Oct 16, 2012I am getting this error in device manager over and over and over, i have uninstalled the driver, and reinstalled it over and over, i keep getting the same error, my hauppauge colossus card was working perfectly then all of a sudden i get this error, i have used ccleaner to repair my registry all to no avail, I think i need to do something in the registry to fix this but have no idea exactly what. I have the correct driver which device manager installs with a code 10 error, the device cannot start.My PC is running Windows 7 64bit. I should point out that the scanner works correctly on my old PC running Windows XP, so there is no problem with the hardware. Anyone got any ideas why I might be getting the code 10 error on my new PC?

Nov 1, 2009I've done a fresh install of Windows 7 yesterday on my desktop PC and I want to use the virtual PC for some USB hardware that doesn't have any x64 drivers.
I can choose the USB devices fine in the virtual machine, they are detected and XP starts the usual hardware install wizard.
However one of my devices gets the yellow exclamation mark in the device manager with a code 10 (device cannot start).
The virtual machine runs XP SP3, my laptop runs XP SP3 as well and there is no problem on there with this hardware. This leads me to believe that it might be a windows 7 Vmachine issue that is causing this.
I've tried removing the hardware and installing it again, but that didn't solve the problem.
Any ideas for a possible solution?

It always hogs up massive amount of CPU power and goes into (Not Responding) for a min while updating.I only add media files to the Windows Explorer Library so I can get indexed searches. I don't even use WMP to view files or anything. Just to burn some music CDs sometimes.I've tried deleting the files from the WMP library but the next time I open it up, it scans and updates all my files again! Feb 27, 2012I turned my computer on to find no audio playing. My main audio device plays bac audio from DAW just fine but if I load a video in WMP i get a code C00D11B1. If I try to play a test tone in the sound settings I get "Failed to play test tone". I have other audio devices connected and also get the same errors which makes me think this is a registry error or some windows communication error. The only thing I think might have caused this is when I was trying to get my ram to run at 1866. This is a new build and the ram should run at this speed as it is in the QVL but that is another issue. I should also mention that I have tried reloading the device drivers, updated the BIOS, and restyored windows from a previous state with no change.

Dec 1, 2012I am having a problem starting my PC! I have to start it in the boot menu under the RAID option. If I do not do this a message saying "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.." comes up, and just keeps popping up regardless of what I press! I would try using my boot disk but for the life of me I can't find it, and as windows 7 was already installed on this computer when we got it 3 year ago, I can't accurately recall if it came with one!I am no expert on BIOS, but I have read other problems similar to this one, and know that if I don't have the boot disk or the OS disk, I will need to know that at least.I am curious if the (Hard drive) is the issue. The BIOS tells me that anything in parentheses is disabled from corresponding type menu.
