I have an Epson stylus photo R200 printer. It prints phots and CDs. The photo function works fine with Vista, but when I try to print a CD, the image is WAY off-center. Are there any Vista patches or downloads that will correct this problem?
View 9 RepliesWhen I try to print a web site image to an Adobe PDF file, Vista states that for security purposes the pdf file will be placed in a "virtual" temporary internet file folder, then opens the virtual folder on C drive, but then doesn't save the file in the folder. I've been able to work around the problem by disabling all user account control security, but there has to be an easier way. I'd like to save files without security forcing them to a
specific folder.
I've had Vista Home Premium installed on my desktop PC for over a year now, but I never used Windows Media Center until recently and noticed this problem when I purchased a Media Center Extender. After choosing the folders (music, video and image) that I wanted in my WMC library (on BOTH my desktop PC AND Media Center Extender), only my image files do not appear in the libraries. Under "Picture Library" (again, on both units), all folders and sub-folders which I selected are shown but contain no "items". The files which I desire to view are .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, and .bmp formats and I have converted some back and forth between formats to see if that changed anything. Can anyone steer me in the right direction on this?

View 9 Replies View Relatedbefore this i try to install vista on my machine. and for sure in that time we need to create user (adminstrator) before we start using the vista. after that, i try to keep an image for my vista because if anything happen, it will be more easier to me. then, i try to image on my machine again. but, there already have i user which mean the administrator that i create during the 1st installation. so, when i do the image, i need to put the different user name because the user name that i try to create already exist. so that will create 2 different user when imaging is done. is there any way how to delete the 1st user? so when imaging is done, it will only 1 user (new user) and the windows will be automatically show the desktop. (i know how to delete from control panel>user account). actually this is for my client.

I want to copy (image) the current hard drive to the SimpleTech, replace the hard drive and copy the image of from the SimpleTech back to the new drive.

We have no software now that lets us cut out objects and put them into new backgrounds. I dont care that you took PICTUREIT! away (WELL I DO CARE), if you had replaced it with something else that was equally as functional or better, but to take it away and not replace it with anything comparible is rediculous! You have gone back 7 years in time
People use this software every single day of the week. I use it so much I would be willing to pay a per month price to have access to it ! Could Microsoft PLEASE give us a suitable program that is VISTA compatible. Why dont you just make these obsolete products available by monthly subscription ? you would make HEAPS of money off it and your customers would be a lot happier than they are now ! When i want to print Test page, only row of 2-20 smilies is coming out in best case and print job shows error . When i ask HP, they say Microsoft is responsible for drivers. Microsoft says i should ask HP. I slowly begin to be annoyed. Have bought short certified hi-speed USB 2.0 cable. Windows update shows that there is optional update for Other hardware - dj450 USB, dowloaded and it says it is not possible to install, error code: 80070103. Under Win XP are no problems. Is there any solution aside from buying new printer or downgrade to XP?Is there a way to install this update
View 9 Replies View RelatedTwo shared printers off 2 computers running XP. One notebook running Vista that can print fine to one shared printer but not the other. The one it *can* print to is hardwired to the network, the one in *cannot* isn't. But, that's not the problem. The notebook "sees" the printer share just fine. Just trying to connect or run the setup wizard ultimately leads to an "access denied" error. 1) I tried googling the answer and it wasn't "add a local printer" (even though it's not) 2) I tried installing the printer driver both before and after adding the printer (didn't work) I mean it's *right* there, the machine sees it. Why can't it connect to it? Do I need to change something in the machine's permission settings? It's an effing printer. Who cares if the whole world sees it.

Linked to a computer, who running with XP Familly edition, she work fine, and XP recognizes it automatiquely. But when I have linked my printer on my other computer who running on Windows Vista SP1 32bit, I can install the printer, I select the port who is LPT1, after, I choose the "EPL 5700" on the drivers list, and I finish the configuration. I try to print a test page and the status of the printer change: before print of test page, it was "Ready"... and after, It change to "Error" and the page isn't printed. I booted up computer to the command prompt and restored harddrive in few minutes!!! But it was FAT32 system. Now, with Vista I do not have a choice but to use NTSF file system. Which program offers the most features for disk image creation? I know it will be impossible for me to restore image from command boot option, but what the options I have? Can I for example take the harddrive to another computer and restore the image in there? Or create bootable CD (DVD?) and restore the image that way? Or I have to first install Windows and then restore?

He was told to select "Netherlands/Antilles" as the location when running the TV Setup wizard, which he did, but then it insists on a zip. Problem... the island has no zip codes. How does WMC know what service he has since it doesn't know where he's at?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows Vista Home premium 64bit with 8gb ram and an hp c309a printer. My problem is that vista take a long time to print even just a 1 word paper using notepad. Also when i right click the printer in the printer folder it also take time to open the properties, aprox 3 minutes. So if i try to print it takes 3 minutes just to open the tab to click print and to select the printer i wish to use. The c309a is connected by usb cable, and i have tried re-installing the latest drivers and firmware for the printer as well as different usb cables and each of my usb ports. Yet for some reason there is a long 3+ minute pause when trying to print. I have also tried using the network feature and I still have same trouble. Also i have checked to make sure print spooling is on in services. HP has a utility to check for issues for both network and for usb, and the printer passes each test fine. I have done so many full uninstalls and installing of the software as well as the cable changes it is driving me nuts. I have been google'ing for days and days and have had no luck in fixing this issue. One last comment every time i try to print the applications I am using freeze for the 3+ minutes and the window application shows "application not responding", but after 3+ minutes i can finally select the printer and hit print, then at that point it freezes again for about 2 minutes and then prints. I have run multiple virus scans and multiple spyware detection programs and have also run online virus scans using bitdefend and trendmicro as well and i have no virus or spyware. I have also ran "hijackThis" and been told my system appears clean.

I've trying opening the security center and telling Vista not to alert me or display tray icon. But when I start up, I still get a publisher-not-verified warning about a program I want to run. And when I try to open it manually (or another app that contains an internal server), Vista (shield.exe) stops and asks me if I want to run it. If I take the checkmark out of "Always warn about this type of program," it's there's the next time anyway. I'd like to disable all this stuff. How do I go about it?

running vista 64 SP1 RTM cannot print from IE nor print preview unless I turn UAC off in control panel. Cannot print even if opening IE as admin. (some sort of error message about C:/users/username/appdata/local/temp/low/ and some files therein.) Note, on a different machine with vista 32 SP1 beta2 refresh (never got around to installing SP1 RTM on this box) - UAC enabled and no print problem at all

I've got a curious problem which I can not solve myself. I want to install a new PDF printer and a normal laserprinter-driver, both have driver for Vista. Setup ends with success, but no printer is added to the list of printers. I tried installing with UAC on and off, antivius is off while installing, installing as admin. Has somebody an advice for me?

The XP system shares two folders and the Vista system can access the shared folders. When I try to add the shared printers on the Vista system the printers are listed in the Windows Printer Installation dialog. However, when I select a printer and click Next and error dialog opens with the message "Windows cannot connect to the printer. Access is denied". This happens for both printers..........

soon) of my computers on any network (wireless) I connect to. When I installed Vista bare clean, it did detect my netword computers, even the XP ones. But now, I feel like I should reinstall Vista. But, I really don't want to restore all (I have over 40gb) of my data. That would just take forever. Is there anyway at all to restore ALL Vista's Networking features/software to normal. Or back to default. I cannot restore using System Restore. I have been having this for about a month now, and it really messes me up! Over a week of using it, I just cannot detect any of my Networks. I can in Ubuntu; but not in Vista (my primary OS). I really love Windows. But, this is one of the worst glitches I have ever had with it.
Is it possible to reinstall Vista's Network and Sharing Center? I really want to detect my XP machines again. You might say, install LTDD (??) onto the XP machines. Well, the problem is, it still does not work. When I was using this PC a while ago, they were detected fine. But now, I cannot find any PC (hardly any; dunno why) on my network. I have a new Dell with Windows Vista Business installed. I set it up to connect to the network printers and everything was fully operational. I was printing fine on 2/15/08. I came into work this morning 2/19/08 and when I try to print I get a message saying unable to print. I get the same message with 2 different canon printers and 1 hp laserjet printer. I tried removing the printer and reinstalling it and there was no change. I installed it locally and there was no change. I stopped and restarted the print spooler and there was no change. I cannot even print a test page.
