Browser will not resove domain names, but will connect to a URL based on an IP address. Nslookup works, but DNScache is empty (DNScache enabled).No traffic from host to resolve name detected on the modem firewall. Other PCs continue to work as normal.Was adding Service pack 3 for XP when this occurred.No other browser on this PC.

Also, after shutting down the AOL, Windows XP would shut down the parental control program saying that it was malfunctioning. So I decided to delete the parental control program from my hard drive, and I used the uninstall program of the parental control program to uninstall it. After the uninstall, I noticed that I could dial and use the AOL browser as usual, but I could not use Internet Explorer. Any web pages that I tried to visit using IE would not display, and Internet Explorer would say, �This page cannot be displayed.

I dont' know why this so much, nor how to fix the problem. I get the message "can't find server", with Firefox and Internet Explorer. I then have to log off and reboot, which costs me money as I use my computer in my small business. This is very frustrating and I need to know how to fix the problem. I recently moved to an apartment from a house and I'm wondering if that may have something to do with it. maybe all the signals in an apartment setting are crossing or something.

I recently had a problem on my computer where Internet explorer was not working and would'nt open, and no windows based functions that used the explorer interface would work... So i downloaded the IE7 install package on my other computer and burned to disk to install. everything was going along fine, and when prompted to restart to finsih the installation i did so..... that is when "it" hit the fan.

So I did what they said in troubleshooting (use regmon to find a key that says "access denied" So I did that and found that HKCR/mailto is the problem. So I go into the registry and when I click on it I get an a message saying there was an error opening the key. I try change the permissions, and again I get an error message. Then I even try to delete it (I have a copy from another system to install) and again I get an error message. What can I do to fix this problem?
View 14 Replies View Relateddaughter has an "emachine" (I know, but it's too late) with XP. Son opened a "cheats" from Google and now they can't open internet explorer at all. Just gives us the "sorry, we'll send error report." They can right click on the "explorer" icon and open by "run as" but they can't download anything, or open new pages (assuming the other pages are stored). They play a game called Ragnarok(sp??) and that may have something to do with it, not sure. Anyway, I've checked internet connections and she is enabled, I've run Winsock and that doesn't help, even loaded Foxfire browser to bypass, but it won't open either, just gives me the same message. I'm experiencing problems with Internet explorer which cannot open full pages and shows error in script (I think that's what it is). i have recently been working on server 2003 i have created users and groups no problems. i have even created group policies that work and everything i wanted them to do but i have some problems with copies of the profiles that dont work i have checked all the settings i can think of and the working profiles have all the same settings as the none working profiles. the thing is that even the none working profiles do work in part the redirect of folders and mydocuments work. is there anyone out there who can give me some tips as to where i might be going wrong.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have enabled ftp server on my windows 2000 server/ISA Server.Our internet connection is ADSL with US robotics router running. I configured the ISA Server to allow the ftp requests. I tested the connection using web browser as well as cute ftp and I have no problem in connecting by entering static IP Address from web browser and cute ftp.
The objective for ftp server is to share files with our clients. Now the problem is i can connect by entering my static ip address but not the internal domain name of my windows 2000 server which is tecnoserve.dxb. I dont want to give my clients our Static ip address to connect our ftp server.
Okay I have a IBM e-server running Server 2003 SP2 and I rebooted the system after an AVG Server edition update required a reboot. The system booted up fine, My remote offices can connect through terminal services just fine, I can ping websites, I can Ping my ip, dns, etc. But I cannot access the internet from the server through internet explorer. I rebooted the server again and the same problem still persist. I even disabled the web filters in my Linksys RV082 Router. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Could and AVG update caused this?

I'm in the middle of a basic networking lab and one of my VM's crashed. As our host, we use Windows XP. For virtualization we use VMware Workstation. I had a problem installing the Internet Printing Client for my lab. I got an error saying that there wasn't enough hard drive space. I then shut down my VM and added another hard drive. Upon startup I was greeted with: STOP: c0000218 {Registry File Failure} i did this:Removing the virtual HDD I added before the problems started. Restarting the VM. Restarting the host machine. Trying the VM on another machine. Booting to .iso and using the repair console with the command chkdsk C: /r.
My pc is so slow that it takes ages to play a song in wmp11. Ive used tools like ad-aware and registry mechanic, tune up utilities. But still no improvement. It used to be just fine, until I installed some pay-for-viewing add program. I have uninstalled it since then, but the slowness remains. And the processor is hogged, at the highest level, even though i killed many a startup processes.

Now whenever I try to start Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer the windows installer starts and the windows will not open until I have cancelled the installer several times. I scanned the registry with Registry Fix and fixed all problems. It still starts every time. Netscape has no like problem starting.

Then I shut down the system and started to work the next day. Every thing is perfectly ok except for one thing. In Windows Explorer, on any folder or drive if I double click or open I get a crash. If I do explore then there is no problem.
