For some unknown reasons, whenever I tried to install the Wi-fi driver on my laptop, after proceeding setup file agreements nothing happens.
My laptop is compaq 610 and I've tried installing latest drivers downloaded from softpedia.
In the device manager, I got the exclamation mark for wi-fi driver. In properties window, this is showing that device can not start.
My wifi on my laptop keeps acting up. at a random time the wifi bar in the lower right hand side turns to a yellow exclamation mark over it, after hovering over it it says 'limited'. Usually if i just turn off the wifi then immediately on again it will sort it out.
Can't work out if its a driver issue, my isp or a windows 8.1 issue. The laptop i have is an assus k53sv. the driver i have installed is 'Qualcomm Atheros AR9002WB-1NG'.
After I upgraded my windows 7 to windows 8 pro I had this problem . There are four devices that have a yellow exclamation mark showing in the Device manager.
They are WAN Miniport (IKEv2 / L2TP/PPTP/SSTP)
All of them show this error: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)
I don not know what these devices do or how to fix it .. I have also problem in Merto apps they cannot connect to the internet even though I can browse and download .. I do not know if those WAN Miniport devices cause this problem.
OK, it seems like I'm part of the vast conspiracy to not have 8.1 connect to the internet. Here is what's going on;
Wifi indicator shows "!" and reads "limited".
When I open the browser and click to diagnose the issue it runs through and ends with a message saying the default gateway has been fixed. About every fifth time it'll give me "The connection between your access point, router, or cable modem and the internet is broken." This computer works fine when plugged directly into the Ethernet cable from the router. Every other device on the router (other pc, xbox) work fine.
- Brand new Toshiba E55-A5114 with 8.1
- Performed all Windows updates, driver updates, then Toshiba updates
- I have power cycled both router then modem, and modem then router
- I have updated the driver for my network adapter Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless AC 7260
- I have disabled/enabled, uninstalled/installed the driver thru the Device Manager
- In CMD I have flushdns, netsh winsock reset
- Made sure the power management box is unchecked

recently, i just changed my laptop's OS to Windows 8 from Vista. My laptop is Compaq Presario F700 and it was originally Vista. But somehow, my laptop cannot access WiFi anymore so right now im using our PC. Also, when i go to PC Settings-->Wireless it says that "No wireless devices are available". I tried downloading a wireless LAN driver in this site: [Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver for Microsoft Windows 8 | HP Support] since Compaq is also from the Hewlett-Packard Company(hp).but after installing it, nothing changed. what should i do?

I use a Notebook "Compaq Presario CQ57", How can I find drivers that will work for it? (most especially the WiFi driver from previous installation of windows 7 did not work for it). I have checked Driverpack Solution website, my PC was not listed among their list of PCs.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI work at a hotel, and we are having issues with our public computer (Acer Aspire XC-603G desktop) connecting to the internet. As it seemed like an issue in the wall, I decided the easiest way to fix it would be to buy a wifi USB adapter (NETGEAR N300) and just use that instead. However, when I try to install the driver from the included CD, it keeps giving me an "access is denied" error.
The account I'm using says it has administrator privileges, though that's been giving me issues as well. The person who initially set up the computer only set up one account, which anyone could use. I added another, gave it the administrator rights, and removed them from the original. However, even though it says the new account is an administrator account, messages often pop up and say that I can't do what I'm trying to do because I only have standard privileges.
I cannot get the scanning component of my new printer to work. The "scanner" appears in device manager but has an error (yellow exclamation), it seems that the installation of the scanner network driver fails every time I try to install it. The printer prints fine just will not scan. I have it wirelessly installed and am using Windows 8.1 currently.
How to get it works as I am totally out of ideas after numerous uninstall and reinstalls.
Lenovo IdeaPad Y480 (Model 2093), Windows 8.1, everything is updated. I was having some WiFi issues which were solved by updating the WiFi driver, now it's giving me the BSOD "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (NETIO.SYS)" whenever I have uTorrent running.

The issue was caused by NetWorx, which I was using to monitor my bandwidth. Uninstalled and no more BSOD.
I have a hp pavilion dv6-6150us ,,i was on youtube and suddenly the sound stopped working ,,no sound coming out from the laptop speakers ,, my on-board sound card is IDT ,,i downloaded the correct driver fro hp site ,,but it wont install ,, showing an error that the hardware detected is not supported by IDT software,, the sound only works when i connect my laptop to a tv using a hdmi cable ,, there is an "X" mark on my sound icon ,,i tired everything from uninstall ,remove ,re-install the audio drive ,, i think the problem is that its only detect the graphic card hdmi as a playback audio device ,,and the onboard sound card is somehow disabled ,,i cant find the enable option on my bios setup !!

I just updated my Compaq Presario CQ56 Laptop.
It boots to the login screen. I enter my password and the screen goes black with just the mouse cursor on the screen. That is it nothing else happens. CTRL-ALT-DEL does not work. When the mouse goes away and I move it the cursor comes back.
i have just purchased a new Compaq laptop, Notebook G as i'm aware of the title but unsure, though with the initial setup of the laptop it asks a few questions ie: name, location and login details for Windows, though i get an error message stating that "Windows 8 could not be installed on this device, please try again" or something of the sort.
after a few attempts i have given up.
it appears that it is faulty, though, it is difficult for me to get into a store and request an exchange, is this common?
I am running a Compaq CQ58 with windows 8.1
A week ago, i turned on my laptop and discovered that my sound wasnt working. I cheaked the sound menu, it told my that the speakers were not plugged in. I looked in the recording menu which told me my build in mic was not plugged in.
I was able to have sound by plugging my laptop into my tv with a HDMI lead.
I got fed up with a slow laptop and no sound so i decided to reset my laptop, when the reset was finished my mic and speakers worked. I turned it off and when i woke up i turned it back on to find my mic and speaker was "not plugged in". All my drivers are up to date and i have no updates to do.
ASUS X55C notebook I had windows 8.1 installed and my comp stop reading blue rays, so I called tech support. they told me to mail it in. they change my HDD cause a bad sector and installed normal windows 8 but changed my dvd/cd rom drive to matshita dvd ram. I use to have matshita dvd ram UJ8A0AS and it did play blue rays. now i'm calling back and they are trying to tell me that my model doesn't play BR's. that's the reason why I bought my computer. their call center verified all that. so can I add that driver to my device manager.

I've just set up a clean system installation (Win 8.1 PRo x64). As a part of it I obviously installed my printer driver. The printer is Lexmark E260d and I use Lexmark Universal Driver downloaded directly from Lexmark's webpage.
My surprise is that after installation I have two such printers available at my system:
- "Lexmark E260" - which is the name I gave during installation,
- "Lexmark International Lexmark E260d" - which is another device appearing as a printer.
Both drivers / devices (?) print correctly yet I can see some differences in their functionality descriptions, when choosing Properties / Hardware. Lexmark E260 device has there "Print queues" only while Lexmark International... device has three types "Printers", "Print queues" and "Universal Serial Bus controllers". Another thing is when I double click on devices icons in "Devices and Printers" window - Lexmark E260 brings well-known list of documents actually being printed and Lexmark International... brings printer configuration dialog allowing to see printing documents, customize printer setting and so on.
Why I have somehow two different printers appearing on my system? Should I remove one of them and which? How can I avoid duplicating devices when installing drivers?
How to get their ATI/AMD TV tuner to work? I've tried to install Windows 7 and the Vista drivers, however I was unsuccessful.

And both the webcams stopped working. I tried installing driver software from the driver-DVD of my laptop but it also didnt fix it.
The webcam cannot be used by other softwares like skype.
Last night two updates from MS, KB2919355 & KB2961887 were installed. Today the driver for my Epson R3000 printer was gone. Windows 8/8.1 seems to have a problem with this printer, even though Epson claims it is compatible and provides updated drivers. When I updated from Windows 8 to 8.1, it replaced my Epson drivers is a very basic MS generic driver. I had to manually install the Epson drivers again. That was a pain, and took several attempts. Is there a recommended way to install a driver that works?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed Windows 8.1 a few days ago and now I am having problem installing and updating driver software for any hardware. I tried downloading drivers with Windows update which gives error code 8007000d while installing after successfull download while other software updates install fine. Using device manager, it gives a error that windows found the driver but had problem installing it.
And finally, I tried to install it directly using executable but couldn't install. For instance, I tried to install AMD Catalyst software and everything in it installed except the drivers, catalyst control center, hydravision and every application software installed but just not the driver software. I also had problem with bluetooth software. All drivers installed fine when I installed the windows 8.1 but after few days, this problem began and now I am not able to install any of it. P.S. I tried all the measures to solve error 8007000d I found at the internet.
I was installing the AMD beta driver and suddenly, black screen. It somehow restarted and I logged in, but I saw a black screen and after a few seconds, I was thrown back to the login screen. It was the same in safe mode! is there any way to uninstall the driver without a complete wipe? I don't want to start from the beginning again ...

this morning I was playing FIFA 13, charger not plugged in and I noticed there is a performance difference between plugged in and not plugged in. The game was laggy a bit. Then suddenly, my game crash with a black screen first then a pop up yellow exclamation mark warning appears, something about :

I was updating my drivers, and had wanted to update my Synaptics driver. I had removed the older version of Synaptics driver (because I was required to) and wanted to restart. My computer restarts, and I try to install the latest version of the Synaptics driver, it doesn't work. It says "install failed." I have tried multiple times.
