System Recovery Error Message?
Jul 29, 2012I can not get past the System Recovery Error Message screen. I have tried F8 and then safe mode, restore to an earlier point, repair and all to no avail????

Nov 11, 2012On loading Windows, I've been receiving an odd error message in reference to a non-existent "F:System Reserved" drive stating "you must format the disk in drive F: before you can use it." This will occur multiple times per minute at first before eventually going away. Each time the error occurs, this F: drive will appear for a split second before immediately disappearing once more. While this hasn't seemed to impact the performance of the computer in any way, the repeated errors essentially make the computer unusable for the first 2-3 minutes after loading.

Jun 18, 2012Today I started getting a strange error message pop up that stated "This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." It seems to pop up at random. First couple times, I ignored it. When it persisted, I googled it, only to find most people with this error are having issues with links in outlook. I do not use outlook or IE, and wasn't doing anything browser related during any of the errors, so, lazily, I ignored it again. Finally, when one of these errors kicked me out of my Portal game, I decided I had to do something about it. I decided to just system restore before I went through any huge hassle before I tried figuring anything major out.
System restore went swimmingly, didn't seem to have any issues. But.. My keyboard and mouse, both wireless and usb, weren't working upon reboot. Okay. Different port. Nope. All of them are dead. All. Even the motherboard ones in the back. NO usb device I plug in works, or even registers. To make it weirder, I see that my wireless isn't connecting (the internet is fine) and my sound is muted. Sound was on when I started system restore. It's like all input into my machine is no longer accepted. I know the CD drive works, because inserting a CD even brought up the autoplay window, even though I can't actually input anything.

Jul 12, 2011i downloaded a trial progran and deleted it, then i had problems with windows, booted eventually after 6 minutes but no internet and i get this error message, windows cannot connect to systen event services,log in as admin and check what services fail to load, but it wont even do that. my system restore has also been disabled etc. i tried a repair but no joy, so i tried an upgrade but, because the installed version on the PC is newer than the CD version it wont do the upgrade. i am trying to avoid a clean install. how can i get past the "you have a newer version of windows" and do the upgrade,

May 17, 2012I had two hdd's in my computer and decided to remove one as I did not really need it and figured it save some power, after removing secondary hard drive which was just being used as storage i received the " MBR Error 1" after about 2 hours researching, I found I could repair it from windows cd, only problem is I only have a live usb version of it and when I try to launch system recovery the operating system is not listed and I have to load drivers for the hard disk. I really do not want to wipe and reinstall windows as its only been 2 weeks since i built the system and also I have a game which is 25gb digital download installed on it but it deletes the installation files after installing it and reinstalling would mean re-installing.
I guess I have 2 questions:
1. Is there anyway to copy a liveusb onto a disk ? for example, make an iso of a usb drive and burn it to dvd?
2. What drivers would I have to load on the windows startup recovery to get it to see the operating system

Windows Error Recovery - System Repair Disk Didn't Fix
Nov 19, 2011I'm writing about my brother's Samsung R780 laptop (running Windows 7 64 bit), which recently stopped working. When he starts the computer, he gets the following error: "Windows Error Recovery." Searching around online led us to create a system repair disk on my laptop (which also runs Windows 7). When we boot with the disk in the drive, a prompt asking for our language (which is greyed out so we can't change it) and our keyboard (which we can change) appears. Without changing the keyboard option, we press 'next' and then it freezes. We've also tried the 'repair your computer' option in the Advanced Boot Options, but it also freezes.

Nov 24, 2012I have this laptop with Windows 7 as the operating system and with a capacity of 500 GB. My HDD was making loud noises and weird noises so I brought it to the shop and they told me to change the HDD because it might die anytime. So I did a full backup on my external hard disk, meaning that I cloned my laptop. I changed my 500gb HDD with a 240gb SSD. And when I tried to restore my backup files into the new drive, there's an error: "no disk that can be used for recovering the system disk can be found".
So I did some research on the internet and found out the reason of the error: it's because the image created was from a bigger drive than the new drive I put into my laptop. Even though my backup files are only about 100gb, I still cant restore it to my 240gb SSD because the image created was from my 500gb HDD. I am going to copy my backup files into an external hardisk with a capacity of 200gb and then backup from that drive and then I will restore it into my 240gb SSD. Will the backup file be considered as a backup from the 200gb drive or from the original 500gb HDD?
Disc ASUS Recovery Error 1029, Cannot Boot Into That Recovery Partition
Jun 23, 2012I've gotten to the point where I need to just reinstall windows completely on my Asus G74SX (too many problems, I want to start fresh.). I encounter an error 1029 with Asus's recovery disks that I made when I had windows working: it says it is recovering all the way to 100% then doesnt work. I am in the process of trying it again so I'll see if it actually managed to wipe my hard drive like it said it was doing, and maybe if it did actually work and reinstall windows.However, I'd like to be able to get into the recovery partition because I would prefer restoring it with Asus as they recommend me to. However, when I hit F9, their target to get there, it doesn't do anything and just reloads the boot screen, with the Asus logo on it. I don't have an actual Wndows recovery CD so that's not an option, and at this point since my hard drive has likely been wiped by these recovery DVDs, I don't think going into Ubuntu and fixing the MBR will do me much good anymore.It may be worth noting that before I last restarted, I marked the Windows partition as active because of a tutorial here, making it so that recovery partition isn't active anymore.

Mar 12, 2011I have already reported to Sony to but i heard their take their time but thats the one thing what i dont have at the moment so i know many people here know about that stuff to. So anyway. Some time ago SP1 launched for Windows 7. I installed but it but something went it wrong and it didn't install correcly and then i was forced to use System restore. Everything worked and i haven't used SP1 because i don't want to risk screwing up my computer before some important things, i got plenty of time later for that . The problem is after the system restore every time Vegas launches i get a error : Sony Vegas pro 10 an error occurred starting Vegas Pro Error 0x80070002 (message missing).

Yesterday, I again decided to do a recovery but this time, the partition where I have my files got deleted and the space it had "returned" to the OS partition. Orignally, I shrunk the OS partition so that I can have space for my partition for my personal files.If it helps, I've done a "system recovery" but saw one of it has a "mini system recovery" option. When i didn't press any key to escape the message it remained static like that for over an hour. Can anyone explain what is happening and how can i maintain a healthy disk in the first place to avoid this message?

Aug 11, 2011My Windows 7 x64 desktop box developed a problem this morning with the ACLS file that Windows diagnostics could not fix. After several attempts, I decided to do a non-destructive re-set via the recovery management software included with the box (eMachines 1331, which came with no disks, only recovery partition).
The process seemed to go smoothly, but the Restore Progress screen has been sitting at 'Please wait a moment...' for well over an hour now and I'm puzzled. Shouldn't there be some sort of progress bar indicating how long remaining in the process, or is it meant to just sit on the 'Please wait a moment...' with the trailing dots cycling from 1 to 5 dots as it is doing?
The drive is 683 gigs usable, with about 50% in use for files and programs.

That being said, here's what happened.I booted up our Sony Viao running Windows 7 and a window popped up talking about system recovery.
