We use hundreds of photos a day to cut out, and edit and use on our online ecommerce shopfronts. We have no software now that lets us cut out objects and put them into new backgrounds. I dont care that you took PICTUREIT! away (WELL I DO CARE), if you had replaced it with something else that was equally as functional or better, but to take it away and not replace it with anything comparible is rediculous! You have gone back 7 years in time
People use this software every single day of the week. I use it so much I would be willing to pay a per month price to have access to it ! Could Microsoft PLEASE give us a suitable program that is VISTA compatible. Why dont you just make these obsolete products available by monthly subscription ? you would make HEAPS of money off it and your customers would be a lot happier than they are now ! I installed my Sims 1 game and everything that should be at the bottom of the screen is in the middle. Evidently it isn't compatible with Vista. or is there a way I can make it compatible. I already clicked on properties and picked run as XP and I already click to run as administrator. Nothing works.
Without a doubt the worst windows version ever made! Microsoft were finally on track with windows XP pro but they had to go and screw it up by bringing us vista! Nothing works, nothing is compatible every program supposedly compatible seizes or shuts down! It is constantly vulnerable to viruses! There's no end to the complaints I have about this crappy version of windows! Wake up microsoft because you're just soft now and nothing micro about it!
so its an acer aspire running vista home premium 32 with no updates ever... its my step dads...i cant get into system restore. it wont update. it wont let me into anything even tho i have told it i am the administrator and it says i am... it still says i need to be an administrator. it wont let me into anything that might let me add or remove a program and i get this msg constantly about a badimage telling me that oledlg.dll is not valid or not compatible... i realize now it is a malware problem of some kind i didnt find it with nis or with malware bytes... i ran compufix. it also stalls out when downloading... it will get about 10% of what ever file i am getting then stall out... i attached the log.txt that i got when i ran compufix.... i realize this note is all over the place.... i am at my wits end here...
I'm writing a batch file which calls a 32 bit.exe program. I want it to be compatible with the different Windows operating systems. The problem is that the path to "Program Files" is different depending which OS is being used.
I have an HP Pavillion computer running Vista Home Basic 64bit and I just now swapped graphics cards with my dad, this graphics card is running through a PCI express slot I believe. And I boot my computer with it in and it defaults to the onboard graphics. And when I go to device manager it just says "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" under "Display Adapters" and my moniter is plugged into the graphics card. Not the onboard one. And it confuses me because I'm getting picture form the PCI graphics card but when I try to play World of Warcraft it says it can't find a suitable graphics card. And that makes me know that it's running with onboard because this card has played WoW before. Anyway I guess I just need to install drivers for it but.. I honestly don't know what kind of graphics card it is. I know it's an Nvidia GeForce. I think it's an 8500 but I'm not sure. I don't want to have to pay for a driver search tool like Driver Detective.
i am currently running windows vista ultimate 64bit i have found it really difficult to find working drivers for my creative sound blaster live! value sound card, i was just woundering if anyone knows of any links that would come in use, i have tried several websites including creative-labs ( maker of sound cad ) but still cannot find suitible working drivers.....

before this i try to install vista on my machine. and for sure in that time we need to create user (adminstrator) before we start using the vista. after that, i try to keep an image for my vista because if anything happen, it will be more easier to me. then, i try to image on my machine again. but, there already have i user which mean the administrator that i create during the 1st installation. so, when i do the image, i need to put the different user name because the user name that i try to create already exist. so that will create 2 different user when imaging is done. is there any way how to delete the 1st user? so when imaging is done, it will only 1 user (new user) and the windows will be automatically show the desktop. (i know how to delete from control panel>user account). actually this is for my client.
Yesterday when I tried to open Mozilla Firefox, they showed up some error like crash something, I removed the old, install the new, the problem is still there.
I don't know why, before it ran smooth. I did try to install the old version firefoxe 2.0 but impossible.
When i insert the Quake 4 disc in drive i have an error message that the program has known compatibility issues with the version of Vista. Also says to have the latest version of macromedia flash player installed, which i have. System requirements are all ok on pc. Is it ok to go ahead with the install, and will it run ok once i have.
How do I find out if I have software on my pc that is not compatible with Vista? A month or so ago I kept getting a popup message and I went through all the steps, but did not come up with anything and now every time I sign in to my user the screen comes up for a few seconds and then "blinks". everything else seems to be fine - I just find the blink annoying and concerning (it seems that it is eventually not a good thing).
having the above game bought me for xmas, and then trying to install it on my pc nothing happens. Operating system vista 64-bit ultimate edition, also tried it on my 32bit version and still no luck all other games run fine,is there anyway around this problem even on the back of the box its compatible with vista.
Partition Wizard. I have been using v4.0 on 7 x64 and Vista x64 for some time. It works perfectly. Now v4.1 is available for home use completely free :. Boot disc also. Small, fast and effective 32 and 64 bit compatible. All the functions you are likely to need , including partition undelete and partition/disk copy as well as move/resize, etc. Supported filesystems FAT and NTFS - so only for Windows users. Free Download Partition Wizard Competition is really hotting up in the disk management area.
Will a device that states that it is supported by Xp,but says nothing about vista(created before vista)will it be able to work on a vista based computer?
Can I down grade to XP if I do not have a recovery disk? I just bought a new laptop with Vista, I despreatly need the office programs, my Office 2003 disk is not compatible with Vista. I would rather down grad to XP than have to buy 2007 Office software.
I have recently bought an mp4 player, the website i bought it from shows it being compatible for windows vista, please could you take a look and tell me if this is correct
I am using Vista Home Premium and cannot open .php files created with Microsoft Greetins since Microsoft Greetings (the best Greeting card program ever made!) is incompatible with Vista. How can one open the files created in the .php format? Adobe Go-Live tries to open them, but fails.
Several months ago, I was attempting to install software that I didn't think to consider was not compatible with Vista. It was made for Windows XP, and I was deleting files on my C: Drive to make room. I accidentally deleted a file that took my desktop with it. Now, when I log on, to any user on the computer, there is a black screen with the "My Computer" window up. I've included a picture to show. Minimized windows are irrelevant. I'm just multi-tasking at the moment.
About programming and is directed at the programmers and developers who may monitor this site. If this is the wrong forum in which to be posting, please direct me to the correct site.To provide a little background: a few years back when I was running XP I spent some considerable time learning the basics of programming using Liberty Basic. After some success with this platform I decided it was time to attempt to expand my knowledge using a more flexible and comprehensive platform. I purchased the referenced product version 2003. I had really just gotten into it when I accepted a number of contract positions that kept me out of the country for a number of years. (Construction supervision constantly on the move.) When I finally retired and went back to the computer for pleasure and learning, I switched to Vista as my O/S. I went back and brushed up on my knowledge using liberty Basic and have decided it is time to give C++ programming another try. I have installed the required platform, but I get a message telling me that there is compatibility issues.
My questions are these: is the 2003 version of this platform compatible with Vista? If not, can I update it or will I have to purchase a newer version? I have checked the links provided with the disks to update at least some of the components (there has to be about a hundred different upgrades and I'm not sure which ones I will require.)

find an external (USB) voice modem that would be compatible with Vista. There should be mic in, spkr out jacks on the modem for it to be a true voice modem. I would like to use my computer as a telephone. I want to be able to plug the telephone landline into the external modem, and use programs (such as MS Outlook) to make telephone calls from my computer.
If you have a video card that is using WDDM drivers and supports DirectX 9c but is not allowing you to use vista glass, there is a cool trick that you can use to force Aero to run. Follow the steps below:
Click on the start button and key in regedit and hit Enter.
Navigate through, HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software, Microsoft, Windows and DWM.
Set Composition to 1 and CompositionPolicy to 2.
Restart the DWM by restarting the Desktop Windows Manager Session Manager service. This can be done in services.msc or by typing net stop uxsms and net start uxsms at command prompt....
Using VISTA Ultimate on an IBM T60p laptop. I am going to upgrade the hard drive from 100 to 320 GB. I have a 300GB SimpleTech external drive. I want to copy (image) the current hard drive to the SimpleTech, replace the hard drive and copy the image of from the SimpleTech back to the new drive.
1. Can this be done? 2. What software should one use? 3. Where would one find the steps necessary to do the imaging portion. (I can handle the hardware.)
------ Unrelated - why can't I make a post on the Microsoft website to this Newsgroup? Everytime I click New and choose Question I get a hand with a explosion symbol and nothing else?
I have an Epson stylus photo R200 printer. It prints phots and CDs. The photo function works fine with Vista, but when I try to print a CD, the image is WAY off-center. Are there any Vista patches or downloads that will correct this problem?
