The sound level recorded with my microphone is very low. I have tried to change the mic level but Windows will put it back to 47%, without allowing me to put the level up to 100%.Does anybody know why?
View 5 RepliesThis worked for me before but I messed it up. I used to be able to record the sound coming from my computer and play it to my microphone right away as it goes. Meaning when I record something, it would record whatever is playing on the computer. But I forgot how to make that setting.

I have already disabled all sound effects, switched plugs from back panel to front, and tried different speakers and it does only in WMP, every enhancement is off except for the EQ which didn't change anything anyway.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn XP I could record audio with sound recorder from anything I could hear. For example, if I was playing a WAV file, or listening to a song on the internet, I could record it. Now in Vista it only allows me to record from my microphone. I checked disabled devices and still can not get anything but the microphone to show up. Is there anyway around this besides sticking an audio cable from the headphone jack into my mic input? So far Vista has me aggravated with things I have lost, you would think a newer operating system would allow you more flexibility, not take it from you.

Im using the integrated sound from the motherboard , is SoundMax Integrated Digital HD Audio, Driver 6.10.2.6110 , I've try reinstalling the driver but it didn't fix anything. Please if anyone knows anything about this let me know, I used to talk with people over the net about 5 months ago with this same computer and everything worked .

I have downloaded Fee MP3 recorder in which there is tab "Record From". when I press this tab I get only " Master Volume" instead of Streo Mix which I used to get in my previous pc with XP OS.When I press this Master volume , no sound coming from PC get recorded.

When I connect my Epson CX3200 printer to a PC with XP o.s., I can see the ink levels in the properties window. Wen I connect to a PC with Vista o.s. I am unable to view any ink levels.

When I moved to Vista the old driver no longer worked and the Vista driver did not provide any capability for monitoring ink levels. Recently this unit is not recognising pre-recorded or formatted discs which it previously had recognised. I have a HP laptrop and the drive is a matshita DVD-RAM UJ-850S ATA. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the driver with no success. In one of the forums it is suggested that the 'UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters" in the HKEY registry be deleted but I am not sure about doing this without someone in the know gives it their OK.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Epson Stylus C64 printer which I am able to use as normal (with ink levels and status monitor appearing) on my old computer with Windows XP.
My new laptop is Vista and although I have installed the Epson Stylus Printer Software that came with the printer onto the laptop, the Ink Indicator Levels and the Epson Status Monitor options showing in 'Printer Prefences' seem to be grayed-out/disabled. I am unable to gauge my ink levels so have no idea how much ink I have available and/or when to replace it. The actual printing seems to be fine at the moment but I am unable to tell when the ink requires replacing.
I have tried to re-install the Epson Printer software but nothing seems to change - the ink levels and status monitor contine to be disabled/grayed out. I noticed that when installing the software I am asked to disable any anti-virus software - I have Norton installed but have no idea how to uninstall it - my computer also seems to be automatically provided with something called McAfee Security - again I am unsure how to disable this and whether in fact I need to do this - it may be that the anti-virus programs are hindering the Epson software from fully loading? Any ideas and/or suggestions would be most welcome.
Windows Media Center will stop playing recorded tv. It says it is searching for a solution, and then restarts media center. This seems to happen over and over. I am trying to adjust my mixer to accomodate my new speakers, the voice is too low, and the base is too high. I have accessed the mixer and tried to make it tollerable, but have failed. There is no direct bass and treble adjustment, and there is not a "user" or "custom" setting. There are only presets, the problems with these presets, is that they work in certain situations, but not in others. Any advise? Am I looking in the worng place? Can I put software in place to adjust the levels indepent of each other? I am using the onboard sound card on an Abit IP35 Pro, and I am using Home Premium 64.

I have never been inside a pc so do not know anything about the inside. I have contacted the VIA company with no replies about the soundcard. I have tried both a desktop and headset w/mic and neither works.
Someone told me it is hard to get a microphone to work with Vista. Another said the guy put a new OS onto old hardware. I am on SS, so cannot afford another pc. Do I need a new soundcard, or try a usb mic? PLease advise. I have gone into sound in control panel and unmuted the mic. It says in there Line-in not available. Jack not available.

However, if I am on a hard wired connection, the microphone is fine. Also an external microphone works fine even when I am on the same wireless connection. I am in China, need to talk with family. I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop. My wife has the same computer and hers works fine on wireless. So I don’t feel that it is the wireless connection.

Recently reformatted due to some issues I was having that seemed unsolveable, everything was fixed but a new problem occured. My Razer Carcharias, and other microphones in my house, don't seem to be registering in my audiojacks.
This wasn't an issue before my reformat, but now suddenly it says in Sound options "Not plugged in" ...
I have an HP Pavillion DV 2500 with Conexant smart audio, running Home Premium 32bit. Recently, the built-in microphone has stopped working and I am unable to make calls with Skype or to use the Sound recorder, all I hear when I playback is very strong background noise. I tried with headphones with the same result. I tried all the solutions proposed by Skype, test call, mic check etc but ..no luck! I went to Control Panel and Sounds, the microphone is shown as "working" and the driver is correctly installed and updated. I played around with the levels but it doesn't seem to change a thing.....I don't know what to do anymore!
