CheckPoint VPN Causing Error #1075

Jul 8, 2011

solving Error #1075 problem in conjunction with CheckPoint VPN NGX R60 HFA3. I am using a Dell E6510 laptop computer running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit OS. I can get this VPN to run and connect when I use Microsoft's XP virtual machine sitting on the Windows 7 desktop but I cannot get it to run on the Windows 7 desktop by itself.Although the VPN seems to load without incident the associated icon "key" does not appear in the notification tray at the lower right. It does appear in the XP virtual machine and on a separate HP desk top running Vista. When I type services.msc at the Win 7 command prompt I get a list of all the loaded services including the CheckPoint VPN. It is at this point when I try to start the VPN I get the 1075 error. When I check the dependencies under the VPN I find the "CheckPoint Office Mode Module" and the "VPN-1 Module".How do I determine if these dependencies are causing the 1075 error message? What steps do I need to take to resolve the error message so the VPN will start?

Error 1075: The Dependency Service Does Not Exist Or Has Been Marked For Deletion

Sep 11, 2010

I have network sharing issues and I believe the problem is that I cannot turn on file/printer sharing. When I click the button under advance sharing settings for file/printer and hit save (as an admin) it just goes back to off. Under Services, the Server option which is on automatic does not start. When I try to start it, it says:Windows could not start the Server service on Local Computer. Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion.

DHCP Client Service Fails To Start (Error 1075)

Jul 13, 2012

On July 12th 2012, my computer installed updates. After rebooting and waiting for me on the login screen, I gave it a hard shutdown to check on the BIOS settings (for a little side project, in the end I did not save any changes). After booting and logging in again, I find that many services are not running. I ran a very thorough check for malware and viruses (took over 24 hours to complete), and still no solutions. I have uninstalled/reinstalled my Broadcom 802.11g Wireless Driver several times.

I now look in the Event Viewer and find that the DHCP Client service is not running! It is set to automatic start in Services.msc, but when I try to manually start it, it gives me error 1075 (some dependencies do not exist or are marked for deletion). Running ipconfig, I notice that my system is using an APIPA-formatted address (169.254.x.x), indicating that the computer couldn't find a DHCP server.

My Event Viewer is peppered with:
Event 7003, Service Control Manager
The DHCP Client service depends the following service: Afd. This service might not be installed.
Event 7001, Service Control Manager
The WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service service depends on the DHCP CLient service which failed to start because of the following error: The dependcy service does not exist or has been marekd for deletion.

And that keeps repeating many times in a minute (about 30-40 cycles of it).

Previous Attempts At Booting This System Have Failed At Checkpoint

Oct 4, 2012

One of my machines has an error message flash by very quickly each time I boot it up. It goes by too fast to read the whole thing, but it starts with "Alert! Previous attempts at booting this system have failed at checkpoint..." The computer is a Dell XPS 8000 and runs Windows 7 64bit. I'm having no problems with the computer at all. The message goes away and Windows 7 continues to boot up just fine. I'm not sure when the message started because I usually hit the power button in the morning and walk away. Is this message indicative of a problem or can it be safely ignored if the computer has no other symptoms? I've searched and only found issues where computers won't boot or have other problems along with the message.

Shrew Soft Vpn Win 7 Compatibility Cisco Checkpoint VPN Client

Feb 26, 2010

I would like to know if Shrewsoft VPN Client can be installed on Windows 7 (32 Bit) with Checkpoint & Cisco Clients already installed. I have both Checkpoint & Cisco Clients installed on Windows 7, with the respective services set to manual, and both clients are co-existing without any problem. Since I also support Juniper SSG boxes, and since Juniper has NOT YET come out with a client which supports Windows 7, I was wondering if I can use Shrewsoft client instead (which is reported to work fine with Juniper SSG).

Previously I had Vista on which all the 3 - namely Checkpoint, Cisco & Juniper (SafeNet) clients were working beautifully. But Vista being Vista, I had no choice but to upgrade to Windows 7.

Usbhub.sys Causing Blue Screen Error?

Feb 25, 2012

I recently bought a USB hub and it casues my desktop to blue screen when shutting down/sleep/hibernating. It's definitly the problem as I have disconnected the hub, and it shutsdown perfectly well.Reconnect thje hub and I get the blue screen again. It's driving me mad. Seven forums have no fixes and all I want to do is shut down properly. The hub works perfectly well, all ports have power and pass information quickly. The driver just doesn't seem to like it. I'd love to find a third party driver that could handle it instead of this Microsoft driver that keeps throwing it's toys out the pram.

Nvstor64 Error Type 3 Is Causing My PC To Hang Repeatedly

Aug 17, 2012

Bottom line up front - my PC is having repeated nvstor64 type 3 errors which cause it to hang and the only way to restart it is to hold the power button in until it shuts down. Full details here:Early July my PC started acting odd. Freezing, running slowly etc.

- I ran a virus scan from windows - nothing

- I ran another virus scan from a Linux CD which found a couple of things but nothing terrible and, after cleaning, the PC was no better.

Chkdsk revealed some lost clusters. I repaired those and ran sfc /scannow to repair the OS, which it did.A day or so later, still acting odd, I ran another chkdsk and...more lost clusters. A disk check utility in Ubuntu reported that the drive was failing so I bought a new drive, cloned the old drive onto it (it was still working) and...nothing! I read a thread that said it could be the sata cable, which didn't make much sense but I replaced it anyway and...still nothing!Another thread suggested updating the disk drivers. When I try to do that it tells me I already have the latest driver installed. Should I uninstall and reinstall anyway? Finally another thread said to update the bios...but I have no idea how to do that or whether it's worth the effort.the nvstor64 errors started on July 4th, about a week before I messed with anything. No idea why they would just start appearing like that but I am still getting the nvstor64 errors about every few minutes and I'm about ready to put a sledgehammer through it.

External USB 3.0 Drive Causing Error In Device Manager

Jan 5, 2013

First I want to say that the drive works without problems at the correct speed. The problems come upon disconnect. I also want to to stress that USB 2.0 discs are working flawlessly. If I use safe eject and the look in the device manager I get an error 47 saying that it has been shut down but not disconnected, it also says I can rectify it by disconnecting and reconnecting but this does not work. If I do so the drive will not be recognized. The enclosure has a power switch. After a safe eject I have tried both pulling the USB cable while power is still on and also going the other way by first shutting the power down. In both cases the error 47 shows in device manager. When this happens the CPU load goes up to about 20% and stays that way when it before was around 0 at idle. If I reboot the drive reconnects and I have no problem with it unless I try to safely eject it again.

Office 2003 Causing Windows Update Error

Jan 15, 2013

I have encountered an extraordinarily odd problem on freshly reformatted Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit machine. I reinstalled Windows, all the updates, then tried to install Office 2003. When returning to Windows Update I got a 8024402F error. I used System Restore to take me back before the installing office, tried Windows Update. Installed Office 2003, same error.

The reason for the reformat was the same error, which I tried to resolve by deleting the SoftwareDistribution folder. It seemed to work, but then a Windows Update attempt hung on checking for updates for nearly 10 minutes. I got frustrated and rebooted, and the machine would not boot at all. Not even in Safe Mode. System Restore via the recovery environment generated numerous errors. No clue what might have caused all this, but needless to say I am reluctant to try solve this error by canning the SoftwareDistribution folder.

Has anyone encountered this? The culprit update must be sometime in the last month or so. The customers first told me about getting errors saying Windows Update was failing about two weeks ago, and said they were around for a while before that.

Old XP Failed Boot Causing Error On Boot

Jun 8, 2012

I upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate from Win XP Pro after my OEM disk picked up a few more scratches than it needed.During a re-installation it partially installed the windows XP setup with an error message of 'HAL.DLL' missing.I believe the residual setup loader is causing problemS.My PC insists on trying to boot from CD/DVD regardless of what I select. If I select boot from CD/DVD with my new Windows 7 disk I get the SAME message as if I didn't select boot from DC/DVD: Windows failed to start. This could be from a recent hardware or software change.

1.Please insert your windows install disk and click restart
2.Change language setting and click next.
3.Click repair... etc.

If you don't have the disk contact admin....ect.

Escape = reboot to error listed above...
Enter = OS choice menu with:

1. 'windows 7'
2 'older verion of windows'

I select the ' older version' and the system gives me the same listed above error...I select 'windows 7' and, well.... here I am, posting this thread from my PC, Windows 7, updated, gageted and all running smoothly...Hibernate sometimes boots and sometimes shows the same error.....Start menu 'Shut down' and 'Restart' also don't work on the odd occasion....I researched and downloaded EasyBCD to delete the 'older version of windows' but it appears to have only 'deleted' it from Windows 7's 'eyes' because ultimately the thing is still showing on my OS choice menu and is evidently causing a few hiccups.

Tdx.sys Causing BSOD

Jan 12, 2009

I have Windows 7 installed on two laptops. One is a Dell Latitude D803 and the other a HP Compaq 6710b. Both would BSOD approximately every 5 minutes. 'TDX.SYS' was the culprit. After running WinDBG I noticed that it was a issue with my network adapter driver 'b57nd60a.sys'. Both laptops have the same network adapter (Broadcom NetLink Gigabit Ethernet) and both were crashing (x32 & x64 versions). I finally went to Broadcom's website and found drivers at the following links:

Broadcom Corporation - Download NetLink Drivers

or

Broadcom Corporation - Download NetLink Drivers

If one doesn't work they other will. Basically when 'TDX.SYS' causes a BSOD it is usually the result of a driver(s) (and some antivirus apps) that aren't fully compatible with Windows 7. You should run WinDBG and find out what driver is causing the error. It's not as hard as you think!

Microsoft's site for using WinDBG:

How to read the small memory dump files that Windows creates for debugging

P.S. Don't worry if you can't get the symbols to install properly. You should still see the file that is probably causing the error listed. If you Google the file(s) you will be on your way to fixing the issue.

I.E pressing the letters will produce capital letters with the exception of "x" and "c" while pressing the numbers will produce the symbols instead. I've found a way to undo this effecT by pressing "shift" several times on the On-screen keyboard , but it will return every time I press the keys mentioned. I had turned off Sticky keys and filter keys but it doesn't make any difference. [This was typed with the onscreen keyboard.]

USBPORT.SYS Causing BSOD

Dec 12, 2009

I just upgraded to Windows 7 (64 bit) last weekend by doing a clean install from a win741.com purchase. I am currently using a HP Pavilion a6500f computer with a 500GB hard drive. I have been getting BSOD errors over the last several days and it is driving me crazy. I am considering going back to XP or Vista if I can't get this fixed soon.

All of the mindump files mention USBPORT.SYS. I'm assuming that has something to do with my usb ports which only have the following items attached:

HP Deskjet F4280 Printer Linksys USB Network Adapter WD 500GB My Passport (plugged in some of the time) I ran Driver Detective to see if there was an out of date USB driver, but nothing showed. I've included some screenshots of the scan.

Video Causing 100% CPU, Followed By Freezes

Jun 8, 2011

I can reproduce freezes - 100% CPU usage, which occasionally lead to crashes pretty consistently just by viewing any video, say bloomberg.com/tv/. CPU usage quickly runs up to 100% on Task Manager and the freeze occurs. No issues when running all my other programs, including streaming radio. I can reproduce this on IE9, as well as Chrome and on Firefox. I had assumed this was a Shockwave Flash item only, but I notice it freezes on Skype video. The only changes I can point to recently are a ton of Windows updates in the last 2 months including SP1. At the time, SP1 failed a couple of times, until I applied a hotfix, now it's on, but I still have the video issues.

I have also by the way downloaded the latest video drivers (accelerated media), bios, and chipset drivers, but this has not helped.

I run Windows 7 64-bit SP1. I have application hang errors in the windows event logs, but not crashes, so I don't see any crash id's

USB Causing Black Screen?

Dec 3, 2011

Recently a friend of mine was installing Window's updates on his computer and the computer crashed. When he tried to boot it up again it would no longer boot. We toyed around with it trying different repairs and such but nothing worked.ventually we just re-installed Windows 7 from the startup disks. Now we're having a different problem that seems to be centered on the usb controllers. If we leave the USB controllers on during bootup the computer will get to the starting windows screen then go black. If we turn them off the computer will boot to windows normally, but obviously the USB ports do not work.It will boot into safe mode with the USB enabled in BIOS but the mouse will not work. (Keyboard is PS/2). We tried getting driver off the disks that came with the system but they don't seem to contain any.Is this even a driver issue or are we missing something completely? The computer was from Cyberpower. It has: -Gigabyte 870A-UD3 motherboard-AMD X6 procressor-8 gigs ram-Radeon HD5780-2 800 watt power supplies (computer came with 2 of the video cards but apparently the MB is not crossfire compatible?

The next day we got a call from one of them saying their computer was acting strange. Once I got there I discovered the pc would freeze when launching Quickbooks or Outlook. I ran a malware scan which turned up nothing. Then after some troublshooting steps I decide to uninstall Kaspersky. I didn't want to leave him with no protection so I installed AVG free. Same outcome. The computer only will operate without antivirus.

Windows 7 Update Causing Boot-up?

Jan 23, 2013

A few days ago, my computer stopped booting up. The splash screen for the mobo showed up, and then I would get a black screen w/ a white flashing cursor and nothing else. I put in my Win7 install disc to try to do a repair, and eventually figured out that if I change my boot sequence in the BIOS so that it goes to the DVD drive 1st and the boot hard drive last, it boots up just fine. I reset to the last recovery point, changed the BIOS back so it would boot from the hard drive 1st, and everything thing worked fine... until it installed the latest Win7 updates. After that, I had the exact same problems. So I changed the BIOS again as a temporary solution, and then I noticed that the computer wasn't sleeping properly. It used to turn off the display, the hard drives, the case fans, etc. Now, it turns off everything EXCEPT the case fans... which pretty much defeats the purpose of putting it in sleep mode.
