I just put together this computer on the 2nd and since then I've blue screened 9 times. I've done some research and all the drivers are up to date, to the best of my knowledge, and I have installed all the updates from Windows Updates? I'm not sure what to try next.I downloaded the 'SF Diag Tool' and have attached both the minidump and the system information.

I needed to upgrade anyway, so I bought a new motherboard, new SATA HDD and a new copy of Windows 7 Home Premium..I had problems with th initial install, it started hanging three quarters of the way through, I checked online and found that if I disconnected all USB connections it installed fine.Now installed it won't load up correctly, or if it does it crashes almost straight away, it runs fine in safe mode, but I can't use Windows Update in safe mode.Rather than reinstall again.I've got the feeling the problem may relate to the build rather than the software, but wanted to check if anyone had experienced similar problems?
View 3 Replies View RelatedLast night, I built my first desktop machine. Most of my components were brand new, but I kept my old hard drive.(Which contained my Windows Home Premium 64 bit OS on it.)
When I finally went to power it up for the first time, it booted up normally, and then when it goes to the black screen with the colors swirling together to make the windows logo, right away it quickly flashed to a blue screen and then restarted.
I then went into the repair windows mode, but the automatic repairs failed. They left me with these details:

The hard drive with the operating sytem was working fine for me yesterday in my old machine. So I am assuming it has to be a problem with the new hardware, or I failed to connect something, or i need to change a setting.
i built this computer on june 23rd, had zero issues. i oc'd it to 4.5ghz on the 25th, have been playing crysis 1, and nfs undercover with no issues. i've run both at the same time while running prime95, and having core temp up, averaging 53c.

So I recently put together a computer for a friend of mine. We booted it up, and everything seemed to be fine. Unfortunately, he has been having intermittent BSOD crashes, often when installing new software (though not always). We've tried reinstalling Windows 7 (64 bit) several times, and I've had him run various RAM and hard drive diagnostics, which have (so far) not indicated any issues. My suspicions are beginning to point towards the motherboard or power supply, but honestly I'm pretty inexperienced when it comes to analyzing dumps. I've attached the relevant dump files. I don't have a full list of hardware directly at my disposal, but if necessary I can have him run a dxdiag tomorrow.

I have also tried a different PSU to see if that would help. I am leaning towards a bad CPU or incompatible memory, but wanted to see what you folks think first. Also, the system has been reloaded twice. The first time was a new install and then I reloaded everything after I installed the new MB.

I have recently built myself a PC (Windows 7, i5) and it's running fine except for one problem. Every now and again, when I've been away from it, I find that it's reset itself. I don't think it's overheating as the machine has two extra case fans and the temps seem fine.How should I go about starting to investigate this as it has never reset itself while I've been there.

I am worried when I try install the windows 7 os on the new build it wont work because when i put the disc in my laptop the auto run comes up and says run setup.exe, but as far as I know that is a file that is associated with windows (and the new pc wont have an OS yet) Is that file just for upgrade purposes? because on the disc there are also many other files and folders.Does that mean I will be able to install the OS on my new system from the BIOS menu or will i have to install the old xp OS and then upgrade

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have built many computers but am having a little bit of a problem with some things and my new one. My new install went great. All programs installed without a hitch. Fast and furious is the way it went to get everything installed. Now, after a week or so I have started having a couple glitches. When I go to install a new program or update it the program just sits there for 4 or 5 minutes before doing anything and then finally starts to do its thing. The other issue is that I am trying to do a backup and image clone to get my new system backed up. The problem there is that the windows backup won't see my hard drives. I then tried Norton Ghost and the same thing happened. What is causing this?
View 13 Replies View RelatedAlright I am running Windows 7 ultimate x64 on my newly built computer. My computer can successfully boot past the bios and get to the logo screen. Then I get to the Windows logo which is a hit or miss. Sometimes it will boot successfully and I will have no problems whatsoever and I can enjoy my computer without worrying about anything. Then sometimes it will get hung on the logo and it will just stop responding. I don't know if this is an issue with my HDD or maybe my power supply. I think that this may be a problem with my power supply because I notice that my keyboard LED turns of when it hangs like that. The only question then is "why is this not a consistent problem that I can isolate?"

I recently built my first PC three days ago...

When I first installed windows it started to work just fine but I soon noticed that it would randomly freeze every 15-30 minutes of use, but not on a particular program or anything. I assumed it was drivers so I installed the latest drivers for my GPU and MOBO and keyboard. It seemed fine again until it started crashing again. I ran a GPU burn test and a CPU burn test it passed both. (I tried runing memtest86+ but it froze at like 12%) Then I tried fixing the registry so I downloaded ccleaner and fixed the registry problems. Freezes continued. I finally decided to re install windows so I did and the problems still continued. I am at a loss of what to do and can't think of anything else.
I'm currently experiencing some issues with my computer, specifically, BSODs. They've never happened before, it's only been in the last few weeks that they have happened.They don't happen often but it happens when I'm playing games, these aren't newly installed games, I've played them for over a year with no issue.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've recently built my a Windows 7 desktop and i'm getting all kinds of blue screens.I have tried doing a clean install, i've done a system restore since then to when it was working best and i've still had BSOD.Originally it kept BSOD when i had two sticks of RAM in (at least once every 30 min) and worked fine when only one was in. I've since done a clean install and have both in.I've attached the dmp files from the two BSOD i've had since i have done the clean install.The only programs installed are Avast! 6.0.1000) and the software to run the wireless dongle (Netgear WG111v3) plus whatever came with Windows 7.I've ran dskchk and sfc /scannow with no errors reported. I've ran memtest86 and that returned no errors (though only ran once)The motherboard has MemtestOK! and that shows no errors.Motherboard: Asus M4A88T-V EVO USB3 (the latest drivers for the chipset, audio, graphics, lan and usb3 from the amd website have been installed)THe drivers for the wireless mouse and keyboard are install as is for the wireless dongle.The BIOS is the latest chipset as well.

This is the first build I have ever done. Here is what I know: Using WhoCrashed, it tells me that in 5/6 crashes it was related to ntoskrnl.exe, and in the 6th is was related to ntkrnlmp.exe,The BSOD's are not recurring, that is I will get one, then go back and do the same thing I was doing before, and it will be fine.

[code] all of this has been assembled recently, though many of the components (listed above) have been in service for some time.nothing is overclocked.i have experienced more freeze ups than bsod. these have come at all different conditions, including web-browsing, watching video (both wm player and online Internet), downloading files while computer is unattended (i return and find computer unresponsive) and occasionally while gaming (mostly ms flight sim x). i have not determined a pattern.cooling is very good in the case, and the asrock board fan controllers maintain the cpu reported temp below 45c at idle and i have not seen the core temp above 60c in any situation other than a run of the program 'core damage'. i followed the directions for how to assemble a help thread for this forum, but i have not looked up any error codes yet (have not ever needed to with windows 7) so i will look into that in parallel.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI usually have to boot my machine twice. I boot the first time, log into my (domain) account, and once windows loads, I get a BSOD. After that, if I reboot, the system works all day.
This happens if I'm bringing it out of sleep or hibernate too, but it has to be inactive for a few hours for it to give a BSOD.

I've been having problems with my mobile broadband too - it keeps saying that it's not connected. Only happens on this machine. I think the two incidents might somehow be related (they both started happening around the same time).
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit, retail OS installed early 2011 My original OS was Windows XP Machine was built in 2008, adding a new graphics card in 2011.
PS. I noticed that the System Health Report said I wasn't using anti-virus. I'm currently running AVG Free 2011.
I have an Asus G51 gaming series laptop. It has an intel core i7 with 4G of RAM and a GTX 260M for a graphics card. I've been getting a BUGCODE_NDIS_DRIVER BSOD almost every-time i use my machine for over 20 mins. My machine was working fine , until i bought an external monitor and started using that over HDMI. Now even though the other monitor is plugged out , BSOD still happens regularly.

I have a workstation that I just setup and the user is reporting BSODs on the system randomly. I've done all the standards stuff:
- Updated to the newest drivers from the vendor's web site
- Removed and reinstalled anti-virus
- Run chkdsk on the system volume
- Ran memtest86
- Looked into the bugchecks that came up. They are all event id 1001, but the bug check seems to change almost every time. I've noted bugchecks 3b, 0a, 7f, c4, 24, 101, 1a, 1e, 7e, and 4e. I didn't see anything promising, but I'm not exactly sure what to look for.
System is:
-Windows 7 pro 64-bit
-OEM install
-Compaq 100B SFF PC (Adina)
-AMD E-350 Processor @ 1.60Ghz
-4GB RAM
While it's an older system, we bought it new recently from tigerdirect. Guessing it was overstock. It's perfect for our simple needs on this workstation as far as power goes. Just need to resolve the BSOD issue. BTW, the other unit that is exactly the same does not have any problems.I have an exact match to this system, so I'm going to swap the hard disks between the functioning system and the one with BSOD problems. Once I note where the BSOD ends up, I'll have a better idea whether it's h/w or s/w. I'll post the information, but it is doing a BSOD every couple of days, so it may be a bit.

My previous setup was with a AMD 240e. I use Microsoft Security Essentials for antivirus and have firewall turned on. The Media Center machine is on for 24/7 on sleep mode for recordings or turned on for showing recordings. Since the upgrade I have BSOD most times after it is turned on after sleep. The STOP occurs 4-5 minutes after the wake up either the wake up is initiated from a recording or from user. I even see BSOD occur in the middle of the night where I have no recordings or other activity. I have made several new install and tried to exclude the SSD and install a 32 bit Win7 - but the BSOD still occurs 4-5 min after awake.
