May 18, 2012I've been having trouble with my new motherboard BioStar TZ68K+ . Whenever I access the BIOS, the selection keeps moving up as if the "up arrow" key on the keyboard was stuck. My keyboard is connected via purple PS2 in the back. I tried with a different keyboard, this time a USB connection, and still the same result. It seems to be happening only in the BIOS as it doesn't do any strange behaviour when I'm in Windows. I updated the BIOS to the latest version and cleared the CMOS using the jumper on the board.

ASUS U6S Win7 Support
Dec 1, 2009Running the Microsoft Windows 7 advisor; it says that the laptop is OK for upgrade and I have to uninstall the ASUS Security Protect Manager (ASPM) prior to upgrade.
Looking for more information in the WWW, I found different opinions of people that did it and others said that it doesn't support.
Now I am confused whether to continue or not.
Does U6S support the Windows 7 upgrade?
If no, when will it support?
If yes, what is the proper replacement to the ASPM.

Dec 5, 2010Long story short i have an Aspire One ZG5 with no SSD ribbon. Someone ripped out the ribbon and in the process damaged the connectors on both drive and motherboard. Any attempts to restore them were useless, even with a hot air rework station i could not solder new connectors in properly, they probably used infrared or wave soldering at the factory.
I need the thing to boot from a 16GB SDHC and the BIOS does NOT support such blasphemy. I can solder a small USB drive internally to act as a bootloader, but what do i put on it?
Basically i want to know whether something placed on a small USB drive can boot the thing and then transfer control to the SDHC, or if i'm better off buying a USB SDHC adapter and calling it a day.
Updating Asus Crosshair III Drivers To Support Win 7
Feb 27, 2010I have been researching up on the Asus Crosshair III before i purchase. I have been reading reviews about how you need to download Win7 drivers and the most recent bios from the Internet which is not a problem. However i came across one concern. I am building a computer from nothing, and the drivers that come with the Asus Crosshairs are not for win7. I also read that in order to update the drivers to win7 you need vista.
I just need confirmation that this is true. Is it possible to update my motherboard's drivers/bios just by purchasing the full version of Win7? Or do i have to purchase vista and update the drivers/bios and then buy the upgrade for win7? Just a little confused as to what needs to be done.
I went on the asus website and found the drivers. Just need clarification on how i install them.

The guys on the apple forum said to try and update my bios.
So I went to asus' website, found the drivers etc under my particular mobo.
Now I was given two .zip files, I've attached them because once I open the rar/zip files I dont know what to use to then run them with so I can update the mobo?
The first one is listed on their website under the category:
BIO S (5) [BIOS HISTORY]
and the other is listed under
BIOS-UTLITIES
I assume I should install both of these since they both deal with the bios?

Dec 8, 2012I have the above motherboard. I have been using a video card which is three years old and thought I would try out the integrated video before my video card died. I switched it in the Bios and switched the monitor cable and it started fine on integrated video. The only thing is that the first screen where I can enter Bios does not show, so I am unable to enter the Bios. I tried hitting the delete button on the blank screen but nothing happens. I was able to shut down the PC and switch back to the video card, so I am OK. Does anyone have any idea why the first screen doesn't show on integrated?

Feb 6, 2012i new to all of this update bios thing and i just learned how to do it today (or so i hope)but i still too scared to give it a try because 1. i never done it before and scare to loss my mobo2. i don't know what the stable version for it3. scare from blackout.anyway i need help from other user that have the same mobo that i do and update his bios allready before (it will really help if you even update it to the last version) ... i need to know if the very last version (Version 2003) of my mobo Bios is stable for it and not case any "side effects" ... because i saw some situations in the past when people update their bios and the results was : they got blue screens nonstop in different situations ,got only black screen after the pc start up,was force to format their pc (in really rare cases), make hardwares to stop wroking, make the pc slower, and etc. i really scared to try it also beacuse i don't know if there is any way to restore the bios to it older version after i update it my motherbored is ASUS P7P55D (normal one, not deluxe and etc) which i bought in the end of 2009and my bios version is still the same (i never update my bios before)Uploaded with ImageShack.usnd it really old.you can see my build at my profile.

Nov 28, 20091. I want to open the boot options in my dell laptop but when dell logo appears i press f12 as it is written there then nothing happens i want to change the boot settings. Installing Legacy ATI Driver On Windows 7 X64
Apr 20, 2012I have ATI x1950 pro VGA card and I need to install its driver on windows 7 x64
I tried installing the legacy 10.2 driver downloaded from AMD website but after installation I restart the PC, I see the windows 7 loading logo then I can't see the welcome screen but I hear windows startup sound! to be able to see my desktop again I have to hard restart the PC and login to safemode and remove ATI driver (which shows under unknown devices)
The problem isn't with ATI driver only it seems that I can't see my desktop with (microsoft's Standard VGA Graphics Adapter driver) also (check attached image)
I tried removing ATI driver and clean the system with "AMD Catalyst TwL Cleaner v3.9.2" but I got the same problem after using.
PC Locked Up And Rebooted With Legacy Dos Screen Again
Jun 6, 2009This time the message was DES has been disabled. Enable it or some such nonsense. I have no clue what it means. Luckily I had a PS/2 keyboard to use to hit the ENTER key or my PC would have been disabled again.
When I got back online, every website that uses PWs had to be logged back into. Sites that I never have to log into once I've done it once.
What is this DES and is it related to cookies?
