i am currently running windows vista ultimate 64bit i have found it really difficult to find working drivers for my creative sound blaster live! value sound card, i was just woundering if anyone knows of any links that would come in use, i have tried several websites including creative-labs ( maker of sound cad ) but still cannot find suitible working drivers.....
View 4 RepliesI have an Audigy 2 ZS and i can't get the sound to work for the life of me. The latest drivers are from May which seems almost unacceptable. I tried disabling my onboard sound card in the BIOS and in windows cuz i thought there might be conflicts but it didn't do anything. So then i was thinking of getting a new X-Fi card because i thought it would have to work on Vista 64, and then i came across the other threads complaining about sound issues.
As of right now im using the Realtek onboard sound device...It is HD audio, but i would like my sound blaster to work properly. I'm still getting weird sound issues while playing Bioshock, once a lot of sounds start happening at the same time, some of them will just cut out. Anyone know of any fixes for my Augidy 2?
Just installed a Creative X-FI titanium and worked perfectly in Vista 64 bit. I had to use the PCIE x4 slot as the X1 slot would not fit on the motherboard due to the heat sinks. It really did make a huge difference in the sound quality from the on board sound.

I open device manager and it says i have no drivers...DUH! i tried to do the update through windows.... no luck. I tried the drivers of the Soyo.usa.com website... it says "Unknown OS" when i execute the installer.. damn I believe I have AC97 integrated audio..
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have my startup time down to a reasonable one, but my problem is after It boots. When I get to my desktop, it takes 4-5 mins to be able to open any programs. All I have to startup is my AVG antivirus, and sound & graphics drivers. Will post any necessary info.Tried spyware scans and virus scans, no problems there.

View 9 Replies View Relatedmy computer is a hp pavilion a1230n and when i upgraded it to windows vista, the sound card suddenly stopped working! i looked around, and my sound card doesn't seem to have any drivers for windows vista. i looked at the model, and i think this is it :integrated ati radeon xpress 200. my device manager says no device has been installed, but it's there because it was working with windows xp. i was wondering if there's any way i could update it or something.

Mine keeps cutting out randomly, I think iTunes may be the most guilty (usually happens whenever I stop/pause then resume my sound dies). Before the patch I figured out a way to get around it about 75% of the time, I would just close iTunes and any sound/media based program and re-launch them and it would work again. But now it seems that that does not work anymore
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an HP Pavillion computer running Vista Home Basic 64bit and I just now swapped graphics cards with my dad, this graphics card is running through a PCI express slot I believe. And I boot my computer with it in and it defaults to the onboard graphics. And when I go to device manager it just says "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" under "Display Adapters" and my moniter is plugged into the graphics card. Not the onboard one. And it confuses me because I'm getting picture form the PCI graphics card but when I try to play World of Warcraft it says it can't find a suitable graphics card. And that makes me know that it's running with onboard because this card has played WoW before. Anyway I guess I just need to install drivers for it but.. I honestly don't know what kind of graphics card it is. I know it's an Nvidia GeForce. I think it's an 8500 but I'm not sure. I don't want to have to pay for a driver search tool like Driver Detective.

We have no software now that lets us cut out objects and put them into new backgrounds. I dont care that you took PICTUREIT! away (WELL I DO CARE), if you had replaced it with something else that was equally as functional or better, but to take it away and not replace it with anything comparible is rediculous! People use this software every single day of the week. I use it so much I would be willing to pay a per month price to have access to it ! Could Microsoft PLEASE give us a suitable program that is VISTA compatible. Ive planned to get vista 64 seeing as i have a machine capable of running a 64 bit o/s with ease (when i buy my extra 2gb of ram along with my copy of vista) I have been doing my research on which of my games ill still be able to play & tbh the only ones that im remotely worried about are older than red orchestra so no problems there.
My only real concern is the drivers for my belkin wireless card (f5d7001uk) which doesnt have any vista 32 drivers! But ive heard a rumour that vista automatically installs the drivers itself?? Im also worried that some of the useful little apps i have installed wont install such as winrar, wavepad, deepburner pro 1.8 & punkbuster
While being satisfied by the cool effects and new interface of Windows Vista Codename Longhorn, many of us testers are what you would call "gamers." The lot of us would like to know if gaming on the default Vista Supplemental drivers would mean loss of graphics quality compared to using up to date drivers on a XP OS. For example, I installed Vista and then installed my trusty game, Battlefield 2. I tried using the new nvidia Vista drivers but the game kept crashing when I start it up. So I reinstalled the Vista Supplemental drivers and it happened to work. Quite interesting. I am able to run the game on default vista drivers and not the nvidia vista drivers. Coming to conclusion, would using the vista drivers result in loss of quality and graphics compared to using up to date drivers on a XP system? Or you can also rephrase it; Would gaming be better on the Vista Beta or XP? Does anyone know if SLI works on Vista?

Then after my computer crash and I had to restore everything, it stopped syncing right with the computer. Every time I plug the USB cable in, it says the device is not connected. Now, another problem is that I have to update the firmware on my Mp3 player in order for it to work (So I can also put more music onto it). But in order to do that, I need it to connect.and before I forget: Yes, I tried changing USB cords and different USB ports.

Prior to formatting my computer my soundcard and its software worked perfectly however after i formatted, my creative audio console doesnt really work properly. For example. Before if i adjusted the master volume in the audio console, it would synronise and adjust the volume in the default windows sound mixer now it doesnt. Secondly before if i plugged in headphones the sound would autmatically go through the headphones and mute the speakers. Now if i open the console and go to the headphones section, I have mute speakers checked and automatically enable headphone settings checked and if i plug in my headphones, sound still comes out of speakers but if i press test in the audio console, the test lady voice comes through the headphones whilst other sounds still continues through the speakers. I have reinstalled the drivers twice now and updated the drivers.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to Vista U x64 and am having sound problems. I have a prelude x-fi sound card but the sound coming out of it is extremely low. I have maxed out every thing I can max (control panel sound, creative panel) and the sound level is whisper quiet. I have also upgraded all my drivers except the prelude's, I would but their website isn't offering those drivers at the moment. But the drivers supplied with the card are vista certified so I should get something. But my mobo, etc is all updated. I have been searching for a solution for two days to no avail.

I don't know if this is related to using vista x64, but when I use Flip 3D, Live Messenger conversation windows don't appear in Flip, instead they appear in the background. I don't know if this is caused by using Vista x64, maybe it's a problem with Messenger.
This is my question: I'd like to try Vista Ultimate x86, and, as I have a machine with 2GB of RAM, could I experience any kind of troubles (in performance) using Vista x86 in my laptop? I'd like to know what kind of stuff I could lose because of moving from Vista x64 to Vista x86... maybe DEP? What else could I lose?
By the way, I use these programs frequently: VMware Workstation 6.5, Visual Studio 2008, MS Office 2007, SQL Server 2005... and other common programs (like WinZip, Adobe Reader, Live Messenger 9, etc). I don't use other programs (like Photoshop, intensive games or the like), and I have usually open, for example, VMware, WMP11 with Visual Studio at the same time.

if xp can be used instad of vista in a laptop that says " designed for vista"? Iwas told in best buy that such thing would slow the laptop and make it not working properly, because the drivers in xp are out of date... how about if i find the drivers for the laptop and instal them seperatedly with xp? Two questions:
(1) Where can I get the drivers that would be needed for my computer to run the 64 bit version? I haven't started the machine yet, but would run it a while with the 32 bit version. I assume I would download the drivers, then install the 64 bit version.
(2) Is it correct that any programs or hardware compatible with the 32 bit version will run with the 64 bit version, even though there will not necessarily be any improvement in performance?
Have a new SonyZ laptop with Vista Business installed. It is clashing with almost everything I've tried to load. Main problem is trying to connect to an external monitor: Viewsonic VA1912w. I cannot find any drivers which will let this happen. Earlier posts (some time ago) suggest that the connection was not possible but was expected to be feasible in the near future ie it should be available now.
