I have a problem when I open my notebook/laptop it always show the BIOS Setup, so what i do is I press "ESC" on keyboard the select "Yes" to discard the changes in BIOS and it loads the windows and works properly I tried to restart but when I restart same process the BIOS Setup always appear, how can I prevent the BIOS Setup showing in turning on my notebook/laptop?

3 year old Sahara Notebook 2gb Ram, Intel Core Duo T2250 Processor. 1.7 GHZ, ATI xpress 200M graphics card. Win 7 Ultimate 32bit Hasn't given me problems for the last few months, until recently.What happened. I was in school studying, shut down the laptop, took a 15 minute walk to my student residence. When I tried to start the laptop. It showed nothing on the screen, not even the BIOS screen. Thought it was a faulty screen, I connected it to another monitor and even a projector. Nothing still showed on them.
When I insert a Win 7 Installation disk in the DVD drive, I can here it humming but still no display. The fan too is working plus the power on and charging lights are working to?
How do you get into the bios setup at startup on an Asus a50 series laptop?

I'm having a problem with my notebook. It keeps turning display off after idle for 2 or 3 minutes and going into sleep mode around five minutes after that. I did change and set power system in control panel many times but it did not work. I'm running on Window 7 home basic 64 bit.
View 2 Replies View Relatedjust completed a first-time new Windows 7 PC build. Successful installation of Windows 7 Pro on WD 600GB 10000 system drive. Went back and installed 4 additional HDD. (2) WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200 RPM and (2) WD Caviar 7200 500GB HDD from XP system that were used for storage.
BIOS sees all HDDs, but are not viewable in Disk Management.
System Specs:
Antec Nine Hundred
ASUS P6X58D-E MOBO

However, only three are visible in Disk Management. Missing (1) WD 500GB (previously used on WinXP system) and (1) new WD 1T.
When I turn on my PC. I cant launch bios setup.

If I try to start on safe mode I can't it againg start that process again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two SATA hard drives. I was poking around in the BIOS yesterday and noticed that they were setup IDE instead of AHCI. I am not sure what either does and did not want to change anything without asking. When I first got my PC, it had XP installed, so I am thinking that is why IDE is set. Do I need to change it to AHCI? I am not having any problems. Would it be of any great advantage to change it? I understand that after the OS is installed, it is a problem to switch to AHCI.

Windows still would not load! I had to use my Acronis True Image program to get Windows 7 back up & running.My Board has 6 Intel Sata ports & two Gigabyte ports on the board. I don't use the Gigabyte ports & they were left in the IDE mode in the Bios when it failed.The Bios screen loaded differently but failed as I said to load Windows 7.If I perform a clean install will Windows 7 load & install in the AHCI/Native modes with the bios setting to AHCI & not IDE? I have the SSD for programs & a 1TB HDD for storage & backup.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a computer with a RAID setup. It is 2 hard drives 500gb each showing up as 1tb in windows. Both drives show up in the bios but all of a sudden when trying ot start the computer I get a "Operating system is missing" error.
I'm trying to run a chkdsk form a win 7 64 bit disk and telling it to run on H; (system drive) but it says 'cannot open volume for direct access'.
The other drive, C: is just a recovery drive built into dell computer systems. I tried using a boot cd and running mbrfix to no avail.
I have a real problem booting with my Restore CD. It doesn't let me go further then the bios. It tells me I can select ESC and it will give me the boot selection pop up, and when I do that it only says that boot selection has been selected but doesn't work. It also gives me an option to select F2 for setup but takes me straight to the bios. I set CD/DVD as first boot priority but it didn't work.

One port is an HDMI the other is a VGA. the issue i have is that when i have a worksheet open i can see the gridlines to the cells on the HDMI connected monitor, if i move the sheet over to the vga monitor the gridlines are so light i cannot make out the different cells. it looks like one clean sheet of white paper.i tried different contrast and brightness settings and no luck.

I know how to get into the BIOS and change settings and I know with two hard drives, I should do RAID 1. However, I just have a few questions before I do this. First off, I am an idiot and did not notice that my first hard drive I got when I built the computer has a 32 MB Cache:

I noticed it only had a 32 MB CACHE when I went to get another one. I then asked for the version with a 64 MB CACHE (WD1002FAEX), paid for it and left. Will these two hard drives work together in RAID if they have different sized caches?
I need to install either windows XP or windows 7 on my USB stick so I can boot my computer from the USB and use it like a normal installation. Articles I read tell you how to install Windows on a USB but not how to allow your computer to boot from the USB like it would be a HDD. I know how to set up my BIOS and I don't need an explanation in that respect I just need a step by step guide or at least a good guide on how to install either XP or 7 onto a USB, not from I've done that 1,000,000 times.

This hasn't happened to me while I was at home over christmas where it lives in a bag .I told it to hibernate last night, turned off the plug and there were no lights on anywhere, but when I got up today it was on. Removed HD, Removed RAM on stick at a time. Held down power button for 30 seconds after removing all power sources. Checked Google only to find out that this a common problem with this model of laptop. I apologize for not having any other specs for this model of laptop as It will not turn on. This is one of my clients laptop and would like to get it going. Have a feeling it is a MOB issue or graphics card.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen my computer goes to sleep after it's on for a while when I move the mouse to get the screen back up it shows the backround no icons or anything to click. Same if I turn it off and turn it back on. I have to turn it off and on many times then go to safe mode and shut down then turn it on again for it to work. Just now I had to turn it on/off 4 times for it to show the icons and task bar. Usually it is left blank with nothing to click having no choice but to turn it off. Norton says no viruses. My computer is HP with windows 7. I bought it in 2011.
