Alright, I got the fatal1ty headset and I'm having a problem with my MIC. The headphones are working perfectly. It's recognizing the headset but no sound is coming out when I speak, seems like it's on mute, on the headset the mic is set on "on."
View 8 RepliesI am posting from work, but should have enough information for you guys for a start. I just got a new computer on Friday, and have been having some problems with sound. I have gone to the Asus sight and downloaded the drivers again for the motherboard, and am using onboard sound. I don't recall the exact specifics, but its onboard Realtek. Sound works fine from my speakers, but I have not been able to get the computer to recognize just a standard headset that I was using with my other computer that same day, so I know the headset is working. My setup is Does anyone have any suggestions that would enable my computer to recognize when the headphones are plugged in so that I may use Ventrilo and listen to music?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis worked for me before but I messed it up. I used to be able to record the sound coming from my computer and play it to my microphone right away as it goes. Meaning when I record something, it would record whatever is playing on the computer. But I forgot how to make that setting.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just built myself a computer and put on vista ultimate 64bit, and everything worked great until i turned on the sound... it seems like 80% of the sound is coming from the subwoofer and only 20% is coming from the speakers. its so annoying and obnoxious! all i can hear is 'thump thump thump' its horrible. ive searched around for hours and i cant find any solution. everything audiowise was perfect just a day ago when i was runnign xp I'm not a huge audio person. my set up is 2 speakers and a subwoofer. the software that came with the motherboard is realtek HD audio manager
I have a headset (mic & earphone). I used it on my old system and it worked fine, but now that I've upgraded to Vista x64 it seems to not work. I'm wondering if maybe there is a setting or something that I have missed somewhere?
The problem: I can hear sound coming from it...so no problems there. The sound quality is great just like before..now then, the problem is that the mic seems to not work anymore. No one can hear me and I've tried testing by recording myself and it doesn't play back anything either. I also tried hooking it back up to my old PC and it worked fine...so its definitely a software problem of some sort..
I am having troubles getting my mic/headset to do anything. Ive tried changing every setting that I see but nothing seems to be working. I have a Creative SB X-FI Sound card and I am using the Line In/Digital I/O/Mic In port for my Mic and the Line Out1 for my headset.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI see to be having a rather odd problem with my Vista, Headset Mic, and Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS card. Ive searched and searched for a solution to this problem on this board but nothing seems to working.here's my deal:I have the correct drivers installed for my Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS card.I am able to hear the Mic on my headset loud and clear on both headphones and speakers. This is the weird part. Everything says its connected and working, and yet, STEAM won't detect anything coming from my mic and neither will Sound Recorder in Vista. I can hear the mic perfectly when I un-mute it in playback, but for some really weird reason,none of the software I try to use it with can detect the sound when I speak into it when it can all be heard clearly I have the latest sound blaster drivers for my card and even installed the new beta one for this model and still no luck.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Razer Carcharias gaming headset. It has always worked properly and very well. Now today for some reason the mic on it has decided to stop working. I've checked my sound levels and my boost option, and they are all turned all the way up.
So my question to you is, what should I do next to get this working again? I run my own ventrilo server, so its kind of dumb to do that if I can't even talk on it
so I'm running a MSI 790x Plat and Windows Vista x64 everything is plugged in correctly according the the manual, and I have all of my drivers updated, but it still doesnt recognize the headset or head phones for that matter. This headset works on other computers so i know its not the headset. I've asked around and people have told me i might need to enable it in the BIOS, but I've looked around and i don't know how to find it there. So I guess what im asking is if anyone can help me find the setting within the BIOS where i can enable it, or do i have to do something else.

The headset is a free one that came with some language learning software so there's no driver. In the sound manager, Vista detects the microphone as being plugged in - as a "Microphone/Line In - SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC", but no program notices any sound coming from it. It is set as the default microphone and it's enabled. It works on my old computer still.

I then downloaded the drivers from the creative website for windows 32bit and restarted. Still no mic i checked the settings in the sound and nothing is muted and all bars are at high. View 4 Replies View Related1) Headset plugged into front jacks is not working and it looks like my PC hasn't even sensed the headset bcos I expected it to it ask me about what I have plugged into the jack if it was not sure.
2) Rear speakers are working fine for playbacks. Rear jack microphone is working for recording but the issue is the audio being recorded cannot be heard from speakers. After I stop recording I can play and hear the recording but not while I am recording it.
Has someone faced this and has some solutions for me? Let me make it clear that same hardware works absolutely fine when the OS was XP. I had a fresh Vista install couple of days back on hardware with Intel motherboard, Intel core 2 duo 946GZ Express chipset. I have every possible (also all optional) latest update for the OS. I have installed latest drivers meant for Vista (audio and graphics accelerators) downloaded and installed yesterday from Intel site.
As I was playing a game my speakers stopped and minimized, then my Realtek HD Audio Manager says that my headset is plugged in, I looked to see if it was, it wasn't...and now my sound is muted, I rebooted the computer and there was no change, I closed Realtek Audio Manager down and started it back up and still no change!

I decided to build a new computer and bought all new components including a new hard drive and installed Vista on this new computer. I want to get some pictures and other files off the old HDD but Vista is not recognizing the old drive. My old HDD is an IDE and new one is SATA. I have the jumper set to slave (DVD is master) and when I started the computer, Vista recognized the drive and installed drivers, but I can't access it. I've gone through Computer Management and the drive is there but not assigned a letter and I can't assign it a letter. I've also tried converting it to run through USB and the same issue.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using 32 bit Vista Home Premium and an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum sound card. The OS is not recognizing my rear speakers at all. I've tried letting Vista install the drivers itself and I've also used beta and current release drivers from Creative's site. 5.1 sound is enabled in the sound properties tab in Vista along with Creative Audio Console. I've toyed around with different settings and these are the results. If audio console is set to 2.1 and Vista 5.1, all channels play correctly but rear channels play through Front Left and right speakers. If both are set to 5.1, sound is distorted, center and sub don't play, and there is no sound from rear. Sound plays through rear speakers if I use Dolby Pro Logic II settings on my speakers (Logitech Z-5500). That said, the OS still does not play through the rear channels. This only works on movies and music, but not games or other software. At one point in the past, my rear-right channel would work. I don't know what I did, but no nothing works.

I have my speakers hooked up to a Turtle Beach Montego DDL. I couldnt find any X64 bit drivers for this card, so i figured there had to be other drivers that had the same chipset......I was right. So i have different drivers for the card.

Bottom right of screen still says evaluation copy and a prompt comes up saying times almost up get a real version. Changed the product key multiple times and it keeps kicking back.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to install Vista Business x64 on an Asus Rampage II Extreme motherboard which has the ICH10 Intel controller (as well as a JMicron controller).
I have a single Spinpoint F1 (1TB) connected to SATA1 and a PATA optical drive on the JMicron controller.
Supposedly Vista has the relevant drivers to locate my SATA HDD however it never finds it.
I have the Intel controller configured as ACHI in the BIOS and the JMicron as IDE which as far as I am aware is correct.

I've been experiencing this problem for approximately six months on and off. Intermitently, when I go to attach a USB device (memory stick or ipod) I get the pop up "USB Device Not Recognized." At this point, nothing I attach will be recognized
In the Device Manager whatever I attach is listed as an Unknown Device. I check the Properties and get the advice "No drivers are installed for this devices" I've tried right clicking and Updating the Driver Software but get the response: "Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date". I check the Properties again and still get the advice "No drivers are installed for this devices".........................
I recently built a second PC for myself, and decided to try out Vista on it. It installed flawlessly, but there's one problem. Vista does not seem to be recognizing my LAN connection. I tried hard-wiring it from my modem, to my router, to the Ethernet port on the back of my computer with no success. From there, I tried plugging it straight from my modem to the port on the back of the computer.
No success there either. I know that it's not a problem with the motherboard because I installed this program that came with the mobo called 'Expressgate'; and when I run that before my computer loads the OS, the internet works perfectly.
i have a maxtor 250gb external harddrive, this morning it was workin perfectly now computer will not recognise it as being there even though the light is on, i have tried, unplugging and plugging back in lots of times but still not working,

When playing a video off my HD in the Media Center, then inserting a DVD, Vista refuses to see the DVD or any other movie I insert! When I quit Media Center, the DVD is suddenly recognized and everything works fine. I want to use this without a keyboard in my living room, so this solution isn't viable.
