I need to know if anyone is aware of any software that can record everything that is being done on a PC I own and store this on a file in that computer or on a server in my own company where we can access it from another computer and view the recording without interfering with the usage of the recorded machine. Is there such a thing?
View 9 RepliesI frequently record movies on TV and view the dvr-ms recordings in VMC. I have some movies I would like to permanently save to disk and view in my Media Browser library. Although they originated as TV, is there an easy way to locate the movie metadata and introduce it into Media Browser so the covers, etc. show?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIm trying to record audio but only record what I hear & not record from my mic. Problem is my mic is my only option. I updated my drivers which are Conexant High Def Smart Audio221 & also NVIDIA High Def Audio. But after I did that I only a 1 single option to choose from when I look under recording devices. And it is showing disabled devices as well. Any idea's on what im doing wrong and/or what I need? Basically I want to record what only comes out of my speakers & not pic up any backround noise from my mic.
View 5 Replies View Relatedsince a few days my cpu has always cpu load of about 90 % at core 2. Vista is very slow. Taskmanager shows no applications with cpu usage. Now i installed process explorer and i can see that 45% cpu usage (this is 90% of core 2) is for "System / hardware interrupts". Which interrupts are the problem, what can i do to fix this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am just about to purchase a 9800 gtx+ (alt. gts 250). I opened up my case and just noticed this. The sata cables would block the card (10.5 inches long)
If I used 90 degree ones would that clear it all up? Also There is a heatsink right there the gray one. I believe that is the integrated graphics one, I don't use those I am using a video card. So can that heatsink be removed so problems? The circles are representing the heatsink and sata cables. The two lines are how long the gtx+ is. It takes up two pci slots.
I am using Windows Mail but I think my Outlook 2007 is getting in the way. As follows:
1. If I click on an address inside an email to create a new email then despite my being in Windows Masil it pops up as an Outlook email.
2. If I click on address on a website it defaults to my Outlook
3. And some addresses do not appear when I begin to type them despite the fact that they are in Windows Mail address book, I assume because they are duplicatess from my Outlook address book, though I can't find them there.etc etc.
How do I disable Outlook and just stick with Windows Mail (which is not half as good as Outlook Express but alas, with Vista, can now not be used)
When I browse for a printer on the network I can see the workgroup, I can see the PC with the printer, but I don't see the printer show up under the PC in the Add Printer Wizard dialog. This was easy for me back when there were two machines running XP.
I have installed the x86 printer driver on the Vista machine. Would this be easier if I upgraded the Vista machine to Windows 7?
Computer 1 is my home desktop running Vista Premium SP1. It is on the 'workgroup' workgroup. Computer 2 is my work laptop (on docking station) running XP Pro SP2. It is on a domain called 'amer'. There is an HP LaserJet 2100 connected to the Vista machine. It is shared. This is a wired network with D-Link router. At first I thought it was a sharing issue when I could not print from the XP machine to the printer on the Vista machine. But then I realized it is a network issue because if I try to browse the Vista machine from the XP machine I get the 'no access, you may not have permission', etc. message. To make it work, I :
1. start the XP machine (assuming the Vista machine is already running)
2. wait about 15 minutes for the Vista machine to see that the XP machine is there.
3. Browse to and open the XP machine from the Vista machine
4. Go to the XP machine, open its workgroup (amer) and then open the XP machine
5. Wait a minute or so, then while still on the XP machine, navigate to
Vista machine's workgroup ('workgroup') and open the workgroup. If the Vista machine appears I am good to go. I don't need to browse it, it just needs to appear.........................
Can I download programs recorded on a DVR to a laptop with Windows Vista? If so, what is the best type of cable (UBS or firewire or Ethernet) to use?

View 8 Replies View RelatedRecently this unit is not recognising pre-recorded or formatted discs which it previously had recognised. I have a HP laptrop and the drive is a matshita DVD-RAM UJ-850S ATA. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the driver with no success. In one of the forums it is suggested that the 'UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters" in the HKEY registry be deleted but I am not sure about doing this without someone in the know gives it their OK.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIts been about three months since I've given up trying to network my Vista machine with my XP machine, but I thought I would try it again. here are my symptoms again:
*Vista (Ultimate) machine cannot see XP (Home SP2) machine.
*XP machine can see and access the Vista machine.
*Xp machine shows up in the Vista Network Map, but not the Network Folder.
*Both machines can ping each other.
*I can access the XP machine via IP address, I can access the shared folder but not a shared printer.
*IPConfig for Vista shows that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is disabled even though it is enabled in the Network Adaptor Properties dialog. (NetBIOS over TCP/IP always enabled, the middle radio button)
Other information:
*Everything worked as it should once apon a time, then it all went to Hell. It could have been an update, tweaking software, or antivirus setting, but I notcie too late to do anything about it.
*I know it can't be that I don't have the same User/Password on both machines (I tried it anyway but it still didn't work), because it worked awhile back without having the same accounts on both machines.
*I had Bitdefender 2008 on the Vista machine, the Firewall log had entries that the ports 138 and 139 were being refused, despite having the XP machine being on the trusted list (by its IP address). So I uninstalled the Antivirus, but the problem persists.
*The XP machine has Zone Alarm Internet Security.................
Windows Media Center will stop playing recorded tv. It says it is searching for a solution, and then restarts media center. This seems to happen over and over. Running a Toshiba Satellite (nice speakers) under Vista Home Premium SP2. There is a series of audio interviews on the web that I want to record on my HD. Currently, I'm having acceptable results simply playing through the speakers and picking it up through the microphone using Sound Recorder. It's not exactly high fidelity, but I'm dealing with speech, not music. The only problem is that it's vulnerable to any noise in the area, and four to six grandkids can produce that effortlessly.
I asked Geek Squad if I could just jumper the earphones output to the mic input, thereby blocking out external noise. She said it wouldn't work because ... yadda yadda .. powered mic ... yadda yadda ... a lot of extra noise. She confused me further with talk about software that will do this. I tried a free trial of one, but it looked as though it was still depending about the output from speakers and said nothing about gagging grandkids. Is there a way to play audio from a website and record it on my HD without depending on immediate airspace?
anyone knows how to record from the sound card in vista? i remember when i used to run XP i would select "wav" or "stereo" and i wud be able to record whats been played on my computer. now i got vista and a built in mic those options arent showing up. is there any other way to get this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a dell lalptop with windows vista basic. I have used the sound recorder before but the quality is not that great (using the inbuilt mic). So today I brought a microphone headset (cheap one). But I still find a little bit of background noise using the sound recorder. I need this because I do poetry and I am doing some recorded peotry for use as backing for a dvd. Im just looking for the cheapest resonable option. Has anyone got any ideas? I have done a couple of peoms to dvd but the sound lets it down. This is just a project at the moment so I dont wont to spend louds of money on equipment.

For example, if I was playing a WAV file, or listening to a song on the internet, I could record it. Now in Vista it only allows me to record from my microphone. I checked disabled devices and still can not get anything but the microphone to show up. Is there anyway around this besides sticking an audio cable from the headphone jack into my mic input? So far Vista has me aggravated with things I have lost, you would think a newer operating system would allow you more flexibility, not take it from you.

The microphone jack has both, mono & stereo capability. I know that line-in and microhone jacks are not the same, but do not know if Wirdows Audio recorder software (or similar) accounts for this. Can I use the microphone input jack to record stereo signals output from another
device (e.g., a Reel-to-reel tape recoder, cassette palyer, turntable, ...). If so, does Windows provide any documentation regarding the parameters that need to be set. What about recording levels ? Im running DooM3 and Worms 3D on Vista HP 32bit. When I start recording with fraps, it slows down to exactly 3FPS. It does NOT do the same with Crysis however. I didnt try other games yet, but what do U think may be the problem?

I cannot seem to get a signal into AUDACITY, although I han hear an output from the computer's speakers. I have connected the cassette player's headphone output to the computer's LINE-IN jack. I have set the device preferences in AUDACITY and have right-clicked the speaker icon and set the recording device to LINE-IN but still no-go!
