I had ad aware 6 on my computer. I intstalled ad aware 7 without uninstalling 6. Ad aware 7 uninstalled it, but it is still on my add/remove programs list. How do I remove it from this list?

When it loaded up I noticed that everything is taking 2x as long to load and it is taking long time to even get the start button list up. I was able to get into the add/remove program list but nothing was there. I waited for about 10 minutes and then nothing still, I don't know any other way to remove McAfee, how to remove McAfee, add/remove program list won't work here.

The actual software doesn't seem to be on the setup cd, but I haven't downloaded it either. Have figured out that its give me slowdowns and wierdnesses and generally making me mad. Clicking on the shortcut on the desktop does not initiate the program. I decided to uninstall the program by going into the Add/Remove folder of Windows XP. But from the Add/Remove folder, I was not able to uninstall the program. Its like 174.5 MB file sitting on my programs folder. Tried to use DOS delete command to delete files. But it looks like will take few months to clear all the files. I was able to delete some files by going into each menu/sub menu etc. It looked like a very tedious process. They wouldn't uninstall using the conventional method so I just deleted the folders and used Registry Medic to clean up the mess.
The only thing left is in the add/remove programs list.
I have gone in the registry and in the 'uninstall section' removed all things 'Nokia' but still they remain.
Just ran my Add/Remove Programs utility from the Control panel, and it said populating please wait.
Half an hour later, the list still has nothing in it !

How can I fix this?
When I go into the add remove programs from the control panel, the list never gets displayed. I get a 'Please wait while the list is populated...", but nothing happens after that. This is on a fresh install on a new PC, with only about 6 programs installed (Photoshop, Photomechanic, etc). Nothing out of the ordinary.
