I am trying to get my PC to be woken from sleep by the keyboard. My keyboard and mouse are both USB devices so I have gone into my bios to enable USB devices to wake PC from sleep.Now though my PC wont go into sleep mode all it does is breifly enter sleep mode then straight away comes back out of it, is there any thing that can be done to get around this problem.

Not up until a few days ago did I start having this issue. I can't think of any major changes I made in order to cause this. I can use my Logitech Mouse and Keyboard the wake the computer up from the sleep mode... but once it's up, neither of them are responding.Things I checked for: Latest update on the USB drivers, Logitech Software update (including the PS/2 Driver) Windows update. I checked if the option is checked ON for 'Allow this device to wake up the computer' (and it is on). View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a laptop that is now running Win7 32 Home Premium(I upgraded from Win xp). I am using an external keyboard and mouse, as I am using it as a HTPC hooked up to a TV and want the laptop display closed and laptop tucked away. I have all the power options in Win7 set to put it to sleep, but there is no option I can find to have it wake up from sleep other than the power button on the laptop which is not accessible if lid is closed.
Some have said you need to go to the mouse/keyboard driver itself(HID Device) in device manager, and there should be a power management tab on the driver/device options, but my usb options do not have this tab. I also went to the Bios to configure power options and there are not options to configure power states(such as S3 S5 etc). I can get the laptop to go to sleep with the sleep button on a usb keyboard, but once it is asleep, it will not wake up from any command from the mouse/keyboard. I believe its because the USB ports are not being powered while in sleep mode, so it will not see a wake command - As I said before my USB port options do not have any power management settings. I also plugged in an MCE remote which has a sleep button, and same thing- it puts it to sleep, but will not wake it up. My goal is to just use an MCE remote for all commands -as I am running Windows Media Center.
Over the past week, my monitor,keyboard, and mouse become unresponsive after waking from sleep. I haven't installed any new software in the past couple weeks and all my drivers are current. It doesn't happen every time, its random. About 3-4 times in the past week I come home and hit the keyboard to wake it up, the computer wakes up, but the monitor, keyboard, and mouse never come on. I've tried unplugging both the keyboard and mouse and it still won't work. I have to hard reset the comp for them to come back on. Unfortunately, since its random, I can't duplicate it, I just have to try some things out and wait to see if it happens anymore.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy brand new Logitech G510 keyboard won't wake my PC up from sleep mode. My mouse (Razor DeathAdder) will wake up PC from sleep mode. When it does wake from sleep mode I hear the beeps like new hardware has been found and then I can use my keyboard. I've checked for the latest firmware and software from Logitech's website, but it's a fiasco looking for updated drivers and firmware on their site.

Now my HDMI interface doesn't work, and the mouse and keyboard only work in safe mode. When I boot into normal mode, there's no cursor and no response to keyboard. What could have gone wrong?

When I boot up my PC and it gets to the desktop, a program window pops up and the mouse and keyboard will not work.Therefore, I cannot clear the program from the desktop or go anywhere to run scans or the like to see if the problem is virus related. When I go into safe mode, it does the same thing. I tried restoring to last known configuration with no System Restore shows no restore points. I can't do anything including get you information on my PC. I am running Windows 7 32 bit on a HP/Compaq DC 7600 C/PD 950. I am running Avast Anti-Virus Suite Pro. Regardless once on the desktop, I can not go anywhere. What the heck? Right now I am working on my laptop.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy computer, Gigabyte GA-X48-DS4 MB, worked perfectly in Win XP Pro SR3 32 bit. Computer went to sleep and would awaken immediately when mouse, Logitech LX7 wireless/optical or space bar were hit. I upgraded the OS to Win 7 Pro x64. The upgrade went well other than me having to learn the new system. One major problem is that when the computer is idle and the display turns off I have problems trying to wake the computer. I move the mouse and the display turns on immediately and the mouse will move a short distance and then freeze. The cursor will stay locked for 30 seconds to a minute and I will again be able control the mouse. However if the computer hasn't been used for a number of hours the display awakes and the mouse moves a short distance but I'm never able to regain control of the mouse as it stays locked in place and I have to reboot to use the computer. I have searched these forums and have carefully checked both the BIOS and the Advanced Power Management Setting to make sure that the computer is never allowed to Hibernate and that the HD is not turned off and that every power saving function is disabled - all to no avail.

I tried googling but I couldn't find exact same problem but most of answers were pointing towards overheating I installed SpeedFan I alt tabbed out of stalker to look at the reading at my cores were at 60 not sure if thats enough to cause something like I described.
I just got a new mouse but its a PS/2 connection instead of USB and it wont wake the PC from C3 sleep (i think the mouse is being turned off in sleep). My old USB mouse which i took out today worked perfect and would wake the PC from sleep by clicking once.
Under Control Panel>Mouse>Hardware>Properties>Power Management:

A couple days ago, my keyboard and touchpad mouse stopped working. I thought it was a hardware issue and ordered a replacement keyboard. As for the touchpad, I'm just using a wireless mouse. I replaced the keyboard a couple days later with the new one, and when I turned on my laptop, it works again, but when I put my laptop to sleep and wake it up, I hit enter, and then it stops working. View 10 Replies View RelatedWas playing Left 4 Dead before and noticed whenever I hold down any key on my keyboard (Logitech G15), and try to move my mouse (G9), the mouse moves, the suddenly stops for a split of a second, moves to where I want it, then stop, etc.
Almost as if the MOUSE had latency issues.
Opened up Autodesk Maya afterwards, spun my scene around using Alt + Mouse, and it's all fine.
Anyone else got anything weird like this? Running 64-bit Windows 7.
FIXED. I verified game cache and restarted computer as well as swapping my USB slots.
Yesterday I got on my computer everything is running fine. Today got on it for awhile and suddenly the USB keyboard and USB mouse lock up. I've tried restarting it and I can't get past the first screen. It says keyboard not present or something around those lines.I plugged in a ps/2 keyboard and it works but my USB mouse will still not work. I've tried going into BIOS and making sure USB was enabled. Tried a system restore but for some reason it wont complete.

Anyway, i tried to ignore this for a couple of days but now when they freeze, they won't come back and i have to reboot the computer manually.I've tried starting windows through safe mode. I have tried restarting. I tried using a USB keyboard. I also tried Safe mode and I've got nothing. I turned it off with the power button since I had no other choice. When it comes up with "Windows did not properly shut down" screen i can use my keyboard to select options, however, after the screen I've got nothing. My login screen comes up like normal. I even have a flashing cursor in the password box yet my touch pad and keyboard do nothing.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen I open, it's seemingly random, programs sometimes the usb flicker on and off. For example, the mouse works 1-2 seconds then stops 1-2 seconds and continues like that. Same with the keyboard, it works a few seconds, stops and repeats.When I shut down the program it works again, 'the program' because it's been abit of everything. Sometimes it happens again, so I have to restart again etc.With the new keyboard with back lighting and mouse with dpi indicator I see that the keyboard and mouse flicker with its light on and off, one after another. The usb unplugged sound or whatever it is has also occured with these new peripherals aswell.I've tried disabling power saving option in the Root Hubs in device management, but it doesn't help.

Only problem found is I have a Rocketfish keyboard and mouse Blustooth and seems to loose conectivity often, have to delete and search for the blooth items. Other than that Windows 7 seems to be a very good operating system and look forward to the release.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm seeming randomly having a problem on my self-built desktop PC where my keyboard and mouse will freeze up, leaving the computer virtually inoperable. I also get strange hangs in the mouse that last a second or so, leading up to one big hang. There's no BSOD or anything like that.I have to hard reboot in order to do anything. All programs and services continue to run and there's no real warning. Games will continue to play like normal as will videos and music, I just can't alt/tab or Cntrl/Alt/Delete. There's no indication that the devices disconnected physically or otherwise. The LEDs on the keyboard stay lit, so it's not as if it loses power.I have tried unplugging and replugging, updating USB drivers, installing and subsequently uninstalling Logitech software, and physically cleaning the fan (Just to ensure heat wasn't a factor). I've ran virus checks from Avast and Malware Bytes that have come back clean. I've looked into the event viewer, but I'm not very proficient with it and I can't seem to find anything on it.
