View 2 RepliesI have just finished my first custom build pc and everything is up and running great. But there is a couple of problems, the biggest one being that windows 7 seems to be stuck in classic theme. I am running windows 7 home on my core i5 2500k with a radeon hd 6770. I have tried all sorts of things and can not get this fixed.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed an update was available for windows, or maybe it already updated. But when I tried to click on the little flag in the task bar it said it could not connect to windows server. I tried restarting my computer and thats when everything went crazy. The brightness automatically lowers, it looks like it is in classic mode, no sound, cannot use usb, nothing will open it shows it is trying but thats all. I dont know what I did or what happened. I tried to upgrade it to windows 7 ultimate but i am getting an error with that. If I buy the windows 8 upgrade would that work and fix the problems or would I need to reformat the hard drive and completely reinstall windows.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just installed win7 and I'm getting problems with it.
Whenever I play games after 2-5mins I get a black screen and a pop up saying "display driver windows kernel mode nvlddmkm version 195.62 has stopped responding and has recovered"
This is very annoying because i never had any such issue with win XP
I have the latest Nvidia drivers 195.62 but i can't fix this, i also tried to reinstall drivers in safe mode but I'm still having this issue.
I also ran memtest86+, my RAM has no issues.
Can anyone help me?
I've got some minor problems but still I find them quite annoying.
First: When I'm running Win 7 my display is flickering. It just looks like bad reception on a TV station. When it gets too bad the display turns blak and after a second everything is fine and it starts all over again.
Second: After a while Windows states that there is a problem with the Nvidia windows kernel mode driver, version 186.81 and that it has been restored. (This info is given after the screen turns black).
I think that there is a connection between those two problems but I don't know how to solve it.
I've got a nVidia Geforce 9650m GT grafics card and after I installed win 7 downloaded and installed the driver.
It is even worse when aero is running.
In Vista everything was fine.
I not able to connect TVS MSP 455 XL Classic printer from Windows XP 32bit to Windows 7 64bit.

I've tried reinstalling the drivers nothing works. System says Error 43 and it stopped the video card. There is no integrated video on my motherboard. After installing drivers it does the same thing before, I have tried doing clean installs.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently built a new computer (specs below) and have been having intermittent issues upon power on/restart with my monitor displaying 'Cannot Display This Video Mode' and above that 'Optimum Resolution 1920x1200 60Hz'. I may have to power off/power on the computer one or two times before the computer loads completely to windows 7 login. Other times - the computer starts completely fine. As this is a fresh build (1 week old), I have loaded all the newest drivers from the appropriate websites.I have no problem playing any games in their highest settings (SWTOR, BF3, WOW, ETC.) and have no issues with anything once I can make it to the windows login. I have been reading forum after forum to find a solution to my problem without any luck. I read that unplugging the monitor may help the issue, and the last time it gave me that video mode message, I tried that - and it worked. I am running the monitor (DELL EF248WFP in 1920x1200 resolution, 60Hz) through the DVI connector on my MSI HD 7970.

Can anyone suggest an option or two that will help me restore to SLI mode?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have experienced a very annoying problem with Windows 7: after each reboot, most of the files modified during the session revert to their original state. To put it plainly, folders and files that have been removed suddenly reappear, files and documents that have been changed revert to their original content, and so on.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery few minutes when I have an application or window up (doesn't matter which one), the window goes out of focus as if I clicked on the desktop. It's been going on for months and I've restarted my pc a lot of times since then, and force quitted many things from the task manager to narrow it down but I still don't know what's causing it. It's a real problem if I'm playing a game because it just switches to the desktop in the middle playing, without warning
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust recently was doing some additional overclocking on my PC and had this happening just now. Whenever I resume my session out of sleep mode by hitting either a key on my keyboard or mouse, my PC fires up, but the display doesn't come back, almost as if I had pulled out the cable from the monitor. The PC is running normally as this is going on, and the only way for me to get my display back is to do a hard reset.

I have been into control panel and gone through the windows troubleshooting advice and it tells me that it has found and fixed problems with my Windows update and installed 9 updates. When I click to restart I get the same failure message at startup. It seems to recycle the startup procedure 3 times before it eventually gets to my desktop page, and when I look ar my update history there is a long list of failed installations.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using dual monitors in windows 7 for at least a year or more. For a long time I had it set up with monitor two over monitor one, but now I have altered the physical layout to side by side and want the monitors to reflect this. I have changed it to being side by side in the appropriate windows settings location and in the NVIDIA control panel both, yet when I open a new program (whether it is a game, browser, or media player) it changes back to the old over/under set up. Is there some way I could lock it to the side by side?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire 7741z-4433 with an Intel(R) Pentium(R) p6200 (2.13 GHz, 3MB 1.3 cache). This only happens to me while I am playing The Sims 3. I have the game set on the lowest quality settings, even though my laptop "claims" to be HD LED, etc. This issue still happens. As you may know I cannot replace the graphics card as it is apart of the motherboard, and to buy a new motherboard with a better graphics card would cost more than a new computer. I have been the my manufacture's website and tried installing an update of the graphics card, and that didn't do the trick either. I am at my wits end, and I just want to play the game without it shutting down and freezing my computer. The reason I know the error is because I do Alt + Tab to get back to the desktop. The way it acts up while I am in game is the screen blacks out but I can still see the software's mouse, and then it blinks a couple times and then freezes completely?
