View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with my audio that is driving me up a wall. I'm having that (apparently common) issue of crackling/popping/static-y audio on a Realtek chip. I've tried multiple drivers, from Realtek official to Generic to Vista ones. My latency graph has little to no spiking too! (A problem most people identified in the previous megathread). I know this is a solvable issue because previously I've had it under control. It was just so long ago and I've forgotten.[code] Bios, video card, and OS are up to date. If you need any other information I can get it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two SATA hard drives. I was poking around in the BIOS yesterday and noticed that they were setup IDE instead of AHCI. I am not sure what either does and did not want to change anything without asking. When I first got my PC, it had XP installed, so I am thinking that is why IDE is set. Do I need to change it to AHCI? I am not having any problems. Would it be of any great advantage to change it? I understand that after the OS is installed, it is a problem to switch to AHCI.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to install Windows 7 from an USB stick on an Asus EeePC 1201HAB with a Kingston SSDNow V series 120GB the process freezes when I try to install Windows 7 Home Premium or format on the ssd.
Even installing from an external dvd player results in the same problem, when Windows starts to copy files during installation, the proces freezes every time. The ssd itself is working, I checked that in another system. Could it be a problem with the combination of a Kingston SSDNow V series in the Asus eeePC 1201HAB?
Ok I've had some serious issues with running itunes & my iphone, syncing, writing errors etc.
The guys on the apple forum said to try and update my bios.
So I went to asus' website, found the drivers etc under my particular mobo.
Now I was given two .zip files, I've attached them because once I open the rar/zip files I dont know what to use to then run them with so I can update the mobo?
The first one is listed on their website under the category:
BIO S (5) [BIOS HISTORY]
and the other is listed under
BIOS-UTLITIES
I assume I should install both of these since they both deal with the bios?
I have a SSD drive & want to use the AHCI Mode & Native Command Quening from Windows 7 Pro X64. I performed the Regedit by setting the START paramater in the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetservicesmsahci from "3" to "0" - and then making the switch in the BIOS from IDE to AHCI. Windows still would not load! The Bios screen would not load Windows 7.I have a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R Board that has a Intel P45 Chipset & I installed the latest Intel Sata drivers before I tried the change. I had to use my Acronis True Image program to get Windows 7 back up & running. My Board has 6 Intel Sata ports & two Gigabyte ports on the board. I don't use the Gigabyte ports & they were left in the IDE mode in the Bios when it failed. The Bios screen loaded differently but failed as I said to load Windows 7.If I perform a clean install will Windows 7 load & install in the AHCI/Native modes with the bios setting to AHCI & not IDE? I have the SSD for programs & a 1TB HDD for storage & backup.
