Creative Titanium Sound Card Can't Work
Aug 29, 2009
Just installed a Creative X-FI titanium and worked perfectly in Vista 64 bit. I had to use the PCIE x4 slot as the X1 slot would not fit on the motherboard due to the heat sinks. It really did make a huge difference in the sound quality from the on board sound.

I shall start from the beginning of why i need someones key for a registry entry, i have a creative webcam that will not work with vista, so after using it with XP, i got sick of having it on my hard drive, so i bought a cheap camera so i can use webcam on vista, unfortunately, when i came to install it, the camera installed but kept getting a code 10 driver could not load. So after a few trolling sessions to find a resolution, i found i had to edit a key in the registry, in this case : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass{6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F} and delete the upper and lower values to allow driver load. after a restart, everything looked good, my camera is now loading up and drivers are working, but everytime i try and use it, i get this

Prior to formatting my computer my soundcard and its software worked perfectly however after i formatted, my creative audio console doesnt really work properly. For example. Before if i adjusted the master volume in the audio console, it would synronise and adjust the volume in the default windows sound mixer now it doesnt. Secondly before if i plugged in headphones the sound would autmatically go through the headphones and mute the speakers. Now if i open the console and go to the headphones section, I have mute speakers checked and automatically enable headphone settings checked and if i plug in my headphones, sound still comes out of speakers but if i press test in the audio console, the test lady voice comes through the headphones whilst other sounds still continues through the speakers. I have reinstalled the drivers twice now and updated the drivers.

I just upgraded to Vista U x64 and am having sound problems. I have a prelude x-fi sound card but the sound coming out of it is extremely low. I have maxed out every thing I can max (control panel sound, creative panel) and the sound level is whisper quiet. I have also upgraded all my drivers except the prelude's, I would but their website isn't offering those drivers at the moment. But the drivers supplied with the card are vista certified so I should get something. But my mobo, etc is all updated. I have been searching for a solution for two days to no avail.

I don't know if this is the right place for this or not, but I can'tget any help out of Panda at all, so i'm kind of grasping right now.... I use Vista Ultimate with Panda Titanium as my AV/Firewall. Panda is causing my IE to sometimes lag 40 seconds in opening up pages. On average, it's about 60 percent of the pages I open that lag this much. pages that run ads and such are pretty much a given. I run the same panda AV on my XP machine and it doesn't lag this bad. And if I turn off Panda, pages load up without delay. So it is definately Panda causing the problem.... or is it Vista?.....
I'm not sure what exactly I'm after except to somehow change the situation. Does anybody else use panda with the same results? or do other panda users have no lag? Is windows capable of protecting itself with it's own security measures? [probably asking for it with that question....] I know of plenty of AV packages, are there other suggestions about what might be causing the problems or places I might check for a remedy to the slowdown? Panda is, i suppose, uninterested in helping since they won't respond to my tech support inquiries. Either this is the way it is supposed to be, so they don't other, or well, i don't know. but i'm tired of the delays. it's too frustrating having to wait this much time for pages to load.

I've got an Asus A8N32 Sli Deluxe Mobo and my Creative X-Fi card started making all kinds of static after i reinstalled windows. I've been looking for a solution but with little to no results. So now I'm looking for a replacement card with decent to good performance for a 5.1 sound system PCI-E x1 interface but above all, few to none compatability issues with Vista 64.

I bought my laptop, featuring windows vista, about a year ago. During that time, I have noticed two things I could do on my older computer that had XP but can't do on Vista. (a) I cannot listen to anything I record into my computer while recording it. I have to record, then listen back. (b) I cannot record anything that is playing on my computer.
I read somewhere about copyright issues or something, but I work in the radio business, so I use my laptop for audio recording all the time. When you are recording an hour or longer broadcast for re-airing or for archive purposes, it really sucks if the audio doesn't record right, something you fix if you were able to here it during recording.

I just recently formatted and reinstalled Vista because i changed my motherbored and Processor so i felt like a new start. After waiting for all the Windows updates to finish i turned on some music and my Sound was messed up, i have sound it just dosn't seem to work right. On some ill be able to hear everything but the singer and on others and hear only the singer. This also effects games, i turn on my scarface seeing it was closest game near me and installed it, on that i can't hear Scarfaces voice, or the cars around me but i can hear other people speak. Does anyone know whats wrong with my sound? I use the soundcard that is built onto my motherbored because i have never had need of a Sound card in the past. my new motherbored is an MSI motherbored and my processor is Intel core 2 duo.

hey, i upgraded my graphics card (ATI HD3850) on my computer and it works fine but i no longer have sound on my computer. i tryed updating the drivers and changing the settings and still no sound. when i take out the graphics card i have sound again. i asked bestbuy and they said that i shorted out something on the motherboard, i told them that when i take the card back out i have sound again and they were clueless about what to do. nobody that i've talked to has ever heard of this happening. they said it seems like a driver conflict and to upgrade the drivers, but that didn't work. does anyone have any ideas?

Having bought a new computer, I recently upgraded from XP 32 bits to Vista 64 bits. On XP 32 bits, the sound was awesome, but on vista 64 bits. IT SOUNDS LIKE CRAP!It's like if I had 10$ speakers with no sound card. I'm using optical with the latest Auzentech drivers with Creative alchemy and Ive set my speakers to 5.1. When I change settings in the Auzentech control panel, it doesn't get any better. I can enable X-Fi Crystalizer, change the equalizer to vocals, rock, anything, it doesn't make any difference.

I just got the Razer Barracuda headset and I wanna get the most sound out of it. Now on the back the out ports work for all the wires but when I try to plug into the mic one on the back it doesn't. So I`m either suck with a mic that sounds like i`m miles away and great sound, Or i`m with a great mic and decent sound(just front speakers). It works on the front however but on the front there is only room for a front speaker. Is there a way around this?....This is what it says in the owners manual about the ports 1 microphone connector Use the microphone connector to attach a personal computer microphone for voice or musical input into a sound or telephony program. Now the only line in connect on the back 9 Line in connector Use the (Blue) line-in connector to attach a record/playback device such as a cassette player,CD player,

I have Vista Ultimate 64bit, with Realtek onboard sound on my mother board. However, my Quadraphonic speakers don't seem to be working as I can only get sound to come out of my front two speakers when in WMP etc. when I go into control panel, I can get sound coming out of all 4 speakers, that silly test sound.

I have an Hewlett Packard SR5401UK pc running Vista 32-bit it has onboard graphics & sound but I've just installed an NVIDIA 8800gs graphics card, the card works fine but for some reason the sound has disappeared!! i've just updated the realtek drivers but still have the problem!! it worked fine before installing the g.card , whats even more strange is that when i plug in my headphones i can hear sound but nothing at all through the speakers!!
When i installed the 8800gs it disabled the onboard g.card automatically itself i was wondering if it has done the same with the sound? but if it had i wouldnt be able to hear sound through the headphones right? device manager says the sound is working fine!

I've recently finished a new build, and I got a set of Bose Companion 3's for my setup. and I must say, they are by FAR the best PC speakers I've ever owned Hands Down.. MUCH better than the Logitech 5.1 I had. But thats why Bose is the best..I have the eVGA 750i Mobo and it's supposed to have a pretty Decent onboard sound card.. but then again, it's onboard so how good can it really be.? I've asked in a few other places what I should get and I was hoping for some ideas. I don't need anything amazing.
I for sure don't need the best like a "Auzen X-FI Prelude 7.1" I kno they rock but I'm not about to spend $200 on a sound card. Those are for the Music Enthusiasts. I personally think that it sounds pretty amazing right now. so some might say why even get a card if "I" think they sound great. some others might not, but i think they do. but I hear it's best to upgrade for the quality will be much better. and this EAX thing with gaming and what not. I was told that makes gaming sound.

This is a Vista issue because the unit works fine on an XP machine. Vista seem to recognize it and install the drivers when it's plugged in, including the message that the device has installed successfully. The only thing I can think of is that the drivers are bad. I've remove the device from device manager and nothing seems to help

I guess SigmaTel is famous for putting out pretty ****ty audio hardware/software because a lot of people claim to having had problems with thier sound cards...Anyway, I have no sound coming from my speakers what so ever except for the windows error beep. Theres an "x" on the speakers on the taskbar. The device name is there and claims to be working when I hover over the speaker sys. tray icon, also in device manager and in playback devices. Although the Levels tab in Sound>Speakers/Headphones>Properties is completely empty. The Volume Mixer claims there is NO audio device installed even tho' its there when I hover on the speaker icon. I've tried uninstalling and installing just about everything possible from both gateway and windows but the problem persists...

I installed an audio card (Sound Blaster X-Fi model SB046APCS) and I can't hear any sound comming out of my PC (I build it myself). The sound tests tell me everyting is working OK and that there are no confilcts with the card. Yesterday I downloaded the Vista audio driver SBXF_PCDVT_LB_2_15_0004.exe from Creative and still no sound. When performing the diagnostics, I can see a green color going up and down in the sound bar but thats all.
I have an Intel DX38BT motherboard, do I have to disable whatvever options there are for audio in the BIOS or the motherboard disables it when it detects an audio card installed? The sound card is recognized by the hardware manager. The dvd burners installed are the Plextor 810SA (sata) and the Memorex dvd burner(model 32023220). I have placed the music cd in both, with the same result, no sound can be heard. The speakers I am using are the JBL Creature (which works OK on my other pc).

I recently did a system re-build, as per my specs. I've been having awful crackling and sound stutters which sometimes appear to be causing lag spikes in games too. (Having said that, I get it even when doing simple taks like listening to music or watching movies on iTunes/Windows Media Player.) I've done all the usual things like updating to the latest BIOS/drivers, but still it won't go away. I've moved the sound card to another PCI slot and checked there's no IRQ conflicts too...

I'm very illiterate when it comes to computers. I got a Gateway laptop with Windows Vista included. The first time I started playing with it, games and such, I had sound but I stupidly put in the CD that came with the computer that apparently is only for reinstalling. Now I have no sound. I went to the Gateway download site and downloaded a driver that said it was compatible to my computer but it doesn't work. The little speaker at the bottom right shows a red X but my control panel area shows that it is working properly.
