So heres what happened. I was jailbreaking my ipod, and something went wrong. While I was doing the whole DFU thing a little pop-up notification showed up about installing new USB device. The Ipod rebooted and the computer froze. After I hit the reset button, everything starts loading and it get to the Win7 log in screen...... but the keyboard and mouse do not work. They work in BIOS. They are getting power, but if i unplug them and plug them back in while at the log in screen they dont get power any more. ( they light up, so when i replug them in... no pretty lights). So I tryed safe mode..... Can use keyboard to select boot options, but once win7 loads.... no go.Win7 CD ..... Keyboard and mouse work!!!! But it tells me that my CD is not compatable with this version.
Everytime I boot up the keyboard works for me to go to BIOS or Boot menu but once I get to the login page it stops working. I noticed that people are saying disable device signature enforcement or something but I can't find that in my BIOS. I have an Asus motherboard model - M4A88t -V
My keyboard on my laptop is not working, as well as the mouse. Yesterday I got on my computer everything is running fine. Today got on it for awhile and suddenly the USB keyboard and USB mouse lock up. I've tried restarting it and I can't get past the first screen. It says keyboard not present or something around those lines.I plugged in a ps/2 keyboard and it works but my USB mouse will still not work. I've tried going into BIOS and making sure USB was enabled. Tried a system restore but for some reason it wont complete.
I have a Dell Zino HD. After some Windows updates (may or may not be relevant) the mouse and keyboard have stopped working completely. They work for the BIOS and for F8 options but once Windows has started to boot properly, they stop. I therefore cannot log on.
I have a very strange problem. My mouse clicks by itself, and my keyboard types things I've previously typed EVEN THOUGH it's not plugged in. It's random, but occurs after about 2 hours of use. Could I have gotten a virus or changed some weird setting?
installed the R/C last night. When it finally was done installing doing an upgrade from 32-bit vista to windows 7, the final reset loads up and i cannot use either my mouse or keyboard. I have tried pluggng them into every usb slot i have, restarted with both plugged in and not plugged in.tried the 2 other mice and another keyboad. One being a microsoft keyboard that. The keyboard does work when choosing between the different loadup options, but still doesn't work in safemode. When i try to reinstall either Vista with my bootup cd or with the copy of windows xp i have, it starts the loadup , but keeps getting the blue screen before the install even starts.
The mouse and keyboard work in the Bios, but once it gets to the log in screen there is a pointer in the middle but nothing works.I had just installed the software for the keyboard from the Kensington website and it told me to re-boot. So that is what I did, now nothing works. After I noticed it had froze, I had to hold the power button on the tower to shut it down. I tried doing safe mode, but that made no difference. Legacy is activated in the bios and it sees the UBS mouse and keyboard. I tried doing a system restore, but for some reason my backup disk is not being seen (even though the reader is) and since I got the OEM version of Windows 7 I don't think I can just re-install it.
I have a Dell Inspiron 560s which is about 2 years old. The keyboard and mouse were working till 12 hours ago. This morning i realized that neither of them were working. The laser in the mouse and the lights on the keyboard stays on until the login process starts. The keyboard works in the BIOS. Once the screen says 'Starting Windows', the lights and the laser go off resulting in the mouse and the keyboard not working. I thought going into safe mode and trying would make a difference - my efforts went in vain. The only way I could turn off the computer during this process of trying was by turning of the ups or holding down the power button for about 5 seconds. I have currently stopped any further trials as I am afraid that switching off the computer like that would spoil the hard disk and I will lose all my data which is on it (I have lots of Pics and docs which are very important).
I have dell optiplex 390 computer. I used it for 6 month without having problem. But now i have problem on keyboard and mouse. Every time turn on the computer it work correctly for 2 or 3 minutes. After that it stop responding. First I thought it have problem with OS. Then I installed windows. But now also it happen as before. When it happen I change the port that mouse and keyboard are connected. Then it again work for 2 or 3 minutes and stop working. I check whether the port I used before can used for other devices so I insert USB flash drive.
I have got his bizarre problem, my mouse and keyboard just stopped working properly. The mouse pointer moves but right click does not work and if I left click on a folder the the properties pan of the folder opens up. Sometimes the left click does work, but the menu which opens up stays for a fraction of a second and disappears. But this is just half of the problem, the enter key toggles full screen mode for an application. I think something corrupted the key bindings and the mouse drivers. Is there any way to fix the problem.
I am having a problem where, if i hold down a button on my keyboard and try to move my mouse around it will freeze (the mouse) in one spot until i release the button i am holding, This only started happening about 2 hours ago, The only thing i have downloaded/updated in the past 24 hours of this thread was an update for itunes.(W7, g62 hp laptop)I've currently replaced the keyboard for the space bar deciding to stop working, it is the correct keyboard. As far as i know all of my drivers are working and updated properly
Keyboard and mouse not working in Windows 7 (desktop), even in safe mode. The keyboard does work in the BIOS. I have tried to attach a PS2 keyboard, but it doesn't work either. I can't get to the device manager to check drivers.
Tried installing a USB Driver for my PS3, Called Libusb 1.0.4 something something. No all my USB Ports have stopped working. Only in Windows though. They work in bios, and in start up applications. even tried using the Windows7 Disc to repair the problem.
I'm not blindly posting the issue. I have done research and followed other threads in order to troubleshoot the problem but to no avail.I built my computer back in January of this year. Not up until a few days ago did I start having this issue. I can't think of any major changes I made in order to cause this. I can use my Logitech Mouse and Keyboard the wake the computer up from the sleep mode... but once it's up, neither of them are responding.Things I checked for: Latest update on the USB drivers, Logitech Software update (including the PS/2 Driver) Windows update. I checked if the option is checked ON for 'Allow this device to wake up the computer' (and it is on). When other things are plugged in the same USB port, they work just fine after sleep mode, e.g. my drawin
I have been having a rather annoying issue for a while now. This mostly happens on start up and once desktop loads up either my USB mouse freezes or my keyboard doesn't work or sometimes BOTH. My keyboard is a PS/2 Keyboard. It seems the only solution when both freeze at the same time is to either restart the computer or unplug them and plug them back in. This morning when I booted it up my mouse immediately was frozen and I unplugged it and plugged it back in and now it is working. This error is very random and sometimes doesn't happen immediately on start up but while browsing the Internet a decent amount of time after start up. Another important thing I forgot to mention is I get NO blue screen or no error message it just stops working.
Basically i installed some updates for nvidia to help my devices catch up with my win 7 pro install. Now however i have the issue that my ps/2 keyboard and touch pad mouse has stopped working and i'm having to use USB to actually use my laptop. Has anyone else found a solution to this at all. I have checked device manager and it say code 10 for the mouse not working and code 19 for the keyboard not working.
For background info i have a Dell Studio XPS running 64 bit Win 7 pro.
As of lately my mouse and keyboard sometimes just stop working. It seems to happen more often while I'm playing games (but that's mostly what I do so not sure if that has anything to do with it ). Usually before it happens I'll hear the usb sound and the mouse will disconnect and reconnect and it'll work fine then just out of the blue it'll disconnect and that's that. I have to shutdown and restart. It only just started doing this a couple weeks ago. My mouse is a logitech UAE-96 (I think) and the keyboard is a microsoft ergonomic 4000, its an ASUS MoBo, I've checked keyboard drivers and they are up to date and I've also checked my usb drivers, also up to date.
was left in with a bad virus, her windows profile was corrupted and couldnt log in, i recovered her files, and completely formatted the hdd useing hirens boot disk reinstalled windows and everything seemed fine,
was haveing trouble finding the wireless drivers so used my drivers dvd(driver solutions 12) and allowed it to update all drivers, everything still seemed fine
now i come in today to finish off install software etc.. and iv no keyboard or mouse, works fine with a usb mouse and keyboard, and the laptops own mouse and keyboard work fine in bios
I have purchased Sony VAIO E series three months back working without any issues. But after 2 months, the built-in keyboard and mouse not working after windows starts. USB mouse and other features working without any issues. To make the keyboard and mouse, i have should restart the system 2 to 3 times or uninstall the driver for same. The laptop having Windows 7 Home Premium. After the problem, i have reinstalled Windows 7 Enterprise and also did built-in system recover. Still the problem persists. Is the problem related to Windows 7 or with hardware? But once the keyword and mouse drivers uninstalled via device manager working fine. OS is 64 bit
While housecleaning I unplugged everything from my computer, dusted, and plugged everything back in, though I probably didn't put all the USB devices in the same order as before. Now my HDMI interface doesn't work, and the mouse and keyboard only work in safe mode. When I boot into normal mode, there's no cursor and no response to keyboard. What could have gone wrong?
So I have a little problem with my mouse and keyboard. It stops working at the login screen. The same thing happens when I try to log on safe mode, etc.
i just bought a new mouse and i wanted to install it. i couldnt remember which usb cable was my mouse and which was my keyboard so i unplugged one, wiggled the mouse, unplugged the other, the mousewasnt moving so i plugged it into that one. After that i noticed the new mouse worked but the keyboard stopped working. I restarted the computer and the problem im having now is that the keyboard works in BIOS etc but once windows 7 loads to the login, it stops working as does the mouse
I bought a SSD, installed it, installed Windows 7 Ultimate. Got into windows and everything was fantastic. Installed all the windows updates, video card drivers, ect... Then rebooted the computer and lo and behold, it doesn't recognize the SSD as a valid boot device anymore. Assuming that the install corrupted somehow, I decided to run startup repair on the Windows 7 disk. However once the disk gets past "Windows is loading files" all the lights on my mouse and keyboard shut off and they stop working. However up until that point they work fine, if I go into BIOS they work no problem. I have no idea what the issue is... I literally JUST used this same disk to install windows 7 and had no issues less than 30 minutes ago... The only advice I've been able to find thus far has been to ensure that legacy USB settings are enabled, and they are. Also, if I boot into windows on a different drive that has the OS installed my mouse and keyboard work just fine in windows as well. As it stands now I cannot fix my windows install or even reinstall windows...However up until that point they work fine, if I go into BIOS they work no problem. I have no idea what the issue is..
Whenever I start my computer and it gets to the Windows 7 login screen, my mouse and keyboard won't respondThey work in BIOS but once Windows 7 starts to boot up...nothing!My PC doesn't have any PS/2 ports on it, only USB so I can't even access my Desktop to see if the driver are enabled or if the Power Management options are right.I can't do a "Last Known System Configuration" because F8 won't work.[CODE]
I'm buying a new desktop and I am wondering if I can use this wireless keyboard and mouse during the first boot up (windows 7)Keyboard and mouse: [URL]
The laptop I'm working on (And HP G series; running Windows 7 64bit Home Premium) had a NASTY trojan that disabled the keyboard and mouse (is what I'm assuming). I was able to work on the laptop with a USB mouse and the onscreen keyboardAfter going through about 10 AV software I finally got rid of all the Trojans (the scans on various AV software ran clean multiple times after removal); but the keyboard and trackpad continue to be disabled.Under the Device Manager it lists as the device as a "code 10" error.Doing some Googling I found a post that said do delete the registry entries that were labeled "UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters"; which I did and I rebooted. Now my USB mouse OR my USB keyboard won't work.I tried using a Linux Live CD and the trackpad and keyboard DOES work there no problem. Also the keyboard works fine when I'm in the BIOS.It's only when I'm in Windows (even in Safe Mode) that the keyboard/trackpad/USB Mouse/USB Keyboard doesn't work...so it's not a hardware problem.Things I've tried (besides deleting those registry entries)- Startup Repair- sfc /scannow- Reinstall the drivers (when I DID have access to Keyboard and Mouse)So to recap; I cannot use the keyboard/trackpad (or a USB Mouse and USB Keyboard) in Windows (including safe mode); but they DO work when not using Windows.
my keyboard and mouse doesnt work when i boot my pc..but when i tried it again and again only my mouse will work but during startup repair it will not function again...whats the problem with my pc? is it the mouse and keyboard or its inside the cpu ?
So my keyboard and mouse are completely usable in the bios and during boot, but once the windows login screen opens up, there is a 30+ second delay before the keyboard and mouse become active. This doesn't appear to be a freeze or lag of any type, just like the keyboard and mouse hasn't been recognized yet. I have a printer and several external drives connected to my computer's USB ports, so I tried unplugging everything but the keyboard and mouse. The time goes down to about 5 seconds, however, the last few times I've tried, there was about a 10 second wait for the mouse to work after the keyboard worked. With only the mouse and keyboard plugged in, I feel this must be either 1) an issue with drivers loading or 2) a specific issue with my USB drivers. Here's what I've done so far to try and troubleshoot. Not sure what to do next.Used google (couldn't find anything that looked related enough to try)Unplugged everything but keyboard and mouse from USB ports - Decreased lag time to 5-15 secondsenabled boot logging, checked file for drivers not loading (attached)Checked bios for legacy USB enabled (it was)Double checked AV software (only MS Security Essentials and Malwarebytes installed, malwarebytes does not run any processes unless I start it up)Having multiple USB devices plugged in upon boot should not delay the usability of my keyboard and mouse.
