View 2 Repliesreally have never seen anything quite like this. When I boot up my PC and it gets to the desktop, a program window pops up and the mouse and keyboard will not work. Therefore, I cannot clear the program from the desktop or go anywhere to run scans or the like to see if the problem is virus related. When I go into safe mode, it does the same thing. I tried restoring to last known configuration with no System Restore shows no restore points. I can't do anything including get you information on my PC. I am running Windows 7 32 bit on a HP/Compaq DC 7600 C/PD 950. I am running Avast Anti-Virus Suite Pro. Regardless once on the desktop, I can not go anywhere. What the heck? Right now I am working on my laptop.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm not blindly posting the issue. I have done research and followed other threads in order to troubleshoot the problem but to no avail.I built my computer back in January of this year. Not up until a few days ago did I start having this issue. I can't think of any major changes I made in order to cause this. I can use my Logitech Mouse and Keyboard the wake the computer up from the sleep mode... but once it's up, neither of them are responding.Things I checked for: Latest update on the USB drivers, Logitech Software update (including the PS/2 Driver) Windows update. I checked if the option is checked ON for 'Allow this device to wake up the computer' (and it is on). When other things are plugged in the same USB port, they work just fine after sleep mode, e.g. my drawin
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhile housecleaning I unplugged everything from my computer, dusted, and plugged everything back in, though I probably didn't put all the USB devices in the same order as before. Now my HDMI interface doesn't work, and the mouse and keyboard only work in safe mode. When I boot into normal mode, there's no cursor and no response to keyboard. What could have gone wrong?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 on Laptop. My mouse stopped responding in the Windows normal mode but functions fine in the Safe mode. I restarted the laptop several times but the problem remains.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwindow 7 working on safe mode and unable to choose the another restoration point and it is not loading in normal mode -after installed third party software worked on that for few hours, then after switched off and later it switched on then after this problem started, automatic repair done, nothing is notified
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the most strange issue with my keyboard. It works in Bios, it works in safe mode, it works when I try to repair windows (repair files are added to a partition on the laptop - its how I bought it) but whenever windows boots normally, the keyboard won't work.It is a built in keyboard to my laptop and the fact it works everywhere else tells me it's fine (just in case connectors were damaged I stripped it and had a look anyway).Things I have tried
1) uninstalling the driver in safe mode - this reinstalls when I reboot but still no joy. The strange part is I do not think the driver files are corrupted because safe mode and normal mode seems to use the same drivers (standard ps2).
2) The manufacturer (HP Compaq) has no specific drivers which leads me to believe that standard ps2 is right but I reinstalled quick buttons -no joy
3) there are no conflicts or yellow exclamation point in device manager
4) the only thing I did was upgrade my AV (AVG 2013) so uninstalled -no joy.
5) ran AV and MBAM and ran TDSS killer just in case - no virus or malware
6) cleaned registry with Ccleaner -no joy
7) no processes or startup items are unusual but I have killed /disabled just in case-no joy
8) did a system restore (no joy)
9) I had backed up the registry ages ago so I tried that -no joy
10) Tried on battery and plugged in no battery in case the power is an issue -no joy
11) reflashed Bios - no joy
12 - All language sttings looked ok
A USB keyboard works if plugged in Just in case I did run hijack this too

View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried putting it in safe mode and it went through running some files and when it came back to the start menu, the mouse was frozen. I could still type in my password, and it went to the desktop but the mouse remains frozen. I hope I don't need some other password because I don't have one.

My keyboard and mouse are both USB devices so I have gone into my bios to enable USB devices to wake PC from sleep. Now though my PC wont go into sleep mode all it does is breifly enter sleep mode then straight away comes back out of it, is there any thing that can be done to get around this problem.

I've tried restarting it and I can't get past the first screen. It says keyboard not present or something around those lines.I plugged in a ps/2 keyboard and it works but my USB mouse will still not work. I've tried going into BIOS and making sure USB was enabled. Tried a system restore but for some reason it wont complete.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Zino HD. After some Windows updates (may or may not be relevant) the mouse and keyboard have stopped working completely. They work for the BIOS and for F8 options but once Windows has started to boot properly, they stop. I therefore cannot log on.

I have a sony vaio laptop. After having a blue screen appeared and computer turning off by itself i cant login to safe mode. I was able to go to f2 bios but not to the advance booting options f8 or shift+f8.
so after tuning off i tried turning on the laptop. sony logo appeared and then theres was a black screen with a small white line blinking and that was the farthest it could go. So i tried formatting and installing a fresh copy of windows 8 and for my surprise I was able to logon into windows again.
The problem now is, that im still not being able to login into safe mode or adavance booting options.is there a way to do a complete hardware diagnosis?
installed the R/C last night. When it finally was done installing doing an upgrade from 32-bit vista to windows 7, the final reset loads up and i cannot use either my mouse or keyboard. I have tried pluggng them into every usb slot i have, restarted with both plugged in and not plugged in.tried the 2 other mice and another keyboad. One being a microsoft keyboard that. The keyboard does work when choosing between the different loadup options, but still doesn't work in safemode. When i try to reinstall either Vista with my bootup cd or with the copy of windows xp i have, it starts the loadup , but keeps getting the blue screen before the install even starts.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe mouse and keyboard work in the Bios, but once it gets to the log in screen there is a pointer in the middle but nothing works.I had just installed the software for the keyboard from the Kensington website and it told me to re-boot. So that is what I did, now nothing works. After I noticed it had froze, I had to hold the power button on the tower to shut it down. I tried doing safe mode, but that made no difference. Legacy is activated in the bios and it sees the UBS mouse and keyboard. I tried doing a system restore, but for some reason my backup disk is not being seen (even though the reader is) and since I got the OEM version of Windows 7 I don't think I can just re-install it.
I have a Dell Inspiron 560s which is about 2 years old. The keyboard and mouse were working till 12 hours ago. This morning i realized that neither of them were working. The laser in the mouse and the lights on the keyboard stays on until the login process starts. The keyboard works in the BIOS. Once the screen says 'Starting Windows', the lights and the laser go off resulting in the mouse and the keyboard not working. I thought going into safe mode and trying would make a difference - my efforts went in vain. The only way I could turn off the computer during this process of trying was by turning of the ups or holding down the power button for about 5 seconds. I have currently stopped any further trials as I am afraid that switching off the computer like that would spoil the hard disk and I will lose all my data which is on it (I have lots of Pics and docs which are very important).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have dell optiplex 390 computer. I used it for 6 month without having problem. But now i have problem on keyboard and mouse. Every time turn on the computer it work correctly for 2 or 3 minutes. After that it stop responding. First I thought it have problem with OS. Then I installed windows. But now also it happen as before. When it happen I change the port that mouse and keyboard are connected. Then it again work for 2 or 3 minutes and stop working. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have got his bizarre problem, my mouse and keyboard just stopped working properly. The mouse pointer moves but right click does not work and if I left click on a folder the the properties pan of the folder opens up. Sometimes the left click does work, but the menu which opens up stays for a fraction of a second and disappears. But this is just half of the problem, the enter key toggles full screen mode for an application. I think something corrupted the key bindings and the mouse drivers. Is there any way to fix the problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been having a rather annoying issue for a while now. This mostly happens on start up and once desktop loads up either my USB mouse freezes or my keyboard doesn't work or sometimes BOTH. My keyboard is a PS/2 Keyboard. It seems the only solution when both freeze at the same time is to either restart the computer or unplug them and plug them back in. This morning when I booted it up my mouse immediately was frozen and I unplugged it and plugged it back in and now it is working. This error is very random and sometimes doesn't happen immediately on start up but while browsing the Internet a decent amount of time after start up. Another important thing I forgot to mention is I get NO blue screen or no error message it just stops working.
View 9 Replies View RelatedBasically i installed some updates for nvidia to help my devices catch up with my win 7 pro install. Now however i have the issue that my ps/2 keyboard and touch pad mouse has stopped working and i'm having to use USB to actually use my laptop. Has anyone else found a solution to this at all. I have checked device manager and it say code 10 for the mouse not working and code 19 for the keyboard not working.
For background info i have a Dell Studio XPS running 64 bit Win 7 pro.
