This worked for me before but I messed it up. I used to be able to record the sound coming from my computer and play it to my microphone right away as it goes. Meaning when I record something, it would record whatever is playing on the computer. But I forgot how to make that setting.
View 9 RepliesIn XP I could record audio with sound recorder from anything I could hear. For example, if I was playing a WAV file, or listening to a song on the internet, I could record it. Now in Vista it only allows me to record from my microphone. I checked disabled devices and still can not get anything but the microphone to show up. Is there anyway around this besides sticking an audio cable from the headphone jack into my mic input? So far Vista has me aggravated with things I have lost, you would think a newer operating system would allow you more flexibility, not take it from you.

My OS is Vista x89 Ultimate with all the recent updates, and my problem is that i dont know how to record sound in Vista. I knew how to do it on XP with a very simple software like JetAudio, but on Vista its a bit confusing. To become more clear. I dont want to record from a microphone but from the computer itself. eg some sites that play music. i would like to know how to do such a thing.
View 9 Replies View Relatedi have bought a gateway M-1628 with a built in webcam and when i open camera assistant software program. it shows nothing the light for the webcam comes on like its on. but it shows no image at all. with the program i can record sound but no video. i uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it and still nothing. just wondering if there have been other problems. i have a Toshiba a while ago with the same program for the webcam just a little different and that one worked at first but just didn't work with messengers and later updated to work. but i can't find new updates of anything for the one i have now.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just built myself a computer and put on vista ultimate 64bit, and everything worked great until i turned on the sound... it seems like 80% of the sound is coming from the subwoofer and only 20% is coming from the speakers. its so annoying and obnoxious! all i can hear is 'thump thump thump' its horrible. ive searched around for hours and i cant find any solution. everything audiowise was perfect just a day ago when i was runnign xp I'm not a huge audio person. my set up is 2 speakers and a subwoofer. the software that came with the motherboard is realtek HD audio manager
I have an HP laptop, not sure what the model is. And its running vista. I've been trying to record my guitar for awhile now using various different methods. Audacity recorder with line in, and mic. My webcam, the recorder on vista etc. And i get the same results every time. It sounds good for about 20 ish seconds, then massive quality drop and it gets skippy and staticy and just all around horrible.

Im using the integrated sound from the motherboard , is SoundMax Integrated Digital HD Audio, Driver 6.10.2.6110 , I've try reinstalling the driver but it didn't fix anything. View 9 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to Vista U x64 and am having sound problems. I have a prelude x-fi sound card but the sound coming out of it is extremely low. I have maxed out every thing I can max (control panel sound, creative panel) and the sound level is whisper quiet. I have also upgraded all my drivers except the prelude's, I would but their website isn't offering those drivers at the moment. But the drivers supplied with the card are vista certified so I should get something. But my mobo, etc is all updated. I have been searching for a solution for two days to no avail.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought this computer about 2 months ago, installed a few games and anti-virus etc. I can play the games fine (Warhammer, WoW) on max graphics with no problems at all however the whole computer will just randomly freeze while playing. The freeze only lasts for about 10-30 seconds, during the freeze the sound loops in the background and the computer acts as if it is working really hard, occasionally it ends in a blue screen although this has only happened twice out of about 60 freezes. I have updated all drivers, checked my network and hardware etc. I thought it may have been a problem with DirectX as when i installed one of my games it froze on the install, i have since reinstalled DirectX off a clean download with no problems.

I have tried turning off sleep / hybrid sleep / hibernate, but the computer still goes into "sleep" of some kind. When it comes out of sleep, I can hear a whirling sound, which could be the harddrive starting up, but moments later it sounds like it spins down and stops, and then the whole computer freezes up, and I have to turn it off and then turn it back on in order to make it work again. I've tried to make it (using power options) so that the harddrive does not power down, but

I am having a bad microphone problem. I have a Maximus Formula II with a Supreme FX Audio Card (Which I just got the latest updates off Asus.com) Quad Core Pc with Vista x64 My computer recognizes my Microphone but yet I cant record anything, use vent, or teamspeak. My Desktop PC was working fine yesterday, but today there is no sound at all from the speakers. I opened Device Manager and found everything normal: there was no yellow questions marks beside the Sound item. The speaker cables are also firmly connected to the PC. I've ran AVG, SpyBot & Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware to scan for virus, etc, but found none.

Ive had no sound since I instaled Vista Im gona try to explain to problem even tho my Vista is in swedish. Anyway when I got to the thing were I choose what kind of sound I wont for exampel "Stereo" (Right and Left speaker) or 5.1-surround. Ive only got 2 speakers so mine is set to Stereo and theres no sound from the right and left speaker. BUT when I try the

I bought a new laptop with vista home premium 32, she set it up as a standard user an now it's impossible to install anything onto computer because the system is still asking for admin. password and even if we know that one (well there haven't been password set up) in that dialog box it's nowhere to write it. How we can make her account changed to administrator?
Only one way I came up with is to use recovery disk set it up differently, well not sure about that and don't fancy it much.
I installed the service pack 1 and I don't have sound now. I have tried reinstalling my drivers, and all that other mumbo-jumbo from the microsoft page, but I still don't have sound.
I have vista home premium, running on an Acer aspire t180. Does anyone know what I can do, or where I can go to solve this problem? According to my computer, my speakers are working....there is just NO SOUND!
