Computer Clock Keeps Resetting Back To Earlier Date
Dec 13, 2012my OS is Windows 7 64-bit. Lately, whenever I start my laptop, the computer clock at the bottom right hand side keep resetting back to 10th January 2008. Also if I do an immediate restart, this problem does not occur. I have to then manually change the computer clock.

Jul 14, 2012As of last night when I click on Internet Explorer none of my Home Page Tabs show up anymore,well they do but it says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" I have two bars so I don't understand whats going on. If I type in another webpage in the search engine it then takes me to the webpage but then I wind up getting kicked of once again. HELP !!! This all started when I clicked on the tool bar in the top right corner,went down to Internet options,clicked on the Advanced Tab,then clicked reset Internet Explorer settings. Apparently the option restore point creation function in the protection section of W-7 has been turned off since 06/2012, since that is the latest date listed under the system restore listing. Jun 22, 2011i had windows 7 beta version installed on my C: drive earlier later i installed the full version on drive f: as the windows on C: got corrupted....but now i want to format the drive C:i was able to delete the files like windows program files, etc by taking the ownership from trustedInstaller and blah blah ...but when i try to take the ownership of the drive C...it is unsuccessful.i tried formatting using cmd etc etc all.it is of no use my DVD drive is defective too so i cant boot from a cd like in xp setup and delete the files + on trying to boot from USB..it seems my PC gets hung so what shall i do now? any help would be appriciated ... it is using almost 5 GB of my space ( i guess the space is what OS installs itself into) ....this 5 gb can be put into much useful processes.

Nov 7, 2012The problem I am having is that whenever I log onto my computer, I can see that the date and time at the bottom right of the screen always seems to reset to 31/12/2006. I always try to fix this by going to the option where you can synchronise the date and time with the Windows server time, however, this doesn't always seem to work.Another problem I am encountering is that the computer itself seems to be cutting out at different times, for example I could be 98% complete into a full system scan with Kaspersky 2012, but the computer suddenly cuts out, this would also be the case when browsing the internet or completing some Word documents. One other thing to mention as well is that since these problems have occurred, whenever I turn on my computer, I never have to press the power button on, as it seems to turn itself on whenever I switch the power supply on. This is also not normal.

But it has been going for around an hour and a half and is stuck on the initializing stage for ages. Just wondering how long it should take, getting slightly worried? After a week, it started crashing a lot, to the point where I couldn't get past the log on screen without it crashing. I wanted to uninstall Windows 8, but I found out that you can't. I decided to just restore my computer to its factory settings. I backed up all my files on 5 Verbatim DVD+R. Now I am using Windows 7 again. I installed the old disc drive from my failing old computer as a slave drive, which I was using XP on a 32bit system expecting it was going to be easy to retieve all my data files. What a mistake that is turning out to be !!! Does anyone out there know how I can do this ? The files where password protected is this causing the problem? I guess I have the option of taking the drive out and re-installing it in the old system and then try to download the data into something useable for the new system.

Feb 16, 20131st off, My user name is not a joke. I have a hp G72-B27CL Notebook that was purchased online from aGoodwill auction. The notebook looks brand new & in their listing for the auction they said it just needed a hard drive so I put my WD 500 GB hd in it & attempted to do a system recovery. It went through the whole process & ended with Welcome TO YOUR NEW HP COMPUTER, About a minute later it was showing Restoration Incomplete with the options to Retry or try to find out what the problem was, Well it would only allow me to try again, Which I did (actually 2 more times) Of course same results. Their is no recovery CD'S that came with the computer, However it does have the windows product key # on the back of it. This computer will not let me do anything else except keep trying to recover it. (Which is a total waste of time) Should I erase everything on that hard drive ? It really has nothing I care if I lose or not & how would I go about erasing the hard drive ? The computer I'm talking about wont let me do anything except what I have shared.
And I don't want to put the hard drive in another computer & mess up what ever computer I put it in. This really is a bummer because I felt I was getting a good deal + helping out a organization, So the bottom line is right now I have a pretty laptop that doesn't operate & I am currently down $232.00 + shipping cost. I truly apologize for the length of this post, But as I stated from the start I'm truly lost.
