I have ported all classic appearance themes what you have seen in Windows 98/2000/ME, such as Bricks Desert Eggplant Liac Maple Marine Plum Pumplkin Rainy day Red blue white Rose Slate Spruce Storm Teal Wheat I feel the nostalgie with them. Maybe you will like them too.
i wanted to know if it was possible to change the color of the task bar, window, text color, and the inside color of each window? I want Green text with black background with "classic theme" Kind of like some of the default "high contrast themes"
I've installed StarDock Deskscapes lately , but I've uninstalled it because of a few bugs . After the uninstall , i can't seem to change themes or access the themes page at all . Any help ? I also got Fences Pro .
Is anyone using Acronis True Image v. 10 with Windows 7? I have used TI 10 for a long time with XP computers and found it satisfactory. However I read postings that suggets TI may not work with Windows 7.
In Windows 7, Microsoft drastically improved the operating systems in-built support for themes. The operating system comes with several stunning themes which include high quality photographs that make great desktop backgrounds. You can also download more themes from the Microsoft theme gallery, or various places on the internet. With the help of this short video guide you'll be able to add and change basic themes to your hearts content.
I have been using Windows 7 backup and restore but never tested out the restore part and frankly dont trust it. Another problem is that I dont have enough room (so says the MS backup program) to backup a 640 GB system disk to a empty 640 GB disk! On top of that, I am not backing everything up and the system disk has some 105 GBs still available!
I have got a license for Acronis True Image Home 2010. To my surprise, I don't like it unlike many other folks who swear on this software.Acronis creates a backup image in .tib or .zip format whereas Windows 7 Backup and Restore creates system image in an encrypted folder (with all files and folders NOT formatted). In either case, backup image becomes ready for "restore". So why keep Acronis? Well, Acronis can backup custom files and folders unlike Windows 7 default program (and, Windows 7 does it, too), however, Acronis does "Create full path (includes drive letter)" which I simply dislike. Fbackup4 (free license), on the other hand, does not do it but does the job the way I want, i.e., creates files and folders the way they are organized (without including drive letter, and without zipping or making some unusual file format). So for data backup, Fbackup4 is better, IMO. I remember, WinXP creates crazy backup file format like Acronis does.Paragon Migrate OS to SSD SE (I have license for this, too) is special in the sense that it can copy the entire OS drive/partition to a blank drive. Very good for drive upgrade.
I recently found a REALLY cool looking theme, and installed it. I was in love with it. After having that theme, I wanted a new start button to go with it. I found, and installed, a new start button. Then I installed a cool cursor. Finally, my wants didn't end. I wanted to get a new icon pack that looked good with the theme. I found a decent, and popular, one. I downloaded it. It came with an installer, so I used it. After installing, it asks me to "re-boot" my computer. I did it, and when I turned it back on my computer was messed up with some "shell32.dll" error. It took me a couple of hours to fix it. Many people recommended a system restore, or to use the "sfc /scannow" command. I did those two things, but they didn't work. I try to restore the system, but ALL my restore points were gone. I tried to do the "sfc /scannow" command, but apparently I didn't have permission. I'm the only user on this computer. How do I not have permission to do something? I ended up fixing it by doing some kind of system repair on start up. Although, now my computer is really slow, and I can't use custom themes for windows 7 anymore! I had a really cool one installed, but now when I turn it on, it just shows up as a dark version of the classic theme. I tried re-downloading, and re-installing it, twice. It still didn't work. It seems like ANY custom theme I get shows up as the theme that messed up my computer. I uninstalled that, but it seems like it's still here. Is there any way I can repair it, and get my custom themes back?
My Dell netbook with Windows 7 tells me that themes are not supported when I attempted to install the PC Advisor Windows 7 screenesavers. I really cannot see the advantages of 7 over Vista!!
Yesterday after doing a malware scan I restarted my computer when I turned it back on my tast bar was old so I checked the themes and windows aero themes have been disabled it also won't let me connect to any networks as it doesn't show any.It won't let me access the network adapter settings but they are definitely enable.
I am new to all of this stuff and I'm looking for a True Blood theme I know that there is one out there because my husband had it on his computer. but now i can't find it. so if there is anyone out there that can help me that would be great.
I recently reset the system to 'True Type' and did not like the appearance and turned off the True Type. However, I'm now left with applications that are still showing either parts of their software in True Type or all of their software's representation in same.Outlook, Bookmarked (on toolbar) Firefox pages, Explorer, and more.Is there not a way to get rid of True Type once selected?
Will try to describe my problem as best I can.I have a 3 yr old Desktop HP PC.If I remember right, it came with "integrated audio," but I might be wrong with this.Have the Creative SoundBlaster audio setup/program too.Just bought a new pair of Logitech desktop speakers. Not too expensive; only about $ 25 or so.Nice sound, but:If I do the speaker test that is on one of their menus (the Creative menu), and click the left speaker, sound comes out of both speakers. Same if I click the right speaker; sound again comes out of both. Now that I am aware of it, DVD's and other sounds also seem monaural from both speakers; each speaker playing the same thing. There are all sorts of options, but I can find none that say "Balance" as I would expect. Also, no balance knob on speakers.
It seems as if the system is working in a monaural mode, rather than stereo. All the cables, etc are stereo, and I am feeding them into the green Line-In jack on the back of the PC.how to change it from, apparently, Monaural to true Stereo. I looked in Device Manager settings for sound, and everywhere else that has a sound option screen, but nothing seems appropriate, or works.I dumped the old speakers, so have no idea if the same with them, or a problem with these new Logitech ones. My "guess" is that the old ones probably played the same way, and my problem is with some setting in ther PC rather than the new speakers, but...?
I have a project I'm doing where I have up to 5 monitors. I have a video that I want to play, but I want it to be FULL SCREEN and stretched to every screen. Is there a software that can do this? I know I could just pull the edges of the window to fit, but that will look tacky and is unacceptable.I know there are hardware solutions, but I would prefer software.
I know both programs have been discussed before but what are the pros and cons of both Macrium and the latest version of Acronis (2011)? or are they pretty equal? I don't mind spending a few bucks on Acronis especially since I still got gift cards form Xmas Acronis looks like it has a "prettier" UI and really I would prefer to have purchase a disk rather that a download but that's not a deal breaker. I was also looking a Norton Ghost 15 but have read some really bad reviews.
I'm installing and configuring truecrypt on windows 7 home premium. Truecrypt as you know is use for maintain secure the data for the user so i implemented truecrypt in the partition D. I have installed windows 7 in the drive C. I moved the folder desktop, documents, pictures and downloads of windows 7 to this drive D that belongs now to truecrypt. My problem comes when i restart the system i can not keep the taskbar with my shortcuts of chrome, thunderbird and others programs. I found out ins this forum some tools to restore and backup the taskbar but it doesn't work well because at the end i see the shortcuts but it doesn't work any one of them.
When I open my library and look at my video files (arranged based on "date modified"), the files that are older than one week are alphabetically listed under "Earlier this week," "Earlier this month" and "Earlier this year." In contrast, when i copy those same files on a memory card (SDHC), they're arranged in true chronological order. I would like the library to show true chronological order (ie not separated by this week, this month, etc), so I could more easily determine which files have been copied over to the media card. How do I do that?
1) Say Computer A has a 1GHz processor and 16-but word size. Computer B has a 2GHz processor and 32-bit word size. Compare the processing speeds of these computers quantitatively. Show calculations.2) Conversion from true-color graphic to black and white. Explain what the conversion did in terms of pixel bytes or bits3) If you run the CPU simulator program, you will find that it uses the system bus 12 times. Explain how this number comes about. (You must explain why based on how cpu operates. This will involve a little arithmetic. Show all)
I have just finished my first custom build pc and everything is up and running great. But there is a couple of problems, the biggest one being that windows 7 seems to be stuck in classic theme. I am running windows 7 home on my core i5 2500k with a radeon hd 6770. I have tried all sorts of things and can not get this fixed.
I recently did a reinstall and I remember there was a way to make my default account have complete control of windows, with full access/rights/permissions/privileges. I did search for it but couldn't find it
I support a small LAN with 7 Windows 7 64-bit desktops for a local charity.
All the desktops have Acronis True Image Home 11 (ATI11) installed and are configures as a HomeGroup. I have been doing an incremental image backup over the network using ATI11 to one of the desktops but lately speed of the backups has become unacceptable.
For a specific example, Two of the desktops are Core I7 machines with GBit network interfaces connected through a GBit switch.
a) If I backup one to the other using ATI11 the backup will take 4-6 hours with network utilization at 3-5%.
b) If I backup the SAME system to its secondary HDD using ATI11 (a local backup) the backup takes about 2 hours.
c) If I then use a simple COPY command to copy the large ATI11 TIB backup file (30-50GB) from the SAME system to the SAME target system the network utilization varies from 25%-60% and the copy takes a, relatively speaking, small amount of time.
Note I get the same results for source systems which only have a 100MB network card except that during the COPY test they use 80-90% of the available network speed.
changing the network cards settings, IPV4 Checksum Offload for example. I tried that and it immediately "broke" the HomeGroup network connection. Question: Why will ATI11 not use more of the available network speed? Neither the source system nor the target system is CPU bound during the ATI11 backup, network or local. Aside from Norton Antivirus there are no other non-MS apps running. Disk Queue Length is not excessive.
I am using win 7 64 bit I got tired of the Ie 9 with the blurry text and its many ways to try and fix it with no results. So i switched to firefox and it was solved right away. But now i discover another problem. Because i like to use windows classic theme with the grey menu bar. But when i use firefox browser and click on the bookmark menu, then it leaves a image or "print" of the bookmark window in my start menu.Look at the screenshot were you can see some remaining text of my bookmark window.I can remove it when i adjust my start menu but it comes back when i use the bookmarks again. This only happens in firefox but when i change the theme to win 7 or any other then it dosent happens. How do i fix this ?
I have been looking for a way to change the logon screen to more of a classic windows look, without success. Then the other day I saw this image on a blog: [URL]. That is basically what I would like to have. DSurely that is a modified logon screen? It does say "Copyright 2008 Microsoft...", so maybe this is from one of the earlier builds of 7?
My main consideration in choosing the appearance of my desktop and windows thereon is clarity, ease of reading any text, and distinguishing between windows at a glance, and also keeping performance to a maximum. To this end, having tried various Aero themes, although I did like the rounded corners of windows, for the sake of clarity I abandoned Aero for my own customized Windows Classic appearance. Not flashy but at least clearer for me than any of the other themes. When I installed Windows 7 I quickly reverted to Windows Classic, and chose for the active window title bar colours dark green as Color 1 and a lightish blue for Color 2 (with yellow text), so there was a gradient from green to blue along the title bar. I'm not bothered about whether anyone else likes that - it's served me well for the best combination of clarity and agreeableness through various Windows versions.
Yesterday I followed a tip from a magazine and ran the Windows 7 screen colour calibration facility. After I'd run that I noticed that all my active windows had just the dark green and no gradient. When I went into the Personalize facility to change that back, I found that Color 2 was greyed out, so that I could not set it again.I know this is a silly little point, but actually the gradient did make the active windows look less severe and 'blocky', and I'd like to restore my ability to set the second colour.Reverting to Aero is no option as far as I'm concerned, for to me multiple windows look to me extremely confusing in Aero, and some taskbar text is difficult to read, no matter what colour / lightness settings one uses.Somehow I doubt whether my calibrating the screen colours had anything to do with the little problem I've run into; I assume it must be just coincidence. I did, however, recently switch to manual a few supposedly non-essential services, and just possibly the change occurred then but I didn't notice it till after I'd done that screen colours calibration.
my case is very similar to the one bellow except Malwarebytes didnt find the error Computer suddenly slow and starts up with non-changeable classic themethe start bar and windows are still in classic and boot time is very very slow ,I have tried system restores b4 problem but that hasnt effected anything ( the first time i did this it worked but when i tried to re download AC3 the problem came back - in the first situation Malware bytes did find something which i deleted
