However, this message appears: "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now." The problem is that I cannot find the Intel 5 Series 4 Port SATA AHCI Controller drivers for Windows 7 64-Bit to put on a floppy or USB drive. I've combed the Sony website and Google and the only Intel 5 Series 4 Port SATA AHCI Controller Drivers that can be placed on a floppy or USB are for Windows XP. Without the TXTSETUP.OEM, I'm dead in the water! The 64-Bit drivers (INDOTH-00215023-0042.EXE) are for an already installed Windows 7. BTW guys, the the BIOS settings on this laptop is as anemic as it gets, so there is really no way to optimize there..

View 2 Replies View Relatedi am connecting a samsung galaxy S phone to a desktop with windows 7. when it appears on the "my computer" window, it shows up as a drive.....which is fine but i need to know if it would also be considered a com port (i.e. com 1, 2,3, ect). if so, how do i find out whether it is on a com port or not? i assuming that it does consume a com port but i don't see it in "device manager" or anywhere else. the program i'm trying to work with looks for com ports, so for me to continue, i'm trying to make the phone appear on a com port.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter my computer stopped being able to print to my printer wirelessly (the printer isn't a wireless printer, but is wired to a wireless print server), I deleted the printer and tried to reinstall via the Add Printer Wizard. The printer wizard sees the printer on the network, but when I select it to install, it can't find the TCP/IP port and installation fails. How can this be?
I *can* print from this computer to the printer when connected directly via USB, and other computers can print to that printer wirelessly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis all started when one day my G930 Logitech headset started becoming a pain in the ass to use. I had the charging dock plugged into one of the two USB ports behind my HP ZR30w monitor.Then after a few days I began to get a USB Device Not Recognized Error constantly. Like you hear the Windows Pinging sound when you connect and disconnect a USB device all the time. Its like spamming me with the sound. I tracked it down to this USB port, Port_#0001.Hub_#0011 (which is the USB port behind my monitor HP ZR30w, it is the inner most USB on the back.I ran virus scans, spyware scans and nothing shows up, I had to rule out any fishy stuff. I have no idea how to get this error to stop showing up...it literally spams me with the error and sound when nothing is plugged in to that port...as I am typing this its yelling at me.The catch is though, this is when the USB port is empty...nothing is plugged into it...it is like a phantom USB port that is just going haywire...Now if I plug a device in to it...the device works fine and the USB Device error does not show up, but for instance in this case, my G930 headset ends up disconnecting and reconnecting and throwing me errors...Is this a bad USB port? I am running Windows 7 64bit. I tried disabling the USB port all together but it still shows that a device is attempting to connect to that port and is not being recognized.Also I have updated all my drivers, updated my motherboard, the only thing i have not done is reinstall USB controllers but i do not know how to do that. In the process of finding the problematic USB port I ended up mapping all the USB ports and their numbers so how I found out which USB port it was, was due to trial and error and finding it was the one behind my monitor.

2- I tried channels 0..5 , should I try any other number? The solution says that the channel in device manager it is not always the correct one. Under device manager , general tab it displays "Location 0 (Channel 1, Target 0, Lun 0)"
I've been working on the administrator account for more than 2 years, left it as it was yesterday. When I came back my account was assigned with guest authorization instead of administrator's. While I was working on my administrator account I disabled Super Administrator account and therefore now I am unable to log into it. My little brother account is just another guest account. So as far as I know there are two guests accounts somehow, 0 administrator accounts, and 1 super administrator account which is disabled. How can I restore my account to its previous settings? (If I try to do anything which requires administrator's level authorization it asks for password but it never works, which means that it has been changed or i do not know where can I type it in).

I got the "bootdevice" message. After talking with my friend I found and replaced the wire. I tried doing a "repair" using F8 but no luck. I can however use the option to "start my computer using the last known etc." Everything works fine, but when I shut the machine off I get the "can't find bootdevice" again when I restart. What do I have to change in my bios settings to make the machine boot normally?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Issue when I go into the device manager of my Windows 7 64 bit desktop pc it says: "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) There is no driver selected for the device information set or element. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver. This is for the pci input device."
I tried updating the drivers and it says windows could not find the drivers for this device if you know the manufacturer go to there website. I tried searching for the drivers manually through the list that windows gives you but said it couldn't find them either. I have a Creative audigy 2 sound card and when I go to update the driver from the audigy 2 it says that it can't find drivers even though they are installed and the sound card is working.
Nothing indicates that they are installed except for the fact that it does show a driver date and version. I have the latest drivers. From 3 something 2012 I tried updating the drivers from creatives website but it said no hardware device could be detected on my system. Should I maybe reinstall the card? Just put it back into the same slot on my motherboard?
I have a PC I assembled last June. After I loaded it up with my applications and connected my devices I began getting device disconnect sounds as well as a few device connect sounds. I've been troubleshooting by disconnecting all devices then adding devices back one at a time to try to find the culprit. I'm not getting consistent or convincing results so far, but will keep working on that approach.
A Web search on the subject returns lots of results where users are experiencing these sounds. Answers are sparse. And antagonizing! I have not found any hints as to how to extract from the system what is actually happening. What I am looking for is if anybody knows where in the system I can find a log that records device connect/disconnect events associated with these sounds.

I have to into the computer management --> Disk management section and manually assign it a drive letter. Occasionally however when it is inserted, windows assigns it a drive letter just fine. I do not understand it, i have set my network to static IP, not receive from DHCP server from my router. I have confirmed that by "ipconfig /all"
I have "ping localhost" with no 4 replies and have "ping 192.168.0.11" which is my computer. I did not received all 4 replies either.
I have ping to my router (DHCP Server) and it works OK.
Is it possible something wrong with my Ethernet hardware or just Ethernet driver problem?
Possible cause: TCP/IP Stack or my Ethernet is corrupt. What I can do about it?
I have been using my computer to connect my xbox 360 to the internet all has been well until now. Just recently I started having some connection issues. So trying to resolve I removed my wifi adapter drivers and reinstalled them, I ran the troubleshoot part of windows network on the adapter and lan connections. Somehow a new wifi connection appeared in my network and sharing center (mini port wifi) and now when I try to enable ICS it tells me that the ip address for automatic ip addressing is already assigned in a error message.
And it will not allow me to share my internet connection. I have tried to bridge the connection to the local area connection and the computer acts as if it did it correctly but when I try to connect my xbox it will not work and on the xbox dashboard it does not show my connection being good to the network. I have even already replaced all wiring involved with this setup thinking it may be a bad ethernet cable to no resolve. This setup worked for months so I see no reason why it would not work now.

DVD Tray opens and light comes on but does not play DVD. 1st USB port on left side gets - USB Device Not Recognized.One under it works and one on the right side works.OS Windows7 Ultimate.
