I have had the Ad Watch bug and get the "create an association in the Folder Options" error message when trying to open a program. Nothing will open and all exe.and lnk. files are missing from Folder Options. When I try to create new exe. files and new lnk files, the "apply" button is not highlighted so it will not save. I can make other changes and the button is there but it still won't save the exe changes

I have the events setup as the subfolders names. I do not like to use Folder Task to set my view settings, and instead of changing the view settings one by one in each of the subfolder, is there a fast way so that I can apply the same folder settings to all my subfolders in "My Pictures/Digital Camera" without changing other folder's view settings?

the desktop icon size - have an 17" monitor and set resolution size to 1152x864 - but now the middle button on top right corner of screen will not not revert back to the double square allowing me to minimize my window - it seems to be stuck in Maximum size so I have to reduce the screen with the cursor, otherwise I loose everything above the Function Bar of File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, etc. I tried lowering the resolution, but that did not seem to work either...also when I click on this middel button between _ and X - it enlarges beyond my screen size and I cannot scroll

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I push the mute button on the keyboard it does not turn off the volume but it does do the red no sound line. I also can't turn the volume up or down from keyboard. When I go to sound control and manually adjust by clicking mute and dragging my volume up and dopwn on master control that does not work either. Theu opnly way I can adjust sound or mute is to manually scroll the wave sound or mute wave sound with my mouse. help-master control sound does not have any master control and neither does the keyboard express volume/mute feature

Actually it flashes up and quits at lightening speed The version which am working is 8x...No add ons is installed in it which can cause this behaviour...I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling it but the effect tends to just the same. At the same time the 'Search' button in the Start Menu does not even load up. View 14 Replies View RelatedThe blue one day I cannot access Internet Options from the tools menu in IE7 on Vista Ultimate. I also cannot open Internet options from the control panel. When I click on it nothing happens. I tried to run Spybot. I tried running IE7 as administrator and it says: This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator. I checked and IE7 has full permissions and no restrictions. I am also logged in as an administrator. I tried sfc /scannow in an elivated command prompt and it said it found errors but couldn't fix them. I also ran system restore and it cannot restore anything no matter what date I choose. Can anyone explain what suddenly happened to my Vista out of the blue? I run the latest Mcafee by the way.

View 3 Replies View RelatedDell xps 400, pentium2.80 ghz dual core, 1 gig ram, win xp media center op sys. Just bought a new microsoft cordless mouse with usb connection for transmitter. With mouse plugged in my monitor will not power down after the amount of minutes I have set in power options nor will it go to screen saver if I choose a screen saver which I did just to test. So, I turned off screen saver and just chose in the power option panel to turn off monitor after five minutes, chose to hibernate never or suspend never. Will not work with mouse plugged in, but will work if I unplug mouse.

I have tried clicking and un-clicking just about every option in the folders options list under "View". I eben click apply changes to all windows, I have clicked and unclicked "Remember each window's view settings".I even unclick the folders button on the tool bar of the window, and close the window, hoping the window will remember I don't want the folder list displayed, still no luck.

View 3 Replies View RelatedA couple of things are driving me insane.When I press F8 regardless of my choice the system will allow me to boot only in normal mode. I.E. If I choose "Safe mode with command prompt" and hit enter, the next screen shows first line "Please select the operating system to start" second line "Windows XP professional" highlighted, third line "Use the up and down key to... Press enter to choose" and at the bottom "For troubleshooting and advanced startup options press F8" and the last line, in highlighted blue "Safe mode with command prompt". I then press enter and after scrolling thru all the lines the system reboots to the F8 boot options.Only "boot in normal mode" gets me out of the loop.

Thankyou for the help.But still have the issue of not being able to change the "FOLDER OPTIONS"/ "VIEW"/ "HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS" selection has both "DO NOT SHOW---" and "SHOW HIDDEN-" selected. If I select either one it will stay only as long as I do not close the Folder Options box. As soon as it is closed it will again default back to both hide and show.I cannot find any threads with this issue except the mention in the one thread about "INFOSTEALER" that I used to get me this far. What did I miss?
