I have just installed the Beta version of Kaspersky 2006. I'm experiencing problems with Internet explorer which cannot open full pages and shows error in script (I think that's what it is). It opens the top of the page but not the content or it just indicates that it cannot find the server or the page.
I bought McAfee internet Security Suite 2006 8.0, and trying to download, message comes up, internet explorer script error, an error occured in the script on this page.

So i downloaded the IE7 install package on my other computer and burned to disk to install. everything was going along fine, and when prompted to restart to finsih the installation i did so..... that is when "it" hit the fan.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently 'upgraded' the family computer (running XP pro) with SP2.we've had a number of problems with programs no longer working after the upgrade. More specifically, Internet Explorer, Outlook, Norton, and HP Precisionscan Pro 3.1 (to name a few) are causing us grief.Outlook will load, but as soon as you try and view a new message, the program crashes.Internet Explorer will open, but immediately closes before any page can load. (I've installed Firefox in the meantime, so I'm sure it's not the internet connection).

When I want to close the P C, I do as always: Click Start, Close, Shut Down. But, the P C instead of closing restarts. My Windows XP-SP2 is installed on Portuguese.

I would like to install Internet Explorer 7 beta 2, and it does not work. So I did what they said in troubleshooting (use regmon to find a key that says "access denied" So I did that and found that HKCR/mailto is the problem. So I go into the registry and when I click on it I get an a message saying there was an error opening the key. I try change the permissions, and again I get an error message. Then I even try to delete it (I have a copy from another system to install) and again I get an error message. What can I do to fix this problem?

Nslookup works, but DNScache is empty (DNScache enabled).No traffic from host to resolve name detected on the modem firewall. View 8 Replies View Relateddaughter has an "emachine" (I know, but it's too late) with XP. Son opened a "cheats" from Google and now they can't open internet explorer at all. Just gives us the "sorry, we'll send error report." They can right click on the "explorer" icon and open by "run as" but they can't download anything, or open new pages (assuming the other pages are stored). They play a game called Ragnarok(sp??) and that may have something to do with it, not sure. Anyway, I've checked internet connections and she is enabled, I've run Winsock and that doesn't help, even loaded Foxfire browser to bypass, but it won't open either, just gives me the same message. However problem with that server, means that the admin kit is no longer running.I cannot update kaspersky manually as it says it is controlled by administrator, and there is no update section of the settings, for me to change where the server looks for its updates.Think it maybe something that can be changed in the registry editor, however when i attempt to change the value, i get a 'Error writing the values new contents'The correct permissions have been set, but still not working.

1. Norton Antivirus 2006 crashed.
2. Body Pro would not run.
3. Cannot reinstall Norton Antivirus.
4. Cannot download updates for my Spybot S&D (bad checksum error).
I have a Toshiba sat pro 6000 running XP pro which was pre installed, so no discs.Last night I downloaded an upgrade of kapersky and when it asked me to reboot laptop the following happened.A black screen appeared asking if I wanted to start in safe mode and a list of other options, I chose safe mode and the screen filled up with a long list about multi disks partition , windows driver etc.So I closed down and then chose start windows normally from the black page and it then progressed on to scanning the disc which is does. It reports there are no problems and then opens up the black page again, and again and again.I have pressed F8 and I chose disable auto start up and a blue screen came up telling me of a possible problem and to use recovery cd which I don't have. Can anyone advise on how I can start windows so that I can eliminate kapersky or do a system restore.

I ususally get the desktop down below 2 percent fragmentation in one try, while my laptop rarely get below 4 percent fragmentation. about a fourth of the time it actually ends up more fragmented after running speed disk.

I recently installed Caesar IV and it does not work. I have the required system specs, but out of the 512 RAM on my pc (also the amount needed to run the game) the computer tells me only 265 is free, even when I am not running any programs. How can I free up the required 512? I downloaded and ran a 'free up RAM' program but it made little difference.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just install SP2 the other day and there are a few fixes I need, I've gotten more of the compatitbility issue Number 1 is with Excel. When I open up any workbook it treats the left mouse button as pressed. So when I go to click on any cell is highlights it and tries to select an entire group. The only way for me to close the program is to use the taskmanager or right click the program on my start bar.Number 2 is WMP. Some video files I had don't play sound anymore and I have all the same codecs as before.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi put together a system the other day after my old one totally pooped out on me. i installed the hard drive from my old system into the new one as a second hard drive, and installed xp pro onto a different hard drive (primary master) in the new system.
how can i use all my old programs that are installed on the old hard drive without confusing the heck out of xp? many of the applications on the old hdd are confused when i run them, i am guessing because when they reference files in locations where they think they should be, but they are not finding them. i don't even have enough room on the primary master drive to install all the programs, its a very small drive. nor do i have enough room to fit xp onto the second hard drive.
My pc is so slow that it takes ages to play a song in wmp11. Ive used tools like ad-aware and registry mechanic, tune up utilities. But still no improvement. It used to be just fine, until I installed some pay-for-viewing add program. I have uninstalled it since then, but the slowness remains. And the processor is hogged, at the highest level, even though i killed many a startup processes.

After the update I rebooted XP.When I logged into my account and started using my keyboard the mouse would not move, and the keyboard would stop working. I would even push the caps lock or num lock keys to see if the indicator lights wold turn on/off, No. I have to use the on-screen keyboard to type.

It does same with safe mode.I'm not sure, but I think it is caused by display driver I tryied to install. I got a nVidia 8600GT-m card, and nVidia doesn't provide official driver for it, it must come from the vendor or I need to use modified driver. The driver that came from the vendor didn't support some of the openGL functions and gave error when I tried to run stuff on higher resolution
