I am trying to open a new email account at work using ms exchange server but I get an message about the server not being available? connection is offline or not connected to the server!
View 1 RepliesMy daughter is traying to set acces to her job's Exchange Server using Outlook 2002 SP3. But had no success so she asked me to help, but I could not get it to work either. Her OS is Win XP Pro SP2.I go to Control Panel -Mail -Accounts- Email Accounts and click on to set a new account for Microsoft Exchange Server.In that panel I enter the name of the server.server. and her user name it asks to check the name and I click on and it brings up an error message thet it could not connect to the server that no connection could be established and that I need to connect to the internet. I know we are connected since it is a DSL connection she has. Also checked for More Settings but nothing in there indicates that I need additional info for a connection.I also tried to go through the HTTP set up and it to no avail. However if I just open the browser explorer and enter that HTTP address I can connect with no trouble at all to her logon page.

I work for a small Charity, which unfortunately is having some funding problems. This is very bad timing, as we have a backup problem too.I know throwing money at the issue would solve it, but that is not currently an option.
I run my business from home, and after having problems bulk emailing on my NTL Home broadband account, I switched to Business Broadband as they assured me that this would fix the problem. Guess what? Still happening. Whenever I bulk send (and we're only talking c 50 emails here), I get a Symantec message
saying the server was interrupted on each message, and then my outlook crashes so that it can't send or received anything! I have a Netgear router, but it doesn't make a difference I use it or not, and I also use Norton Internet security.
I want to set up another email account for my mother in law on my wife's computer. I have 8 addresses so that is not an issue. I am just wondering if I should set up an additional profile on her Windows XP Home computer or if there is someway to use the same outlook express? I want it to be a clean and easy as possible.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy desktop computer has stopped connecting to the web and to my email account. Last night it worked fine; today nothing. I have checked my settings and everything is OK - IP address, etc. and my modem is configured correctly.I called my ISP techie, and he said the DSL line is functioning and I'm online. My wireless connection is obviously working. The only thing that seems to have changed is the McAfee downloaded a very large update (took about 20 minutes) this morning and installed it; after that I couldn't get on the internet or open email.I hadn't tried either before the loaded though. Could it be related to the download e.g., the installation changed some setting or messed with the registry?

Currently the first time they logon to a machine we just go there and setup an email account, but it would be really helpful if the account would set itself up tied to the user's logon ID.

I'd like to change it to one of my accounts if possible, (I primarily use a university based webmail account), and if I can't change it to anything but hotmail or msn then I would like to remove it.

When I try to join a domain with a XP Pro client to a Windows 2K3 server and after going through Control Panel>System and entering the domain name and my Adminstrator credentials, I get "The following error occured when attempting to join the domain "computerlab.net": The account specified for the service is different from the account specified for other services running in the same process."The Administrator account for both server and client is identical if that affects it all? I seem to be very close to success except for this error message.

The tv, stereo, phone & fax are fine. My computer powers on and the first error message appears: winlogon.exe - unable to locate component. This application has failed to start because sfc_os.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. Next, I try to go into 1 of 3 email accounts. First error message here:

i have recently been working on server 2003 i have created users and groups no problems. i have even created group policies that work and everything i wanted them to do but i have some problems with copies of the profiles that dont work i have checked all the settings i can think of and the working profiles have all the same settings as the none working profiles. the thing is that even the none working profiles do work in part the redirect of folders and mydocuments work. is there anyone out there who can give me some tips as to where i might be going wrong.

Nslookup works, but DNScache is empty (DNScache enabled).No traffic from host to resolve name detected on the modem firewall. When I open Outlook Express {email} I keep getting messages that "Outlook Express has encountered a problem and needs to close".....and it does close when I click on send error report. At times when it does work for awhile, when I click to delete a email, that email won't show as deleted from inbox, but when I then go to the deleted folder it shows up there....checking back at the inbox the email is now gone from the inbox.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAm having a sever problem with 1 users account on XP . It appears to have only afected 1 user account. The problem seams to have occured right after an update to adobe acrobat reader (coincidence maybe). Can not install any new software (error 82 says last file run is main .exe). Can`t update avast,ewido,ad-aware, or spybot from that users account. The other users accounts seams to work fine but find nothin on any of the scans other than AVG it says that the boot record ,system volume, and 3 of the ini files have changed and Ad-aware finds 11 items but when trying to remove them it locks. Hijack this can not be run on the affected user account as it says that it is not a valid picture file. Safe mode under the affected user account (administrator privlages) is no diferent. When trying to run chkdsk from a comand promt in safe mode it says that the system volume is in use by another aplication and have to scedual a scan on the next reboot. This finds nothing aswell. Repair was also tried from the Xp cd to no avail either. All of the online scans (Symantec , Panda soft, Trend Micro....etc) will not run on this account and find nothing on the other accounts.
