View 2 Replies View RelatedOk I've had some serious issues with running itunes & my iphone, syncing, writing errors etc.
The guys on the apple forum said to try and update my bios.
So I went to asus' website, found the drivers etc under my particular mobo.
Now I was given two .zip files, I've attached them because once I open the rar/zip files I dont know what to use to then run them with so I can update the mobo?
The first one is listed on their website under the category:
BIO S (5) [BIOS HISTORY]
and the other is listed under
BIOS-UTLITIES
I assume I should install both of these since they both deal with the bios?
Can any one tell me what bios drivers do i need for windows 7 i cant get my graphics card drivers to install can anybody shed some light.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the above motherboard. I have been using a video card which is three years old and thought I would try out the integrated video before my video card died. I switched it in the Bios and switched the monitor cable and it started fine on integrated video. The only thing is that the first screen where I can enter Bios does not show, so I am unable to enter the Bios. I tried hitting the delete button on the blank screen but nothing happens. I was able to shut down the PC and switch back to the video card, so I am OK. Does anyone have any idea why the first screen doesn't show on integrated?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Compaq 6530b laptop and am running Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit. I want to enable bluetooth on the laptop, but the Device Manager says it is disabled in the BIOS and to activate it with F10 on boot.. the problem is it asks for a BIOS password and I keep guessing and cant figure out what it is! Is there a simple way to reset the BIOS password or crack it? I took out the CMOS battery and waited 10 minutes, but that didnt do anything.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo my laptop (acer aspire 5745g) has stopped working.I was using it normally until i received the blue screen of death and it shut down. From then on, i tried to turn on the laptop and it would show me the windows loading page then it simply turns black with a flashing _ in the top left.Rarely when i turn it on it loads up normally but it seems to have even stopped doing that.I did some of my own research and many people suggest hd failure or ram?If it is as simple as above i can buy the hd or ram and install an os myself.
p.s. I can see the hd in the bios and i used an external hard drive enclosure for my 2.5"" sata on another computer to which my surprise i was able to extract the C drive files.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't access my bios and get msg missing bootmgr enter ctrl alt delete to restart, I can't use my win 7 disk or any other disk to fix this because my computer won't read it, and I can't get into the bios to reset the boot priority. I can't use a zip drive cause the computer won't read that either. All I seem to be able to do is hit ctrl, alt, del. but why do that is it doesn't boot my rig. when I put the drive into my second computer, windows is there, and the boot manager is there too. I want to use this computer for a folding contest on May 15.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am currently unable to access my bios because of the TrueCrypt Boot Loader. This also means I can't change my boot order to boot into a cd. The boot order was messed up, and whenever the password is entered it just says "No available partition" and then shuts down, so I have to press [ESC] to avoid the boot loader. And this skips any chance to enter the bios.Is there any way to fixmbr/fixboot without booting into a USB or CD?The only other way would be to remove my hard drive and get a new one to install windows on.

I've got an Acer Model As5742 Laptop with an i5 480M processor and 8 GB of good Ram. I'm running Win 7 Pro 64 Bit. It's only about 5 months old and this started about a month ago. I have no other problems. IE: Blue Screens or Lockups or anything, just the Bios clock changes to a random date and time after every restart. I replaced the Bios battery twice and it only effects the chore of having to reset the time in Windows every time I boot.
I'm going to send it to Acer to be repaired within a week or two, but maybe it's not a bad timing mechanism in the motherboard and one of you people have a correct solution to it. Which will save me the trouble of sending it in for a motherboard replacement.
I do have all the drivers and bios updates installed. Oh yes I've ran about 15 different virus Etc. Malware scans with several different products and they all come back clean. I ran System File Checker SFC /scannow from the command prompt several times that also comes back OK.
so i did a bios update, and it wont boot after the update.its a asus m4a79xtd evo (rev 1.01g)i dont have a backup of the bios

View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't want anything too crazy, just something I can take with me on my IT jobs...
I've narrowed it down to these two...
AMD - Asus X5 Laptop - Laptops at Ebuyer
and
Intel - Asus X5DIJ Laptop - Laptops at Ebuyer
The main differences from what I can see is. The Intel has the extra gig of RAM but the AMD has the better graphics chip.
I do not know how the CPU's compare.
I would be ever so grateful for some good advice.
I have a five-month old HP Compaq Presario Laptop, which has been working fairly decently (I've had a few virus scares, and my Norton quarrentined something a twenty days ago). On HP's advice, I just updated the BIOS on my laptop. It's currently stuck at Verifying New Bios Image, and it's at 100% - It's been stuck that way for a half-hour plus.

Anyway, He said that it didn't need a bios update, even the Samsung website said this computer needed a bios update. I posted this on hardware, firmware concerns, and they told me to post here, I was going to go to a site ,that had a download that checked drivers,
