Aug 10, 2007Get rid of scvhost.exe because it is really lagging me is it some kind a virus? i tried using regcure would not work and i tried kaspersky pro v7 still.

Unable To Edit Registry Values Of Kaspersky?
Feb 9, 2009I have kaspersky anti virus installed on a windows 2000 server, it used to update from the administration kit. However problem with that server, means that the admin kit is no longer running.I cannot update kaspersky manually as it says it is controlled by administrator, and there is no update section of the settings, for me to change where the server looks for its updates.Think it maybe something that can be changed in the registry editor, however when i attempt to change the value, i get a 'Error writing the values new contents'The correct permissions have been set, but still not working.

May 13, 2006I have a Toshiba sat pro 6000 running XP pro which was pre installed, so no discs.Last night I downloaded an upgrade of kapersky and when it asked me to reboot laptop the following happened.A black screen appeared asking if I wanted to start in safe mode and a list of other options, I chose safe mode and the screen filled up with a long list about multi disks partition , windows driver etc.So I closed down and then chose start windows normally from the black page and it then progressed on to scanning the disc which is does. It reports there are no problems and then opens up the black page again, and again and again.I have pressed F8 and I chose disable auto start up and a blue screen came up telling me of a possible problem and to use recovery cd which I don't have. Can anyone advise on how I can start windows so that I can eliminate kapersky or do a system restore.

I'm experiencing problems with Internet explorer which cannot open full pages and shows error in script (I think that's what it is). It opens the top of the page but not the content or it just indicates that it cannot find the server or the page.

Mar 26, 2007whenever I start windows I get this message. I know that scvhost.exe is a virus, so I deleted it, however, eachtime I start windows this message still appears. It is mostly an annoyance, but it does seem to slow down the startup time due to the fact that windows is looking for the file.

There is no Change/Remove button in Add/Remove Programs but the program is there, 150 MB, and the file suggested on the HP website for uninstalling older printers from XP produces a message that it's "unsupported" can't remember exact verbiage, been a while since last tried. Even reinstalled in the hopes that a message would come up to the effect "this program is already installed, do you want install to remove it prior to completing this install," but it just installs the printer again with a number after it ... I'm up to "hp officejet g series - 3."

Apr 29, 2007Recently I installed "Ulead Video Studio 9" program on my computer. But for some reason it did not install properly, it crashed half way. Clicking on the shortcut on the desktop does not initiate the program. I decided to uninstall the program by going into the Add/Remove folder of Windows XP. But from the Add/Remove folder, I was not able to uninstall the program. Its like 174.5 MB file sitting on my programs folder. Tried to use DOS delete command to delete files. But it looks like will take few months to clear all the files. I was able to delete some files by going into each menu/sub menu etc. It looked like a very tedious process. There are thousands of files for this program. Does anyone know any good program to remove/uninstall this program without damaging other programs?
