How To Bring Misplaced Off-screen Windows Back
Jan 3, 2010
I used two screens on my computer. I used certain program when I was using 2 screens. Now I have only 1 screen and that program opens to that "missing screen". How to bring it back to desktop?
I have Windows 7 Ultimate.

Basically I want to know how to bring all of the windows within a group back to their original sizes.
For instance let's say I've got two Word files open side by side. If I go to a maximized Google window to look something up now I have to click on both word files separately. After a while this gets to be a bit of annoyance. I'd like to know how to click on the Word tab and bring both word windows back to the size they were before another window was on top.

You search google, click on a result, and then either backspace or click the back button, but instead of going back to google, you stay on the current site. Why does that happen, and is there anything to do about it?Using IE 8 32-bit in Windows 7 64-bit here, but have been seeing this problem for a long time with previous versions.

I hate the "Libraries" bring back "My Computer"
Am I the only one whom dislikes the windows 7 windows explorer, I have ceased using the original "My" Folders years ago, all of my data is on NAS Servers, is there a replacement program that will allow me to customize file access more like XP My computer, All I want to do is access the data, I did not lose anything, I do not need to search for anything and I will organize my data the way I want to - not the way windows thinks I should
Also - I see colors quicker than I can read text - so in previous OS (XP) I would change the folders to icons, really weird that they retained the icons from the original info after I copied my icon folder to the C drive, however it appears as though i cannot change a folder to an icon in Windows 7.

trying to find some key+click combination to bring all windows for a given application to the top of z-order. For example, I have several Putty terminal windows open in the stacked taskbar icon and I want to display all of them, not just the last used. The only work-around I have found so far is to shift+right-click and "minimize all windows" followed by "restore all windows".

[URL] is my fathers homepage on his pc and he asked me to come over and look at it since it recently started where if he would search for something on MSN it would open up a blank tab next to the MSN page tab with nothing in it at all. When you close it or go back to the MSN page the word you searched for is still there but there is no search results displayed. Searches work perfectly fine on google just as they should, problem seems strictly with MSN.I checked and double checked to make sure he didnt have some addon running, I checked for viruses, I checked for toolbars and I checked the tab settings (I tried setting them to default) and I found nothing.Having him simply just use google as his homepage isnt an option. He isnt real tech friendly and he is 68 so he doesnt exactly like using things he isnt already familliar with and comfortable with. His pc is running 32bit windows 7 with all the updates and internet explorer 9.

I find that the Windows 7 boot screen slows down the boot process on my machine. Is there a way to restore the old Vista scrolling loading bar? I know it's there as my netbook uses it.

My mothers Dell running Windows 7 has a problem where, soon after powerup, the screen goes to a Windows Error Recovery screen featuring two options, either A) Launch Startup Repair, or B) Start Windows Normally. If A is chosen, then it goes to a screen which says, Loading files at the bottom with a loading bar, then when the bar is full, the screen returns right back to the Windows Error Recovery screen. The same with starting normally.

Yesterday I was helping someone with a few nits on a HP Laptop with Windows 7 Home Prem x64. He asked me to look into the "My Documents" folder saying he had no idea where "this stuff came from" nor what the value/import might be. I took a look, and sure enough there were a handful of folders in there that I would think should either be in the Programs or Programs Data folders associated with certain Applications. One was a folder "My Stationery" but did not appear to be Windows 7 stationery, but something else.Another had a bunch of system/app files in it associated with the place he purchased the laptop from [office depot] - re: some support maintenance stuff they sold him. There were others just as odd.

This is the second time I've gotten this bug, and it seems to occur roughly two weeks after a fresh install.
Long story short, I pin all of my favorite applications to the taskbar and when I click on a running program, I expect it to bring focus to that program (bring it to the front). Instead, it flashes yellow and the window that I want stays behind every other window. The only program that does not do this is Digsby for whatever reason.
Basically, the only way to see an existing window is to minimize all of the windows in front of it and only clicking on the window itself will give it focus. That's partly a lie, because I've discovered that a series of clicks on the taskbar icon will do it, namely: right click, left click, right click, left click. I don't want to have to do four clicks when one normally works.
I am running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit acquired through the MSDN program for students (Academic Alliance or something). I do know that I never had these issues in the beta with Ultimate edition.

When the screen shuts off due to time or the lid being closed, it doesn't seem to want to turn back on. I can put into standby and bring it back out and it works just fine. But, I'd rather not have to do that all the time.
It's a Dell Inspiron E1505 with a ATI Radeon X1400 video card if that helps at all.
If you need more info, let me know.

Repair company ****ed up my PC, they changed booting sequence and switch off BIOS booting screen. Now when I want to reinstall my system (because of serious virus) my PC doesn't accept booting win DVD and I can't see any port messages. Can't acces BIOS. I tried taping 'delete' , 'F2' , 'TAB' , 'F8' non of it works. Maybe it works because when I tried taping them I couldn't see anything on screen 'no signal to monitor' and system didn't start at all. It takes 15 minutes to start system now without touching anything. It's new computer connected to plasma screen via HDMI. Whole spec is ni my profile.
