Oct 16, 2012I am getting this error in device manager over and over and over, i have uninstalled the driver, and reinstalled it over and over, i keep getting the same error, my hauppauge colossus card was working perfectly then all of a sudden i get this error, i have used ccleaner to repair my registry all to no avail, I think i need to do something in the registry to fix this but have no idea exactly what. What do i do?

Jan 12, 2013I have a Nikon Imaging scanner which my PC detects on connection. I have the correct driver which device manager installs with a code 10 error, the device cannot start.My PC is running Windows 7 64bit. I should point out that the scanner works correctly on my old PC running Windows XP, so there is no problem with the hardware. Anyone got any ideas why I might be getting the code 10 error on my new PC?

Nov 1, 2009I've done a fresh install of Windows 7 yesterday on my desktop PC and I want to use the virtual PC for some USB hardware that doesn't have any x64 drivers.
I can choose the USB devices fine in the virtual machine, they are detected and XP starts the usual hardware install wizard.
However one of my devices gets the yellow exclamation mark in the device manager with a code 10 (device cannot start).
The virtual machine runs XP SP3, my laptop runs XP SP3 as well and there is no problem on there with this hardware. This leads me to believe that it might be a windows 7 Vmachine issue that is causing this.
I've tried removing the hardware and installing it again, but that didn't solve the problem.
Any ideas for a possible solution?

May 29, 2012My Toshiba Satellite L755 is receiving the following error at startup:
Check cable connection!
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key
This occurred after I used Toshiba Wizard to clear the hardrive. I was attempting to get everything back it's original state.
So far I have gotten into setup by holding f2 at startup. The boot tab reads:
1. HDD/SSD Hitachi HTS545050B9A300 (S1)
2. USB
3. ODD TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633F (PM)
4. FDD
5. LAN Atheros Boot Agent
I have also tried disconnecting the battery and harddrive and then reconnecting them.

Apr 5, 2012I have a pc that has been running windows 7 pro fine for a couple of years. Today it wont boot stopping with the message: "Windows failed to start.A recent hardware or software change might be the cause."
To fix the problem:
1.Insert windows installation disc and restart your computer
2.Choose your language settings and then click "next"
3.Click "repair your computer".
If you do not have this disc contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

This machine has only one dvd drive and one hdd. I have checked the boot list in the bios settings and the cd drive is first then the hdd second. If I insert the windows 7 cd and press any key to boot from cd when prompted I still end up at the "windows failed to start " screen. At this point I have the option to select "Launch startup repair" or "start windows normally" but I cant select them, the machine just counts down and continues to try to launch startup repair and fails with the 0xc000000e error.

Aug 10, 2012Okay, so this just happened out of nowhere. Nothing seems to have led up to this -- the system booted and shut down successfully, and no software updates or installs were done during the period of time it was on when it was last working. I've attempted many things, but none seem to work. /ScanOs reports no OS detected, while startup repair said the OS was booted successfully. bcdedit also shows no directories linked to "unknown". CHKDSK reports no bad sectors, so such can be discarded. This happens every time I attempt to boot to Windows 7 (Home Edition, x64). I have a copy of Fedora 17 set to dualboot with it

Mar 1, 2010I have an emu 1820m soundcard installed in my computer. It seems to be functioning perfectly. I can play dvd'd, cd's, iTunes, etc and the sound plays through my speakers without a problem. I want to record some sounds from a dvd but i cant get anything to record. Recording device is set to Wave EMU DSP as the default device. Im using Audacity to record and have set the recording preference device to be Wave (E-MU _-DSP). When I hit record I get an error 'Error while opening sound device. Oh and is it appropriate for me to use this topic to ask another question regarding explorer.exe as while i am inside a folder i delete (by choosing delete from the context menu in the tree view) while inside that folder on this particular laptop PC explorer. always crashes, collect information, sends it and restarts explorer. I have not experienced this problem on any other pc running any version of windows 7, oh and the same happened with build 7264 x32 and the current install of build 7600 x64.
Windows 7 Usb Camera Device Shows Up In Device Manager But Not Computer
May 31, 2012Have recently purchased a small usb inspection snake camera with led light and when testing it plugged it into two desktops computers (one xp pro not sure of the other as it was a network work computer) It automatically loaded the drivers and brought up a screen automatically with the realtime image.(no driver disc came with it). However plugging into my windows 7 64bit sony laptop it signals a connection beep, loaded drivers automatically but wouldn't open or show up on my computer disc manager as an external usb source to click on. It does however show up on device manager as a usb camera and when I unplug and replug in it disappears and reappears so I know I have the right camera (not the lap top webcam inbuilt one that shows USB 2 Camera). Have tried updating drivers automatically and uninstalling it etc. Need it to work on the lap top so it can act as the movable screen for it?
