Hardware Drivers :: Huawei E173 Doesn't Allows To Enter In Hibernation Mode
Sep 15, 2014
I am facing a peculiar issues with my Vaio Machine. I use a Huwaei 3G E173 Modem for connecting Internet. I started using this in my new vaio machine too. Whenever I use the hibernate option, it tend to goto the last phase of Hibernation i.e the screen goes off, the fan starts screaming and after a moment it restarts. So, to be succinct, the new windows 8.1 machine doesn't enter in hibernation mode, if I have connected the modem. The modem has a CD Rom emulation for their proprietary software installation, so I thought it would be the cause and hence I tried to change Boot Options in UEFI BIOS to Primary, Secondary and Third as HDD, Network and External device from HDD, CD, Ext. Device.
I have also tried to disable that Power Management settings available in Driver Settings -> Hardware Settings and Un-tick the "Allow this device to Wake the computer"
P.S If I do not connect the computer to Internet with this modem and try to Hibernate it does the Job, when I use the Huwaei Modem only it creates the issue.
But nothing seems work out. Any resolution for this?
When I lock my screen and leave my computer to do tasks while I'm away, the computer goes into hibernation after an hour or so. I tried fiddling with the power options, but no joy. I need to have my computer running while I'm away as I have it doing tasks like rendering video etc. I cannot have it go to sleep!
Using Windows 8 Pro.I have tried all the various permutations to get into safe mode (ms config, start up options etc.).
This is what happens: I use MS Config or one of the other ways (tried them all!) to get into safe mode. The computer seems to be booting into safe mode when I get a blue screen (not BSOD) which pops up and very quickly disappears, and then the computer reboots normally (into Windows 8). The screen says something like 'Windows has encountered a problem and needs to restart'.
My laptop (Latitude E6420) can't enter sleep mode either when I close the lid or select Sleep command from Start menu. It's a new hard drive with clean Windows 8.1 Pro.All latest drivers have been installed (downloaded right from Dell's site)
I tried to run powercfg /energy command as it's suggested on some web-site. It reported about 6 errors. First 5 of them are about USB suspend and the latest is about disabled PCI ASPM.Here you can download full report: [URL] .... Maybe I should re-install some drivers?
My machine won't fully shut down and it won't enter sleep mode without crashing. When I boot back up it gives me an error report and said that it didn't shut down properly. I tried doing a system restore to before this happened and it is still going on. I use a Crucial SSD for my OS, not sure if that could be the issue but I've used it without problems for about a year and half now.
I tried booting up my PC which has Windows 8 installed and it was working fine until yesterday.
It has a "Enter Password" screen upon start-up and I think it's a virus because it only lets me enter 10 characters and even though, I do put in the correct password, it still says it's incorrect. The computer also shuts down after 3 unsuccessful attempts.
I have a DELL Inspiron 15 3521 running Windows 8.1 x64. Whenever I wake up the computer after hibernating my webcam is not working properly. A yellow exclamation mark is shown on the entry "Intel 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1E2D" under USB Controllers in Device Manager.
I have a CM6730 Asus PC with a P8H61-M PRO/CM6630 motherboard.
I was having problems getting good Graphics performance and the topic of Integrated vs discrete GPU came up, the options in the BIOS were set to use iGPU, since then I do not get the option on boot to enter the BIOS.
I have tried ASUS but they want me to send the unit in for repair.
I was initially very excited to hear that windows 8.1 allowed users to split the screen in any ratio they want (not just 80:20) in metro mode. However, no third-party apps seem to be compatible with this feature. Only Microsoft apps will expand to any ratios other than 80% or 20%. All third party apps will remain in the narrow 20% view even when you try to expand them to, say, take up 50% of the screen.
I have an Insipron 17R, core i5 zm2410, NVIDIA Geforce 525m, win8 64bit and I'm experiencing a problem with the hibernation/sleep mode.
About 2 weeks ago my laptop went to hibernation mode after beeing in sleep mode for 2 hours while on battery (to advoid full battery drain).
Now it doesn't do it anymore but stays in sleep mode for the whole time and drains the battery.
I usually detach the power cable from the laptop over night because of the noise from the power adapter and the laptop always hibernated after beeing in sleep mode. I went over the configuration in power options and power plans, and even reseted and configured them again, without success.
The only changes that were made to the system are the important windows updates...
big problem for everyone who uses an SSD for the sytem drive and used audit mode to relocate Users to another drive. Is there a GA iso available yet?n Or a way to burn an iso from what we've downloaded from the MS Store?
This seems like a pretty glaring oversight now that MS is pushing to get rid of optical media. Things fail, often catastrophically (esp Windows).
I have a Samsung SE-218 External DVD drive, and I cannot seem to access it in Windows 8.1 (though I have not had a chance to try it on any other computers yet, so there is always the possibility that something is wrong with the drive). Whenever I plug it in the light comes on and it will spin the disc for a bit, but nothing shows up in File Explorer or in Device Manager.
I've tried the command prompt command noted in this thread with no luck:
ive been having this for ages on my windows 8 acer laptop, randomly my keyboard doesnt work anymore (happend 5months ago) ive been using desktop keyboard since
I primarily use an Easycap to convert VHS tapes to digital video files, but unfortunately, I have my device plugged in, and tried installing a few drivers for it, but none of them worked. I've searched across the Internet for an EasyCap driver for Windows 8, but I couldn't even find one, and have come to the conclusion that Easycap doesn't support Windows 8 yet, unless there was something that I didn't know about.
a friend of mine recently brought me a notebook,Medion AKOYA 99380(s6214t). After booting and using notebook for some time, computer reported a Hard Drive error. It said:"Windows detected a hard disk problem. Back up your files immediately to prevent information loss, and then contact computer manufacturer to determine if you need to repair or replace the disk."
The HDD is pretty new and it didn't seem to have any hardware issues. However,I did a clean instal of Windows 8.1 on the notebook(normally I installed Windows on the 64GB SD Card located in the "tablet" part of the notebook,so that way a person using it can use it as a tablet, too). Everything seemed to work fine, no HDD errors from Windows etc.,but then I opened My Computer and second Hard Drive wasn't there.I thought that it's a Drive Letter problem so I went into Disk Management however it did not solve the issue.
Then I tried everything(re-formatting,changing from NTFS to other formats etc.) but it did not seem to work. But all of sudden, after doing something, I don't really remember what I did that made the Computer see it, but it finally worked,so I just started testing everything. And after I used it as a tablet only for a while,I plugged that part in the notebook again and then Windows gave me an option to Update and Restart. I was a bit afraid of how it will turn out,so I wanted to shut down and turn on for a couple of times before updating, just to see if it will cause any issues. When I was sure that it worked perfect before the update, I clicked the option to update.
After the update was finished,Windows ran extremely slow and it detected my second HDD, however not the way it should. It only said "Local Disk (D: ) but I could not access and it didn't show how much memory on it was used. I re-assigned a letter to it after a format, but it did not work. Then I shut down the notebook, pull the second hard drive out, connect it to computer with usb so windows sees it as an external hard drive, and bam, everything worked. I don't think that the HDD is the problem, nor the SATA connectors,it's most likely that the motherboards driver need an update. However, when I checked for it's name,it said "Medion AKOYA s6124t". I tried all the downloads from Medion's page, but no succes in finding a proper driver.
I have a Pavilion G6-2357sa Notebook and I wanted to upgrade the sound drivers but I went on the HP website and I found out that HP doesnt support my drivers. How do I upgrade my audio drivers if isnt supported on the HP website?
I'm using Win 8 on my laptop Lenovo G580. I have some problems with it. When I restart my laptop it takes too much time to restart and sometimes all USB ports doesn't work properly, means it shows Modem, USB Mouse, Pen drive connected but doesn't work. Here is the link of Dump file on Skydrive..
I have run into a problem with my Windows 8 computer once in a while, it's that my PC doesn't recognize USB ported devices as supposed to, but it does recognize things such as a wireless mouse and keyboard. Now, my question is, can I buy a wired Xbox 360 controller and connect it to my computer, and trust it to download the drivers correctly, and work like it's supposed to? I have got a new game, and really want the controller to work for it.
When I update Windows graphics drivers, Windows (Windows 8.1) does not save the desktop icons where I keep them, and I have to put them back where I like them,, snapshot attached.. a long time ago I had to use a separate utility to save icon positions.. I have been using desktop icons for many, many years..
How do I tell windows not to lose the icon positions when I upgrade drivers.. btw, I use Nvidia x64
When I do the graphics driver upgrades, al the desktop icons just go into the right side in a scattered order. and I have to put them back like my snapshot shows how I like them
My Toshiba laptop does not let any of the function keys operate properly. When I press one, nothing happens. I have also tried holding down the FN key, to no avail. I thought this was a Toshiba issue, but after multiple customer support "experiences" who told me that the operating system was corrupted, I think it may be a Windows 8.1 issue. This happened under Windows 8 too. Toshiba has a keyboard driver for this laptop model for Windows 7, but not 8.1. Is this a common problem with Windows 8.1 (All drivers are up to date and function key support is enabled in the BIOS)
I reinstalled my 8.1 pro (legal copy, disk been fully formatted) and it was okay for few hours. Next time im starting the laptop, my keyboard and touchpad doesnt work. I plugged USB mouse and keyboard and it works just fine. I went to device manager and besides Standart PS/2 keyboard and mouse icons there was orange triangle meaning that i have problem with drivers. I searched drivers online, but unsuccsessily.. After few hours of trying to fix it, my Standart PS/2 Keyboard turned into Unknown device and now im completely lost. Adding photo of device manager
My PC with Windows 8 Pro doesn't read any kind of discs. I first tried a movie then it reads, a little disc appears on the cursor which means that the disc is being read. But all of a sudden, it fails at the end and doesn't read the disc. Even a bootable disc, it just stays black with a blinking line then it fails to read it as well. No errors or messages, it just proceeds to the Windows 8 loading screen.
i installed win7 on my SSD (like 22gb drive) in my asus today. Now, under my computer, it shows nothing but the SSD. it doesn't show my 500gb hard drive.. Im pretty sure its because of something i didnt do in the setup. What should i do to get it to show up? i really really really don't wanna re install windows because i got all the drivers and installed programs..
I am running Win 8.1 Pro x64. Today I noticed that the "Eject" option from the right-click menu doesn't work for either of my 2 CD-Rom drives, nor for a "virtual" drive - I get the same error message on all 3: "An error occured while ejecting [drive]".
Device Manager shows no errors, and I've tried uninstalling the drives and rebooting, but error persists.
Also, to be clear, it is NOT a physical problem with the drives, as I can open them without a problem through the buttons on the front.
Finally, if for some reason I can't fix this issue, any way to at least just DELETE the "Eject" from the context menu?
i have recently bought an SSD. I have heard from a youtube video that changing the Sata controller from IDE to AHCI can give me better performance but i tried to enable this and it doesn't recognize the drive. The PC will not boot in AHCI mode which meant i have to switch to IDE again. I have tried booting from the Windows install DVD but it tells me that i cannot install Windows on this drive. Am i missing something?
My TV tuner gets full signal when working with the battery while it gets null signal when plugged in to the AC socket whenever the battery is in. The matter is related I think to the battery saving profile. I have an ASUS K75V with i7 - 36300QM, 2.4GHz. OS Windows 8. I tried to set the setting of the active profile equal for "on battery" and "plugged in", copying the settings of the first to the second naturally. It still doesn't work. It seems that is not configurable.
Passing from working (on battery): Process C:Program FilesASUSP4GBatteryLife.exe (process ID:2560) reset policy scheme from {512a6ac6-efc1-4441-85c9-cccf29b69cd2} to {df011ed9-9131-49b9-8090-46963cfb65ce}
To not working (plugged in): Process C:Program FilesASUSP4GBatteryLife.exe (process ID:2560) reset policy scheme from {df011ed9-9131-49b9-8090-46963cfb65ce} to {512a6ac6-efc1-4441-85c9-cccf29b69cd2}
That is, I can allocate it one through drive management but it still doesn't show next switch on in My Computer, so I must go in an allocate it one. Otherwise it works fine. Bit tedious after a while.
Do I have to reformat it completely to regain auto allocation of a letter?
Used to be fine, but not now. A USB 3.0 Toshiba 500 gig external drive (sealed unit) doesn't have this problem.
I'm using windows 8 pro which I upgraded from windows 7 home premium in january. After the upgrade, my e key stopped working. After another few months, more keys stopped working and now, no keys are working. What do I do?
