BIOS Setup Always Show In Turning On A Notebook / Laptop
Jan 31, 2012I have a problem when I open my notebook/laptop it always show the BIOS Setup, so what i do is I press "ESC" on keyboard the select "Yes" to discard the changes in BIOS and it loads the windows and works properly I tried to restart but when I restart same process the BIOS Setup always appear, how can I prevent the BIOS Setup showing in turning on my notebook/laptop?

Dec 31, 2012when my computer goes to sleep after it's on for a while when I move the mouse to get the screen back up it shows the backround no icons or anything to click. Same if I turn it off and turn it back on. I have to turn it off and on many times then go to safe mode and shut down then turn it on again for it to work. Just now I had to turn it on/off 4 times for it to show the icons and task bar. Usually it is left blank with nothing to click having no choice but to turn it off. Norton says no viruses. My computer is HP with windows 7. I bought it in 2011.

Aug 23, 2011I've got an Acer Model As5742 Laptop with an i5 480M processor and 8 GB of good Ram. I'm running Win 7 Pro 64 Bit. It's only about 5 months old and this started about a month ago. I have no other problems. IE: Blue Screens or Lockups or anything, just the Bios clock changes to a random date and time after every restart. I replaced the Bios battery twice and it only effects the chore of having to reset the time in Windows every time I boot.
I'm going to send it to Acer to be repaired within a week or two, but maybe it's not a bad timing mechanism in the motherboard and one of you people have a correct solution to it. Which will save me the trouble of sending it in for a motherboard replacement.
I do have all the drivers and bios updates installed. Oh yes I've ran about 15 different virus Etc. Malware scans with several different products and they all come back clean. I ran System File Checker SFC /scannow from the command prompt several times that also comes back OK.

While at the hotel, they had a welcome page that said, "Welcome to Nashville" where you would agree to the terms and conditions before browsing the Internet.Now that I am back home, whenever I initially launch IE9, the first tab that comes up has a title of "Welcome to Nashville"It sits there for 20-30 seconds, presumably searching for the hotel proxy. Then, it gives up and Google--which is my normal home page--launches normally. Since then, the BIOS boot splash will come up but occasionally hang there. When it does not hang, windows will not start. I tried boot from both the install and recovery disks, but after loading the windows files all I get is a blank black screen. after about 10 minutes a mouse cursor shows up and can be moved but nothing else happens. After my computer has fully loaded up, I cannot launch anything or use the internet.This includes when trying to launch MS office, chrome,internet explorer, games, adobe and so on. The only way I can launch anything is either in safe mode, or if I quickly open the program as soon as my computer opens to desktop. I can then run the program for approximately 2 mins before it freezes, shuts me out and then doesn't let me reopen.I have tried to do a Norton virus scan,although it seems to be getting stuck on detecting tracking cookies.(Not sure if this is a result of any virus I have or something else).

Jan 12, 2009The upgrade from Vista to 7 was a smooth one with one exception; my internal bluetooth adaptor is not working.I have a Dell XPS M1330, and I tried enabling it via BIOS, but it does not want to turn on.The BT Tray icon is not showing up, which is the way I normally turn it on, and Fn F2 isn't bringing up any Bluetooth options. My computer lately has been lagging or momentarily freezing when I open a program or window. The most disturbing problem is that my laptop shuts off whenever it feels like it. I had to do a System Restore just to get it to turn on yesterday. Luckily I have come acrossI have a working knowledge of computers, enough to get me by so far, but this is way out f my league. May 3, 2012I have an HP Pavilion DV7 laptop... The volume slider keeps turning itself all the way down, even as I try to turn it up. Its been happening for a while now. I've tried:
1.) Completely removed everything attached to the MOBO, only the LCD, DC Jack, RAM and HDD. Issue still persists
2.) Same as above only added battery, and unplugged the ac adapter and ran off battery. Issue is resolved.
3.)Plug power back in the issue happens again.
I tried many combinations of removing and adding hardware components and they all have the same result.
4.) I update the drivers, then uninstalled and download new drivers. Installed the software and disabled the software. The issue persists
5.) Tried updating windows and then disabling the sound software along with HP Smart software. Issue persists.
6.) installed a new HDD and clean installed windows 7 with only the provided drivers. Issue persists
7.) Replaced the Sound/Smart Media Power panel. Issue Persists
8.) Changed the RAM. Issue persists.
9.) Disabled the sound devices in the "Sound" control panel. Issue Persists.
10.) Flash the BIOS, already has the newest revision so I re-flashed it. Issue Persists.
11.) Tried switching AC Adapters. issue persists
12.) Changed DC Jack & AC Charger.
BSOD When Turning On A Second PC?
Aug 16, 2012I have a home network with two desktop PCs and three laptops, all running Windows 7.I mostly use a desktop PC with Windows 7 Ultimate. I have installed the same version on my girlfriend's laptop. (All other computers use different versions of Windows 7. All 5 copies are legal.)However, when she turns her laptop back on, I get a BSOD on my desktop PC. This doesn't happen when any other PC is turned on.

I have tried a few of the fixes online such as restoring, checking task scheduler, and running the startup fix on the Windows disc. The pc will also randomly shut down once it loads Windows (put itself through the proper 'Windows is shutting down', not the sudden shut down of a hardware failure). I can't even recall the program I used because it was a while later that I realized the mess I'd created...Anyway I have been reinstalling/updating programs for several days and am left with two big glitches.First, I no longer can launch IE. I actually use Firefox but need IE for my work site. I have uninstalled it from Windows update several times and reinstalled without success. I then had the idea to download and install Explorer 8. I figured I could then upgrade. Unable to install that as it was apparently "unsupported"by Windows 7 (32 bit).

Apr 13, 2011my friends use Windows 7 and IE 9, but it only works right for them from the administrator's account.From a normal user's account clicking the link in IE 9 would open up the link in a new tab (as normal) and launch the Sopcast software, but would not tune it to the right channel.Under the administrator's account it did initially require 2 or 3 permissions, but as the regular user it doesn't even ask.I tried changing the regular user account to an administrator and reinstalling the software by the new admin, but it still did not work and did not even pop the permissions.Only lowering the UAC all the way to 0 made it work, but upping it again even one notch disabled things again. It never asked for any permissions, like it did under the other account.I searched and found others with somewhat similar issues, but no direct solution.I guess Windows 7 blocks it for the regular user, but how can I authorize it? Make it ask me?Should it have been working or is it something generally blocked, on purpose?

I went to HP and downloaded the Vista 32 bit drivers hoping they would work on Windows 7 but they dont, at least not by simply installing them.
Im running Windows 7 32bit.
Im not talking about the Quick Play buttons, I dont care about those.
Any ideas?
