With Some Sites, Clicking Back Button Doesn't Bring To Previous Page
Dec 1, 2011
You search google, click on a result, and then either backspace or click the back button, but instead of going back to google, you stay on the current site. Why does that happen, and is there anything to do about it?Using IE 8 32-bit in Windows 7 64-bit here, but have been seeing this problem for a long time with previous versions.
When I hit the back button (no matter how many times), nothing happens. Now, I understand that this can happen on some pages, but this is EVERY PAGE. Sometimes if I refresh the page and then hit the back button it will work, but not always. Since it does it on every page, it's obviously not website-related, so what is it?
I do a web search and visit a selected site, there after I return to the web search page. Previous viewed websites are highlighted in purple, and non viewed website are blue. Maybe I'm going color blind, but sometimes it's difficult for me to distinguish between purple and blue. How can I change the color of previous viewed websites on search page?
I used two screens on my computer. I used certain program when I was using 2 screens. Now I have only 1 screen and that program opens to that "missing screen". How to bring it back to desktop?
Basically I want to know how to bring all of the windows within a group back to their original sizes.
For instance let's say I've got two Word files open side by side. If I go to a maximized Google window to look something up now I have to click on both word files separately. After a while this gets to be a bit of annoyance. I'd like to know how to click on the Word tab and bring both word windows back to the size they were before another window was on top.
I watch videos from this site Poker Netcast | Live At The Bike | LABTTheir login is https.Ive been in IT for 15 years and even this has stumped me.When I go to login in IE9 starts looping from the login page to the https page and back to the original page and never ends. I load firefox, same issue. I load Crome, it worked for 1 day then same issue. It used to login in fine last week. It logs in fine on my 2 other PCs and my Kindlefire.I have checked for viruses with Avast and A-Malware Bytes in safe mode - nothing. These 2 pick up 98% of stuff. Personally I dont think its a virusn IE9 - Deleted browsing history, cookies, temp internet files, everything under the Geneeral/Browsing History section. Did a disk cleanup, put the site inthe trusted zone, turned off popup blocker just in case, Cleared SSL state, Reset IE9. Zippo
I have tried F8 several times to bring up advanced boot options--just to make sure it comes up in case I ever need it. Well--it has no affect; my PC continues into Windows 7. What am I missing here?
This is the second time I've gotten this bug, and it seems to occur roughly two weeks after a fresh install.
Long story short, I pin all of my favorite applications to the taskbar and when I click on a running program, I expect it to bring focus to that program (bring it to the front). Instead, it flashes yellow and the window that I want stays behind every other window. The only program that does not do this is Digsby for whatever reason.
Basically, the only way to see an existing window is to minimize all of the windows in front of it and only clicking on the window itself will give it focus. That's partly a lie, because I've discovered that a series of clicks on the taskbar icon will do it, namely: right click, left click, right click, left click. I don't want to have to do four clicks when one normally works.
I am running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit acquired through the MSDN program for students (Academic Alliance or something). I do know that I never had these issues in the beta with Ultimate edition.
If I try to search for something (that I know it is on program files, for exemple) on "C:" using the explorer search bar, it stays a long time searching and bring me back NOresults...But, if I go to program files folder, it almost bring me the result instantly
I have an issue with my computer that is extremely annoying since it repeats over and over again. The issue is that a sound similar, if not identical to the "Page Loaded" sound from Internet Explorer. I haven't used Internet Explorer in two years, instead I use Firefox 3.16.16. This noise is not only annoying but scares me that a virus or trojan is running in the background using Internet Explorer to download more viruses (Which is the reason why I switched to Firefox in the first place.) The sound is so annoying that I literally have to mute my headphones and speakers to prevent that noise from playing. The sound plays even when Firefox isn't running and even plays when I'm playing some video games. I've had this problem before (With what might be my other computer, but it could very well be this one)[CODE]
im trying to shut down my computer by clicking on the shutdown butten but nothing is happening, i also clicked on the restart butten still no results but when i hit the hybenate button it hybenates please tell me how to fix this problem
I have been having a Windows 7 issue for a week now. Last week, my desktop computer had the "blue screen of death" and it sort of fixed itself and rebooted, and it seemed to be working again. However, in the past 2 days, everytime I turn on the computer, and then when the desktop pops up, and I click the start menu button, the whole desktop freezes and I can't click anywhere else. I tried going on safe mode and do a system restore, but the choices of time to reset my computer was still after the blue screen of death. It's really frustrating, because I can't turn my computer off properly anymore cause it just freezes, I can't backup my files, because it's frozen, and I can't backup in safe mode.
Does anyone know why I have to keep signing in to all my forums and hotmail after every reboot? Even my desktop layout doesn't save. How do I resolve this please?
I had Excel 2007 on Windows XP and now just upgraded to Windows 7. Excel 2007 (also tried the beta of Excel 2010) does not work well. The PASTE function losts it PASTE FORMULA and other paste special options. Sometime, it shows up but most of the time it's not there. CUT/INSERT cut cells are also gone.
So i returned to my work computer after lunch and the resolution had been changed to 800x600, very odd.Now i have spent 2 hours trying to get back my resolution to the 1680x1050 that is was before but i still can not choose anything higher then 1600x1200 under Screen Resolution settings. The one with the correct ratio i can choose is 1280x960 and i'd like to bigger one back.I have updated the driver for my graphics card (ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics accoridng to Device Manager). I have updated the driver for the Monitor (HP LE2201w), but the monitor still shows up as Generic Non-PnP Monitor under Device Manager and now i am out of ideas... I really have no idea what the hell happened when i was gone.(And yes, the computer was locked so it wasn't someone else changing something)Uninstalling the driver for the Generic device does nothing, it pops back up again after installing the correct display driver, or after a restart. It's like the display driver i downloaded from HP is not being installed, no idea why.
I have a situation where Word 2010 does not default back to the previous file location. i.e., I open a file from a particular folder. When I click File, Open, it does not default to that folder location so I can open another file from that location. I have to rebrowse to the folder location.
I want to ask if I rolled back to previous version of a device driver will this cause corruption or damage to the laptop as after I have updated to a recent version there seems to be some issues and I want to roll back?
Essentially, upon starting up my computer, from time to time, I have no yet been able to isolate what may cause this issue, I will find that I cannot launch programs from their shortcuts in the Quick Start or Taskbar menu. As of right now I have not tried to launch said programs from the original .exe file in this scenario.I've noticed that when I try to open these programs from the Taskbar, the icon will be surrounded by a square to indicate that it is active, but, after a period of maybe 5 seconds or so, sometimes longer, it will disappear and the program will no longer look active. Opening up the task manager, the programs usually show up in the Processes under the appropriate name. Multiple instances of a program can appear, even when, under normal circumstances, multiple instances aren't allowed (such as with Firefox). The processes will usually show a static amount of memory used, like 108k for any firefox.exe in the process list, and will simply sit there until they are ended, despite the program not actually running. When this happens I generally have to restart the computer and hope it works on the restart.
I just got an Acer laptop. Sometimes, for no reason I understand, the browser will suddenly go back a page. I am using Firefox. I have not had this happen on any other system with Firefox. Is it something with the mouse on the laptop?
Am I the only one whom dislikes the windows 7 windows explorer, I have ceased using the original "My" Folders years ago, all of my data is on NAS Servers, is there a replacement program that will allow me to customize file access more like XP My computer, All I want to do is access the data, I did not lose anything, I do not need to search for anything and I will organize my data the way I want to - not the way windows thinks I should
Also - I see colors quicker than I can read text - so in previous OS (XP) I would change the folders to icons, really weird that they retained the icons from the original info after I copied my icon folder to the C drive, however it appears as though i cannot change a folder to an icon in Windows 7.
When I mouse over the taskbar buttons, the glow doesn't go away after I move the mouse away. This doesn't happen all the time, but seems to always pop up eventually on every boot, and persists until I restart. It's done this across several gpu driver updates, so it must be something with Windows 7.
before some months i made two partitions on my hard drive to install ubuntu 10.10 and installed it sucessfull the dual-boot thing worked very well also BUT yesterday i decided to unistall it so i formatted the two partitions where i had ubuntu and then using EasyBCD i reinstalled the windows vista/7 boot loader and worked well until today where i wanted to enter the advanced boot menu using the F8 button but it didnt work i tryed several times but with no luck before the installation of ubuntu i was able to accses the menu but now i cant
I have a Windows 7 Professional 32 bit operating system, which is joined to a domain at my workplace. If i open Eindows Explorer and open a network drive ( I: ), then the Windows Explorer open's it, but after a few seconds later, it jumps back to the main page. It is very annoying. I have 11 network drives, but only on two networks drives occurs this problem.
