Windows 7 Explorer Jumps Back To Parent?
Jul 3, 2011I am trying to selectively delete a number of subfolders, working in Windows Explorer. Every time I delete one folder, windows 7 jumps me back to the parent folder, so I have to scroll down again to where I left off. Very inefficient. In XP, the next folder in the list is highlighted after deleting one. I know Windows 7 is not XP, but this seems to be another unnecessary annoyance with file management, added to my growing list of file management annoyances.I suppose MS found some good reasons to make file management so cumbersome, or I am not yet with the program, or there is something I can do to make this better, and I haven't yet found itIs there something I can do to avoid this? Is there some other view of Windows Explorer I can use?

If i open Eindows Explorer and open a network drive ( I: ), then the Windows Explorer open's it, but after a few seconds later, it jumps back to the main page. It is very annoying. I have 11 network drives, but only on two networks drives occurs this problem.

Mar 5, 2010how to make W7 explorer display the file tree the same way that XP did? The W7 way is a total mishmash, IMHO. I can't understand the directory structure. The indentation on the display is very slight and hard to see so that it is very hard to tell where a subdirectory starts and ends. It takes a long time to fill in the file structure so that after several seconds, even minutes, the display is still jumping around. There are a lot of things that I like about W7 but this is NOT one of them. I use windows explorer a lot.

Back Up With Windows 7 X 64
Jul 1, 2011I have read pitting imaging against registry backup which are clouding my choice.
1-Erunt requires that you turn UAC off for ERUNT and not to use it automatically. ERUNT has not been updated since 2005.
2-System restore and Norton = must Norton turn tamper protection off to restore.
3-system restore = do not use safe mode(good back up) but you cannot restore afterwards.
I have 2 questions, assuming the above is true;
1= does registry backup cause more trouble than imaging.
2-Acronis and Macrium are good but is Win 7 back up restore as reliable with 64 bit? It is limited but I am concerned about the reliability as oppsed to the other two.

Sep 8, 2011I had an older computer that had XP on it so I installed windows 7 and it ran OK, but slower than when it had XP. To go back to XP do I just do as you normally would and use my XP disk and format it and install and when it calls for the previous operating disk stick my windows ME disk in.

- Go to start > all programs > windows update > on the bottom left in that screen you see Installed updates, click it Now search for the Internet explorer 9 and possibly the language pack
If you have the language pack installed deinstall this First (no need to reboot, continue your work) and then deinstall Internet Explorer 9, reboot. Now you have your Internet Explorer 8 back. Possibly updates will need to be installed.
