My m'board is Gigabyte GA-K8U-939 with Athlon X2 2.6 GHz and 3GB DDR. Windows 7 x64 detected the card but had an yellow symbol with the status code 43. Aero could not be enabled because of that. A poster torrentg seems to have sorted out this particular issue for a lot of people. I tried all his suggestions but the code 43 exists.
I have a Sapphire Radeon HD3850 AGP card in my system but windows will not install the driver from the latest release of the ATI Catalyst driver install. Instead it defaults to the Standard VGA
From what i have read on these forums i may need to change some information the CH87739.inf file for the driver.
I see a memeber called torrentg had posted a modified .inf file but the download limit has been reached. Is there any chance of posting again? Or perhaps positing its contents into the replay.
My story is simple, I bought a Sapphire HD 3850 512mb DDR3 !AGP! and i want 9.6 catalyst drivers installed NOW!
Well, I had to manually install the drivers first. So make sure your drivers are already extracted to your c: or w/e.
www.otleague.net/stuff/9.6_32_bit_hotfix.zip
This link will take you to my Problem Step Recorded (psr.exe) movie of how I got my drivers from the 9.6 Catalyst.
After I restarted I than installed the CCC from the C:atiSupport9-6_agp-hotfix_vista32_dd_cccSetup.exe. (hotfixs are for AGP cards only) You can use the setup know beacuse it doesn't need to install your drivers And boom I hope it works for you, like it has for me.
It took me close to a week of trail and error to get this answer.
I recently got a ATI 3850 for my PC, i set everything up and i come to install the CCC & Driver i get an error message which says Failed To Load Detection Driver when i boot my PC in safe mode the monitor is clear which is normal but when i boot it normally (Windows 7 64 Home) i get lines going horizontal across my screen.
I have Radeon HD 3850 AGP and Windows 7, and I tried to do almost everything .I installed 9.12 drivers, 9.12 drivers with adding CL_91526 from the topic above), 9.11 drivers,9.11 drivers with Hotfix (ATI), 9.11 drivers with adding CL_91526, manual driver install by right click.Absolutely no changes and everytime the same ... During and after installing (before reboot) no changes in Device Manager, having "ATI Radeon 3850 " (or "ATI Radeon 3800 series" or something like that...) with yellow triangle and Microsoft Co. driver. And after reboot no changes with it, an error message with something like "Driver didn't install correctly, please install proper driver" ( though in ATI install log you can see that everything was installed succesfully). So after reboot I still see my VGA like "ATI Radeon 3800 series" with Microsoft driver and of course no changes in monitor resolution and all. If I try to delete microsoft driver (and device), and then install radeon drivers , during installation I absolutely just don't have any VGA in Device manager. And after reboot Windows 7 "finds" VGA and install from internet microsoft driver, so I can see "ATI Radeon HD 3850 (Microsoft Corporation WDDM 1.1)" in Device Manager.
i have a sapphire HD 5770 a little over a yr now and recently it started giving problems and now it does not wrk most of the time. what happens is that when the computer is turned on the card starts up (the lights on the back of the card light up green and soon after they start to flicker and turn off and the fan spins really fast and loud as if there is no six pin power connector in the card. i gave it to a friend to check it for me and it wrked in his system for about 4 days str8 the started to chip off.
i don't know if the video card and the graphics card is the same thing (because im not from UK or USA). my problem is that i have installed the driver and by the devices appears a yellow sign that shows that i have installed nothing what should i do ? my card is : ati radeon saphire x1550 (if someone didn't understand that what i wrote plz ask me for more explanations)
i installed Windows 7 Professional 32bit on My GPU is compatible with Aero, why I can't use it? I tried to install all windows drivers, but it doesn't work.
I recently looked into this cards performance and even used furmark to benchmark test it. THIS program made the card reach 91c before I stopped it.I recently got MSI Afterburner to test it out even more accurately and it gave me readings of 79c only after maybe 4-5 minutes of play on Metro 2033 with High settings. It just worries me that it may be overheating at times.
Had a frustrating afternoon trying to get my triple-monitor setup going again; I had WinXP for years with two video cards: a single, simple VGA / PCI card, and a recent Radeon HD 4670 card with two outputs. Under XP everything was recognized without incident, first repeating all three monitors and then able to extend windows to this monitor under Display Preferences.
Now under Windows 7 RC, I did a fresh install with both cards inserted, and only the single VGA card would drive its monitor. The HD 4670 drivers are listed in the Device Manager, I removed and installed the ATI 9.9 version software several times, and the single VGA output is the only thing I get. I even tried the 'F8', selected the unsigned drivers, and still it didn't bring the Radeon to life.
I pulled the single VGA card out, and bam the two monitors off the Radeon come alive. I install the CCC and it works just fine. And then I shutdown, add the VGA card back, and get the single VGA output again.
I'm currently using xp home edition and I just bought the SAPPHIRE RADEON HD 4650 1G AGP. The current version of my driver is 8.620.0.0. I found out that there was new updates for the driver. When I tried to make them a bug came in my system. I tried manually to locate the files for the update but still didn't work.
Device Manager is showing the Display Adapter as "VirtualBox Graphics Adapter" I want it to recognise my Sapphire Radeon X1650 Graphics Card so that i can install the appropriate ATI Drivers. How can I do this.
On a similar note my on - board Sound Chip has not been identified properly and again i would like to correct this and install the correct drivers.
In devicemanager i have displayer Radeon 9600 tx (microsoft corporation - WDDM) but on the symbol is a yellow sign with a exlamation mark in it. Rightclick+properties tell me:
"Dieses Gerät wurde angehalten, weil es Fehler gemeldet hat. (Code 43)"
Furthermore it seems i have no advanced graphics. e.g. i cant change display resolution.
My new HD 4670 displays a Code 43 at the Device Manager. I installed the latest catalyst version and even the agp hotfix, they don't work. Any suggestions?
upgrade my system from Windows XP Pro SP3. The setup starts and gets past creating a user account, setting a computer name etc and then restarts and looks like Windows 7 is going to startup and then I get a BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH with:
STOP: C000021a [Fatal System Error}
The intial session process or system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x00000000 (0xC0000001 0x00100400)
It then mentions about dumping the memory out to disk and reboots. If i press F8 and attempt to boot SAFE MODE I get a requester saying that setup cannot be completed in Safe Mode. If try the startup recovery the first time it says it fixed a problem and wants to restart again but it has fixed nothing. Next time the startup recovery just runs and doesn't appear to finish.
I have run the Windows Memeory Diagnostic within the setup and memory checks out fine. I initially thought the onboad audio chipset was the issue and disabled that but it made no difference. I did get one successful installation but it eventually crashed and burned with the same error after approximately 12 hours.
I downloaded and installed Win7 RC just last night and found great difficulty installing the video driver. I wiped the drive and did a clean install. I made sure to download the current Win 7 Beta driver from ATI's web site with the same results as elvispresley; The driver doesn't install and windows says it didn't install correctly.
This I repeated several times removing the driver and trying to reinstall. I downloaded the Vista 32 driver and had the same problem. Then I went so far as to attempt updating the driver in the device manager and pointing to where the driver was and windows 7 still could not see it and could not install it. I don't get it. Any help?
I recently installed Windows 7 (64 bit) on my computer and I have yet to get working drivers for my Poworcolor 3850 AGP card. I've tried all the Catalyst suites, inlcuding those with hotfixes. I've tried manually installing multiple drivers through the Device Manager and still no dice. Everything else hardware wise runs just fine. Any ideas?
Instructions for installing ATI HD 2400 PRO AGP, ATI HD 3850 AGP, ATI HD 3650 AGP, ATI HD 3450 AGP, ATI HD 4650 AGP, ATI HD 2600 PRO AGP
ALL MODELS x86 32-bit WDDM 1.1:
1) Download the Catalyst 9.11 32-bit driver Suite for Windows 7 from here - Drivers & Support | GAME.AMD.COM - Click on
ATI Radeon™ Video Card Drivers
2) Extract the driver folder by running the .exe you downloaded. It will extract to C:ATI
3) Close installer after extraction. No longer necessary. Do not continue with install here.
4) Download my attachment (CL_91526.rar) and extract the .inf file from it. Save to desktop or anywhere you want.
5) Copy and paste the CL_91526.inf you just extracted directly overwriting the original at this location - C:ATISupport9-11_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enuDriverPackagesDriversDisplayW7_INF
6) Go to device manager and right click on your video card. (Standard VGA or otherwise.) Update driver software, browse my computer, let me pick, have disk, browse.
7) Navigate to C:ATISupport9-11_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enuDriverPackagesDriversDisplayW7_INF
8) Click (or double click) on the CL_91526.inf
9) Click ok, then click next and let it install. If it complains that it is not signed, click the part to let it install anyway.
10) Reboot if necessary. Pick an Aero theme by right clicking on desktop, Personalize. (If you previously had a working driver from ATI's site installed, you may skip this step.)
11) Run setup.exe in C:ATISupport9-11_vista32_win7_32_dd_ccc_wdm_enuDriver
and let it complete to install the CCC, should you want the functionality. Custom mode is best used here instead of express mode, when it asks.
12) Install ATI Tray Tools (attsetup.rar in my attachments) if you wish to overclock. Ensure adequate cooling. Disclaimer - Should you choose to overclock, responsibility falls entirely on you.
13) Update your WEI score. Start menu | right click Computer | Properties | click Windows Experience Index
If you have a different AGP card, let me know. I will make you a custom .inf.
Did anybody know when will be released sapphire's ATi drivers for windows 7.
Because official ATi-AMD drivers for windows 7 don't work on my graphic card witch is HD3650 AGP also drivers for vista don't work it installs only CCC but not the display drivers.
Quote: Originally Posted by torrentg That method should work with the hotfix driver but it also works well for the normal non-hotfix Catalyst driver too, even though the card is AGP. I don't use hotfixes any longer as they haven't been necessary for many months. The only thing I can think of is that you're using the wrong .inf in either the wrong folder or right one. (Or again, could be chipset but I'd try this first.)Download the normal Catalyst 9.9 32 bit for Windows 7 and extract it to C:ATI.Here is the .inf you should use. Download it and copy/paste it directly over the existing one in C:ATISupport9-9_vista32_win7_32..:1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting Now install using device manager the same as you did before.
I purchased my new computer on Christmas 2008 due to the sales they had that day. When I first got it, it work perfectly fine without even downloading the drivers. I'm a developer for a game and I use various software needed for graphics editing. I play a 10 year old game (Sony's Infantry) almost everyday on average for 1 to 3 hours a day and my system temps are pretty normal. Around 40-50C temps when playing. I use compressed air every 2 weeks and my case is nice and tidy so there's no dust bunnies or anything of that sort. The problem arose during the month of August 2009. There were no artifacts or blue screens or anything like that. The computer would just suddenly turn off on its own and when I tried to power it on, it did not display a picture. I saw the CPU fans spinning, the HDDs were running, all the cables are connected properly, the video card (sapphire 4850) fan was on and there's 1 beep code.
I asked my friend to borrow his old 8600GT and my computer worked normally. He suggests that my PSU may not be supplying enough juice to the GPU. I thought it might have been the mobo. But my friend is more knowledable than I am. I ended up buying a new PSU. The PSU ended up not solving the problem. Then I buy the same exact card that gave me the problem and a new motherboard and installed the drivers.. that didnt do it either. With basically a brand new computer minus the RAM, I end up with the same results.

im not too good at computers but i just got a new graphics card for my pc, its a sapphire 6790, today i saw there were new drivers available and when i downloaded it and installed it windows shutdown and then when it started back up everything, icons etc were all large, this is the download i did which a guy on bf3 advised me to do which may not of been the smartest option but anyways
Well I do not really know where to start. I've bought myself a new computer and I'm trying to set it up and completing updating stuff.
And Everything goes smooth until the installation of my new Sapphire Radeon Hd 5870 Graphic card.
I'm not any expert in this field and could really need some help, directions or what to look after to make it work.
I'm able to install all except the actual driver. The drivers I'm trying to install is latest from Ati's homepage.
The error message i get is following:
"Driver install: user must be a member of the administrators group"
Error During installation of newest Drivers
I've tried right clicking and Run as Administrator but nothing changed and I still got the same "result" or problem after that.
I've checked in my Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Local Users and Groups -> Users
And there I've checked that my User is a member of Administrators.
I've tried starting up a game (Aion to be correct) and got this error: Error Message Starting up Aion
I've tried to install new drivers by selecting the location off the driver but then windows gave me a message that said following:
"Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date"
Picture shows Advanced settings in Screen Resolution Picture off Advanced Screen Res. Settings
On my Motherboard, Asus Rampage II Extreme, It said that if you were running a single GPU card it should stand at the top Pci-e slot, so it's mounted after the manual.
I don't know if that makes me unable to try the 2nd or 3rd Pci-e slot to test the actual slot or not?
Installed Graphics Card drivers - newest from website
Reboot - CRASH - have to boot in Safe Mode & restore to earlier version as system will no longer start properly.
Why? What did I do wrong?
Until attempting to install the proper drivers, it would appear the system is using a default VGA adapter, and not seeing as PCI-e? Are there special drivers to install for the PCI-e boards?
I am using windows 7 64 bit on my desktop (motherboard ASUS P5E) ASUS - Motherboards- ASUS P5E And I installed VGA SAPPHIRE HD 3870 (ATI RADEON Technology) 512 MB.This VGA has a converter plug from DVI to HDMI.connected a 3 m HDMI cable from a converter to the Samsung TV.I can see a picture on the TV but no sound?
1- download latest driver from AMD website from the link below : AMD Catalyst
2- Follow the instructions here : How to Set Up Audio on an ATI Radeon HD | [URL] No audio from HDTV when playing audio / video from a computer system
3- Digital Audio (HDMI) option was grayed out (not clickable) as can be seen in the snapshot below :[URL]
I have purchased and downloaded both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows7 Professional (no CDs or media here only download version)
I sucessfully upgraded from Vista 32 to Windows 7 32
Then I upgraded my hard disk (140Gb 500GB) and RAM (3GB to to 4GB)
Now I would like to go from Windows 7 32bit to 64bit
When I try and run the Windows 7-P-retail-en-us.x64.exe file it upacks the box then stops with this error:"We are unable to create or save files in the folder in which this application was downloaded. Please check the folder properties to make sure that you have security permission on the folder to write flies and that that folder is not read only".
I am the System Admin and I have full rights, and have moved the exe and the setup box files to My Documentsand I have modified the directory properties/attributes but I still get the same error over and over.
I searched the posts and some people stated one needs a clean install others say you can upgrade from any version so I am trying the upgrade here especially since the upgrade from Vista 32 to Windows 7 32 was smooth and did require all the extra work of a reinstall.
