I have a Windows 7 Professional 32 bit operating system, which is joined to a domain at my workplace. If i open Eindows Explorer and open a network drive ( I: ), then the Windows Explorer open's it, but after a few seconds later, it jumps back to the main page. It is very annoying. I have 11 network drives, but only on two networks drives occurs this problem.

I load firefox, same issue. I load Crome, it worked for 1 day then same issue. It used to login in fine last week. It logs in fine on my 2 other PCs and my Kindlefire.I have checked for viruses with Avast and A-Malware Bytes in safe mode - nothing. These 2 pick up 98% of stuff. Personally I dont think its a virusn IE9 - Deleted browsing history, cookies, temp internet files, everything under the Geneeral/Browsing History section. Did a disk cleanup, put the site inthe trusted zone, turned off popup blocker just in case, Cleared SSL state, Reset IE9. Zippo
View 1 Replies View RelatedLast yeat I was able to get WLM working just fine in Windows 7 (with a bit of help here) What I ended up with was a Windows Live Mail Page holding three accounts including Gmail. I acess Hotmail from a seperate Icon on the destop. All is good.I am trying to mirror this in Vista home.The Hotmail account came right up as I signed in with my Live user/password. What I am having trouble with is setting up the second page holding my three main accounts.I tried getting in by using Sign In, but it reverts back to the hotmail page.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI connected my HP Pavilion dv4-2165dx to my TV via the HDMI slot, and worked perfectly. I disconnected the cable from the notebook when I was done and still got the main LCD display to work. When I restarted the system, the LCD display was gone, just a blank screen with a backlight. The system is booting correctly, I can hear the windows7 startup sounds and even type my password in and access my account. So far I know that:
1. The screen hardware is not damaged, because after some reboots and taking the battery off for an hour I could get the input back with no problem (with windows complaining about being unable to boot and suggesting me to run Startup repair), but got a black screen again after rebooting again.
2. I can connect the HDMI again and get the output on the TV screen, but no main display is detected. If I toggle between displays with fn+f4, only the external HDMI-TV display works.
3. I get no startup screen either. That is, not even the first screen from where I can access the BIOS. But if I connect the HDMI-TV from the beginning I get all that info on the TV.
4. I reinstalled the Graphics driver from HP with no change.
My guess is that somewhat I messed up the default configuration and that the system is only recognizing the external displays as default displays. I haven't been able to modify this from the Control Panel - Display Settings menu, and I don't know where in the registry this default startup options could be.
I just got an Acer laptop. Sometimes, for no reason I understand, the browser will suddenly go back a page. I am using Firefox. I have not had this happen on any other system with Firefox. Is it something with the mouse on the laptop?

I have a 120gb ssd primary and a 3TB mechanical split into 2 partitions 1 500gb for apps and the rest is storage. I want to reformat my Windows installtion drive. But what i'm curious about is how is this going to effect the apps i have installed on the mechanical drive. Will this cause issues with windows references not running the apps properly.

I then later un-shared them by unclicking the tab but all the computers could see the drives that had been previously shared from my main computer. They could even access them even though they had been unshared. I then later reinstalled windows7 on my main computer but the drives are still visible and accessable from computers on my network.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy former hard drive with my MBR on it failed. This hard drive was/is 750GB and when I purchased my 'main' 2TB hard drive I made another fresh install of Windows. In other words, I had two installations of Windows on two separate hard drives. However, the MBR is located on the now-failed 750GB hard drive, and so my 2TB install of Windows won't work. I have tried (and failed) at repairing or otherwise installing a new MBR on the 2TB hard drive.

Every time I delete one folder, windows 7 jumps me back to the parent folder, so I have to scroll down again to where I left off. Very inefficient. In XP, the next folder in the list is highlighted after deleting one. I have a home network with 2 laptops and 1 desktop. The desktop I use as a "file server" in that all work done on the laptops is stored to the desktop. The desktop computer name is HAL. One laptop is fine and sees the network. The other just stopped seeing it; rebooted the laptop; rebooted HAL; did a number of refreshes without any luck. I opened EXCEL and found a worksheet that was listed that I knew was saved on HAL. Was able to open the file and when I tried the SAVE AS I could navigate through all of HAL just as normal. Went to Windows Explorer and still no HAL listed as a COMPUTER on the NETWORK. I have a internet connection so I know I am making it to the router at least. And when I check NETWORK AND SHARING CENTER it shows an active home network. The laptop is running Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 Build 7601.
I recently re-installed Windows 7 from some rescue disks, and everything, with the exception of Internet Explorer is now running fine! Basically whenever I load a web page in IE it crashes after a short time (5 - 10 seconds), and I then have to exit with CTRL + SHIFT + ESC (Task Manager)! Inside task manager I actually have to terminate the IE processes, as IE won't exit if I attempt to shut down through the Applications tab.
Initially IE8 was installed from the rescue disks, and I have since upgraded to IE9, but both versions are behaving just as badly as each other.
I have even tried to start IE in "No-Add Ons" mode from the "Accessories" menu - however after a short time it still crashes. Now I have no add ons enabled, I have deleted everything (in IE history), scanned for viruses (there are none), and I am wondering if there is some way of repairing IE?
P.S.: I have installed other browsers, but I actually need IE for running some Microsoft Online Services, all other browsers are only supported in "lite" mode!!!

- Use System Restore
The problem remains unsolved. Everything else runs fast and perfectly on my computer, included Mozilla Firefox. However I don't like when something doesn't run very well.
