Asus Laptop Can't Find Startup Entries For Programs
Jun 28, 2012
Asus has some way of starting their programs that I can't find. In particular, I want to disable their Wireless Console 3 (wcourier.exe). There are other programs but I can't remember what they are right now. I can only tell you that is does not show up in msconfig or HJT. Where I can find these startup entries?
Trying to disable some of the bloatware that came with my HP G62, as well as disable unneeded auto-updates, and have been blocked from doing so.Ran msconfig, startup entries... Unchecked, hit "apply" and they just become checked again. (Ran as administrator on admin account)Tried "Tuneup Utilities." Same effect.Have been trying to disable Yahoo Messenger from starting and it just keeps on starting.I have unchecked the startup box in the pref dialog of the prog.Is my admin account not really admin? (No other accounts on the computer)

I have installed revo uninstaller which I have used with no probs till now. I decided to use autorun to see start up programmes instead of using the usual msconfig. This is the process I followed.Revo uninstallerautorunI unticked all boxes except my security programmes as this is a new laptop and all programmes were set to run at start up.Closed down laptopestarted laptopOpened startup (the idea was to start up a few at a time to see which I really needed)only 3 boxes were there (security which I left ticked)I have reset to default in startupstill only 3 boxes were showing still tickedI have since had an update from itunes and this is now showing as a 4th programme in startupother than these 4 boxes the list of startup programmes have not shown themselves.
There are endless queries on the Internet about how to set the default email client to something other than Outlook or Windows Live. Got me to thinking there must be some app or instruction on how to manually place an entry in the Windows 7 Set Default Programs utility, since software developers can do it for apps like Skype, WinRar, PotPlayer, etc. If anybody has run across such a tool, let the community here know
Windows 7 Labtop, 64 bit. Doing a bit of cleaning and noticed all the programs opening on start-up, which do I actually need?

I've been having this problem with my laptop for a long time now its an hp pavillion dv4-4068LA. I just restored my system because it was very slow despite having tuneup utilities 2013 working on disabling start up programs. Everything was great when I restored my system until I started installing programs again including tuneup utilities and it actually did more damage than good to my start ups so I decided to permanently uninstall the program and do everything with Windows functions like msconfig and stuff. My startups are way faster now but not as good as they used to be, after 10 minutes of using my computer everything becomes really fast like the old times but I would like to have this speed right at the start up because I know it's possible.
I 've got a problem with my Asus Netbook, when I opened my netbook, it automatically shows start up repair, and this took many times already with out solving the problem, kindly help me about this. My unit is Asus U32U Windows Seven.
i got both my kids an asus netbook Eee pc x101ch on windows 7, a month ago for xmas, and already my daughters wont start and im quite sure she dropped it... It shows the asus logo, but then goes straight on to setup, regardless of what i press, f8/f9/f10 all go straight to setup instead of recovery partition and it just continually beeps... shes only used it twice?
My Eee PC Flare Series Asus, Windows 7 Starter, has started a System Recovery and it does never finish! I boot it, the Asus logotype appears, then ""Windows is loading files" and then the System Recovery Options tab appears. It has an option for selecting a keyboard input method and says "Next" or "Cancel". If I press cancel it asks me "Are you sure you want to exit and restart your computer?", and this actually resends me to the same point. So, if I press "Next" it starts "Searching for problems". Then it says "Windows cannot repair this computer automatically", and I can choose between "Finish" (the computer shuts down and I must begin again) or "Cancel" ("Are you sure you want to exit Startup Repair and restart your computer?" )
I just wanna ask if on how to solve my problem with my Asus Net book. When I tried to open just today, start up is not responding all I can see is just a plain black on my screen?
I cannot seem to find a driver for my built-in webcam. I tried searching the manufacturer's site but all they have is the webcam utility, not the real driver.

My hp dv3t has been giving a message about checking a disk for consistency every time I reboot(ed) for about a week now, but today it froze after the countdown reaches zero (for bypassing the procedure)nothing I do can get it past this step. What do I do? I tried booting from Safe Mode, it listed a bunch of drivers but then froze.I'm using W7 64-bit Home Premium.
I want to remove something from my start up list but I'm not used to the Window 7 that this laptop has. I have a Compaq Presario CQ60-420US Notebook PC. Can some give me a clue as to where to find the start up list & then how to stop a program from running at startup. I just don't need the SuperAnti spyware to run until I need it, I don't think.
got this message: Cannot create value: Error writing to the registry.already try change Permissions to my current Admin account and to Administrators but still got the error after doing this.already try these commands with no results:
There are some programs that I need to run at startup, but they tend to need to be run as administrator. I have dragged the shortcut into the startup folder, but this doesn't start the program. Some apps that I need are RealTemp, Gigabyte Dynamic Energy Saver2, and Gigabyte Easy Tune 6.East Tune 6 does seem to start itself at startup, even though it needs to be run as administrator if I start it from it's shortcut, and I don't get a UAC window, so there must be a way to configure startup for these kind of things. The DES2 app also runs at startup, but not always for some reason, so I would like to add it to the startup list to make sure it's running. I have followed the windows instructions for adding programs to startup, and I have also checked the "run as administrator" check box under compatibility, but neither of these seems to do anything.
I'm not sure why you have a "run as administrator" check box if you still get asked if you want to run as admin even when it is checked. Why have a feature that doesn't do anything? I'm not sure that the entire UAC feature is supposed to do anyway, other than annoy you when you do something that microsoft would rather you not do.
I am running W7 Ultimate 32-bit. I have two programs that have stopped running on startup. One is 'everything' - a better search engine, the other is 'Karen's Time sync' - a clock sync program. I have UAC enabled and when they did run, they asked for permission to continue. Now they don't run at all unless I start them manually. Autoruns says: Everything is in HKLMSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun Time Sync.lnk is in C:ProgramDataMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuProgramsStartup
