appears. fades and riight before it goes to the login screen it restarts, Safemode too. i have no Restore points and i cannot and i mean Cannot Format this harddisk, its not backed up and i have over 400GB of data i absolutely NEED.Im so stuck its not funny i have no idea what to do to get windows booting again and without this silly LibUSB stuff! i dont have aany PS./2 Ports on my mobo either!, what can i do >? Please ive asked everywhere and no one knows what i can do except reformat.
My refurbished Asus g74sx is stuck in a boot-up loop. Because it is refurbished I have no back up discs. I have tried all the advanced boot options with zero success or headway. It has been suggested that I may have corrupted windows files, but I lack the funding to pay for a new disc or professional tech support When I run start up repair the I get a Problem signature reading Problem Signature 04: -1?
When I start my computer everything seems to be working fine but after login it says Please Wait then freezes at Welcome screen and the cursor can be moved around the screen and shows the loading icon and the screen also flashes black every few seconds. I've restarted and attempted to access Safe Mode however it also freezes at Welcome screen. I went into the repair system screen and tried a system restore but it says there are no restore points available and I know I haven't deleted my restore points. I've tried disconnecting any of the hardware I've had installed but that hasn't helped either. There also isn't any faulty hardware. When it was last working it said there was a Windows update so I installed the update but when I tried to turn on the computer the next time thats when the problem started and I don't remember what the update was for. I upgraded from Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit about 2 months ago and up until now I've had no problems with it. What can I do?
Here are the system specs:
Dell Inspiron 530s Intel Celeron 2.00 Ghz 3.00 GB DDR2 RAM (I added 2.00 gigs myself came with 1.00 gig from factory) Windows 7 32-bit upgrade from Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit 250 Gb Hard Drive

Like the title says, my computer is stuck on a black screen.I downloaded an update and was instructed to restart the computer. After restarting the computer it went to a black screen. It won't do anything past that. I've tried starting it in safe mode but always with the same result. I have no idea what to do with this short of taking it to Best Buy to have the geek squad take a look at it and frankly I don't feel like doing that.
I can't boot my computer in normal mode or safe mode. When I try to do so, after the "starting windows" page the only things that come up are my mouse, a black screen/background, and a "logonui.exe-bad image- Authui.dll isn't designed to run on windows" error/message (not the exact message). I can't use a system restore (it can't find a restore point), the image recovery tool finds no image to restore from, system repair either doesn't find a problem or can't fix the problem, and basically nothing else works (none of the advanced boot options or other various buttons and tools do anything noticeable). I've even tried to use sfc in command prompt, but whenever I do any sfc things at all (/scannow, verifyonly, verifyfile, etc.) it says there is a system repair pending that requires a reboot. I've restarted 7-8 times and the exact same message keeps coming up. I'm looking for any general help I can get right now, [I can post my computer specifics in an hour when I have time](posted a few). I have an HP pavilion dv6-6135dx wiht Windows 7 x64.Processor: AMD a8-3500m APU, raedon graphics bios vender/version: insyde, f. 20.I'm having trouble getting more info because my computer is still crashing occasionally and I don't really know what else is relevant; if you need more, I might need directions on how to get it. Especially if it involves command prompt.I should also add that it has been crashing more often than I think is normal ever since I got it, but recently it BSODed 3-4 times a day. I have antivirus and also ran a full malwarebytes scan yesterday, and it only found one little issue which was resolved.
I seem to be having quite the problem on a computer of mine. After recently installing the directx sdk I am unable to logon through normal or safe mode. When I try to boot up normally, I log in but then the monitors go black but everything else seems to run. Pressing ctrl alt delete works and brings up the screen again but if I try to select task manager for example the screen goes black again. When I boot up through safe mode the computer restarts seconds after loading the windows logon screen.

Lately whenever i try to start my computer it pass the Dell Bios and then directly goes to the screen which states Repair your system or Start windows normally When i chose repair system , it start downloading windows files and then launch the windows , but hung up at the sky blue login window with only movable cusor . When i choose to start windows normally it gives me BSOD momentarly ( hard to see the message) and then restarts again . i tried with the advanced boot up options like repair my computer , all safe modes , restore to last good configuration but it does the same and hangs at windows loging sky blue window .I Tried to run the Dell PSA+ Diagnostic and it returns with 2000-0146 error . As per the Dell online solutions for this type of error ,I tried to reinstall the Hard disk but the problem still exist.
I bought the bleeping Dell Inspiron 560, was to rapidly tap F8 during startup to bring up the "Advanced Boot Options." I saw the guy at Best Buy do it but it did not work on my machine when I got home. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium. The computer came without a manual or any disks.
