I have been adjusting my DRAM timings in the BIOS and lose the ability to reboot onto Windows 7 64-bit. So, I power down and reboot and I get a black/blank screen and 2 beeps from the MB. So, I turn off my computer and I have to remove my Graphics card to access the OS again. Can anyone suggest an option or two that will help me restore to SLI mode?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently built a new computer (specs below) and have been having intermittent issues upon power on/restart with my monitor displaying 'Cannot Display This Video Mode' and above that 'Optimum Resolution 1920x1200 60Hz'. I may have to power off/power on the computer one or two times before the computer loads completely to windows 7 login. Other times - the computer starts completely fine. As this is a fresh build (1 week old), I have loaded all the newest drivers from the appropriate websites.I have no problem playing any games in their highest settings (SWTOR, BF3, WOW, ETC.) and have no issues with anything once I can make it to the windows login. I have been reading forum after forum to find a solution to my problem without any luck. I read that unplugging the monitor may help the issue, and the last time it gave me that video mode message, I tried that - and it worked. I am running the monitor (DELL EF248WFP in 1920x1200 resolution, 60Hz) through the DVI connector on my MSI HD 7970.

I brough a Samsung notebook recently and found that it will go to sleep mode automatically when I close the display. I tried to change the action of closing display in the power settings, however, I found that the options are dimmed and I cannot change it. Could anyone teach me how can I change it? View 6 Replies View RelatedI just built a new computer and first couple boot ups everything worked fine, but when I tried it the next day I got "Cannot Display Video Mode"and then after the system reset itself the screen looks all messed up with these weird vertical yellow dotted lines. I've tried reinstalling the drivers nothing works. System says Error 43 and it stopped the video card. There is no integrated video on my motherboard. After installing drivers it does the same thing before, I have tried doing clean installs.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem with 2 displays connected to my ATI HD4770 Video Card running the latest 10.12 drivers and AMD Control Center.
I have 2 displays connected to the card.
The display 1 (Samsung Syncmaster 225BW) runs at 1680 x 1050 and is the Main display with the Windows 7 Start Menu.
The display 2 (Phillips Brillance 230W) runs at 1920 x 1200. Physically it is located on the left side of display one.
I arrange the display either by using the Display / Screen Resolution Control Panel Applet or the Catalyst Control Center Desktops & Displays Applet.
Both works fine (drag display 2 to the left side of display 1, chance resolution from 1680 x 1050 to 1920 x 1200.
But when I restart my machine, after the reboot has finished and the desktop appears, my display settings are exactly as before the reboot.
But when Catalyst Control Center loads, it switches the display and reduces the resolution of the bigger one to that of the smaller main display.
Every time I have to manually restore my custom display settings (Arrangement, different resolution) Is there someone in Windows 7 forum which is expert for ATI and CCC running multiple displays in handling those glitches?
I'm having a problem with my display, it's showing as if it were in safe mode, with the icons stretched out. However, it's not in safe mode I have started it in normal mode. The resolution is showing as 1024 x 768.

Whenever I resume my session out of sleep mode by hitting either a key on my keyboard or mouse, my PC fires up, but the display doesn't come back, almost as if I had pulled out the cable from the monitor. The PC is running normally as this is going on, and the only way for me to get my display back is to do a hard reset.

First: When I'm running Win 7 my display is flickering. It just looks like bad reception on a TV station. When it gets too bad the display turns blak and after a second everything is fine and it starts all over again.
Second: After a while Windows states that there is a problem with the Nvidia windows kernel mode driver, version 186.81 and that it has been restored. (This info is given after the screen turns black).
I think that there is a connection between those two problems but I don't know how to solve it.
I've got a nVidia Geforce 9650m GT grafics card and after I installed win 7 downloaded and installed the driver.
It is even worse when aero is running.
In Vista everything was fine.
I'm having a problem with my notebook. It keeps turning display off after idle for 2 or 3 minutes and going into sleep mode around five minutes after that. I did change and set power system in control panel many times but it did not work. I'm running on Window 7 home basic 64 bit.

View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday morning I started my laptop and it was frozen at the Acer screen. After I restarted a few times I called acer tech support. Via remote access the tech support agent was able to see that, even though I have McAfee installed, my computer had trojans and a lot of files had been affected. He told me he could fix it but it would cost $200 which I can't afford right now. So I ordered the windows 7 reinstall disc and hung up. I decided to try doing a system resore back to factory settings. I began the restore and had no problems. Then when the computer went to automaticaly restart it continued to remain stuck on the acer load screen but I found that if I left it alone for about 45 minutes it would automatically restart and continue with the restore process, adding files and whatnot. My newest problem is that the restore is stuck. It started loading Office 2010 and has been doing it for 12 hours now.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony Vaio which runs on windows 7 (don't know if it's 32 or 64?). I don't have any back up discs.
Computer started doing windows updates, when I turned the laptop on the next day it won't boot up normally or in safe mode. If I click on repair computer it scans and goes through the process but in the end it just takes me back to the same screen. I've tried to restore and I have several points come up in the list but it says beside them enable system protection for this (C Drive).
The only option I have is to put it back to factory settings which I would really like to avoid as I don't want to loose all my files. I have some of them on USB but not all.
I have just installed win7 and I'm getting problems with it.
Whenever I play games after 2-5mins I get a black screen and a pop up saying "display driver windows kernel mode nvlddmkm version 195.62 has stopped responding and has recovered"
This is very annoying because i never had any such issue with win XP
I have the latest Nvidia drivers 195.62 but i can't fix this, i also tried to reinstall drivers in safe mode but I'm still having this issue.
I also ran memtest86+, my RAM has no issues.
Can anyone help me?
I've just ran a full system restore on my niece's Dell Inspiron N5030 which runs Windows 7. After the restore the laptop restarted and went into the setup screen... then it tells me it's unable to continue the setup whilst in safe mode and asks me to restart...thus the loop continues.how to start in normal mode and continue the setup?I've tried going to the black boot screen which has a variety of options including "Start Windows Normally" but none of these worked.

When I came back it had frozen, I hadn't been doing anything untoward, I had been running a few programs at once, just like firefox and word. Anyway I had to turn it off with the power button. Then when I tried turning it back on I was able to log in but there was no desktop, just a black screen, same thing when I used safe mode. Now whenever I turn it on it goes to a disc check and when it gets to a certain number it says its unreadable and safe search just plain doesn't work. I'm gonna lose all my files. But I found out (too late) that according to Microsoft, System Restore done in Safe Mode is not able to be undone.I lost 1,000's of photos doing the system restore, now the only restore point option visible is what I believe to be the new one after I did the restore. The install went ok, I even managed to restart my computer a few times after but after windows updates installed it won't boot. I tried to boot into safe mode, restore from the installer, and repair, none worked. I rebooted normally and the screen went to "configuring updates" and stuck at 67% for about an hour. I got frustrated with it and rebooted to safe mode to see if I could do a system restore and when I did it said there was no restore point back up! So I rebooted normally and now it is still just sitting on the "Preparing to Configure Windows" screen with the circle spinning. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate on a Dell Dimension 2400.

I'm using the display port on my Lenovo thinkpad, and using a converter to connect an HDMI cord from my computer display port to my TV. However, when connecting, I get an image on my TV screen for several seconds, then I get the message "not supported mode."I've got into my control panel and adjusted the screen resolution, setting the TV resolution to highest (1920 x 1080). The computer screen is set at a refresh rate of 60hz, but the only option I have for the TV is 30hz, interlaced.Lastly, I have three hdmi ports on the TV. The closest I've gotten to getting this to work is plugging the HDMI cord into port 3, which is set as "game" on the TV settings.
Does anyone have any further recommendations on how I can get this to work? When the image shows for 5 seconds on the first port, it's very clear, but then goes to "Not Supported Mode". The third port shows the image, but is very fuzzy with lines shaking across the screen, so clearly, neither of these options are currently working.
I've got a VAIO VGN-FE11M and got some "display troubles". Everytime I close my laptop the screen stays turned off for ever. Is there any solution?

Its been running for about 3 days now and has not been running properly from day one. It just freezes up and the screen goes black randomly. I get an error message that tells me the display drivers have stopped responding and recovered. It happens pretty often and I everytime I've tried to play a video it starts to act crazy. I have an EVGA Nvidia Geforce 9400GT 1GB Graphics card and I was using the 275.33 drivers but someone suggested going to a previous driver so now I am running 266.58.
