I just got a new computer, custom built nothing on either hard drives, i have a 1tb hard drive and a 64 gb SSD drive. I have a brand new windows 7 oem version, I start my computer up and it gets stuck on a screen.

It's a recurrent problem, but it happens only when I'm playing games, altough it seens to happen with all games, it happens more often when I'm playing World of Warcraft and Pro Evolution Soccer 2011, since they're the ones I play most. When the system crashes, the blue screen shows no file names but the log when the PC resets shows that BCCode: 7f / BCP1: 0000000D, don't know what it means. My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit. I ran out of ideas for solutions, tried an OS reset (I was on XP and formated it to install 7), reinstalled all my drivers and tried all kinds of forums, looking for a solution, but nothing happened.
View 2 Replies View Relatedbut I was given it used from the previous owner and later found out it was refurbished. It is a Gateway NV53A. I have always had issues with BSOD's and Windows errors, and most of them either driver or memory related. I fixed and updated all drivers, but never did anything about memory except maybe some tests and they all came out fine. 3 days ago, I was using my PC just browsing a Web page and suddenly the screen went black. I thought it was the lcd, but I closed the lid to see if it would go into standby mode and it just stood there powered on and frozen... The only way it would react was if I manually turned it off holding power button.
Sometimes it does boot up, sometimes it gets farther than others. What I mean is, sometimes it gets past the Gateway logo and crashes there, sometimes it boots up to to the home screen, and sometimes it doesn't even boot... How far it gets depends on how long the PC has been turned off. Odd I know... Anyways, I found out my motherboard requires ram with 1066mhz fsb whereas the current ram sticks it has installed are 800mhz.... I was told new ram with 1066mhz would fix my issues and allow my PC tu boot and run fine as it always did, but I just wanted to be sure that's my Issue, and I also wanted to know how come the computer ran fine (with the exception of BSOD's and some errors occurring every now and then) before and now suddenly I'm screwed. I'm currently using two 2GB DDR3 Ram memory sticks. The brand and model of each stick is Nanya nt2gc64b88b0ns-cg
I obviously have a problem with Windows 7. My computer worked fine until yesterday evening when suddenly Windows stuck. It looks like my disk is working (or trying to work) constantly. I am only able to use my computer normally every 5 minutes (and just for 20 seconds). Only the mouse works all the time. When I start the task manager nothing looks wrong.Everything works well in safe mode (I am currently using it) so I am a bit confused. Could it be an issue with the hardware?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI tried to flash drive on another computer it worked fine, but on my desktop it will not..If i turn my dektop on without the flash drive it comes up and says Reboot and Select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.If i insert the flash drive it freezes..If i start the computer with the flash drive in, it wont even get to the screen it freezes at the screen that tells me to press f12 for this, esc for that etc etc.This person has the same problem..And I cant boot from my origonal Hard drive because I believe its gone bad, If i start it with that hard drive it says Reboot and select proper boot device, its like it doesnt even recognize it, which im guessing means its gone bad.. But it wont freeze with that hard drive, but I also cant do anything
View 14 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my computers power supply and graphics card to brand new ones. When I oot my computer up, it is now stuck on "windows is starting" screen. When I try to boot in any of the safe modes, I load up to atipcie.sys then my computer freezes and never continues to load the rest of safe mode. When I click repair computer, I get stuck at the Blue windows screen, and as soon as it starts up a cmd box pops up then quickly closes before I could even read it. I also tried loading last working configuration but no luck. Even when I load boot recovery mode, a cmd box comes up quick then closes and continues to be stuck.

I have gone through the recovery start up, pressing F8 to get to the screen, after pressing system recovery, it just takes me to a blue screen and then back to the page that tells you windows failed to start up normally. I have tried safe mode, the same thing happens and then I tried last known good configuration. That led me back to a blue screen with nothing happening except the lights on the front of the computer blinking white several times, then orange back and forth. At one point it did go to a black screen with the lights on the front blinking, but it did that forever and nothing happened

It doesn't always happen, but I have to do a hard reset everytime it does. I already set the HD to never turn off, so I am just wondering what else i can do to stop this freezing?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI share my computer with my father in order to pay off a debt I owe to him, and when I arrived home in the afternoon I was greeted by him, informing me that my computer wouldn't turn on. Generally this would simply be a random issue, or perhaps he turned off the computer and thought it was in sleep (though he's smart enough to tell the difference.). This time, however, was different.I turned the computer on, and to my horror the splash screen shows and then the computer hangs. The only responsive key is Tab, which then shows me the detailed POST description. It tests my memory and shows my processor, etc as well as my drives, but after that it freezes at 'Looking for IDE drives...'. At that point, the only responsive (often it isn't responsive either) key is Delete, and that simply shows a 'prepare to enter Setup' message, and proceeds to do nothing else.I have already tried draining my capacitors (turning my PSU off and holding down the power button), removing and replacing my CMOS battery, continually restarting it, pressing multiple buttons, removing and then putting back my GPU (had to in order to expose my battery) as well as disconnecting and then reconnecting my two drives. I've considered reseating my RAM, but in my past experience doing so has done nothing for previous, similar problems.Both of us have done absolutely nothing that could have damaged the BIOS.

I have a Dell studio XPS desktop computer with windows 7 home premium service pack 1.The processor is an Intel i5 CPU,12gb of ram,64-bit system. I have noticed that recently when I navigate to different screens the web pages will not load up fast until I move the cursor slightly. If I do not move the cursor the page takes forever to load up. I have run scans for viruses and everything comes up negative. I have also changed out the mouse but it still does the same thing. What would cause this and how can I fix the problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently my desktop has started having issues. I purchased it new in january and within this last month when I start it, it gets stuck in the startup screen. When I try to do startup repair it always is unsuccessful. When I view the details it lists this "problem signature 07: Bad patch" I have tried doing a system restore to every point it lists and it says "the instruction at 0xfba8ca53 referenced memory at 0x06e2f90f. The memory could not be read. Click ok to terminate". When I try to enter safe mode it doesn't work either.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy computer was working fine a couple days ago and all of a sudden got a terrible Trojan that would spam me with random IE ads. So I ran ad-aware and it got rid of the problem. I went to bed relieved but woke up to my computer in a black screen with just a single cursor "_" flashing. I figured it was a fluke and restarted. same problem.
So I decided to open up the computer and check the SATA drive connections. Everything looked fine but the problem still persisted. I decided that it could just be slot number 1 and moved it to slot 3. The computer would start up and go to desktop but all of my icons disappeared and the computer would just hang if I tried to open any file or go on the internet or any program.
Obviously, it was because the SATA drive was now in a new slot?? I'm not sure. But I put it back into slot 1 and went into the BIOS setup and sure enough, it was a "not detected" for slot 1. The main HDslot.
I tried to reset the BIOS using the jumper method and it still just hangs on black screen with cursor "_" flashing...

I am not trying to install Windows 7, it came on my computer and has been working fine for over a year now. I restarted my computer a few days ago (after it had been working just fine) and now it will not load past the "Setup is Starting Services" screen. I keep getting the error message "Install Windos: The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click 'OK' to restart the computer, then restart the installation." I cannot figure out why it is mentioning anything about installing windows when it came on the computer and has been working until now. I have hit "ok" and it does nothing but come back to the same stuck point. I do not have a disk for this computer as it never came with one. It is a Toshiba Satellite L455D.
View 4 Replies View RelatedToday I started up my pc and after the BIOS screen (the place where you can press f8-f11 for various options) it went to a black screen with a blinking underscore in the upper left corner and stayed there indefinitely. It did this even after reboot.
I tried using the diagnostic tool and everything it tested passed (including HDD). I did this test twice and the same results were produced.
I also googled for similar problems (one topic mentioned that the op disassembling his computer and physically tapping a chip on the motherboard caused it to work) but I have no experience with taking apart my computer and i do not want to break it accidentally. I did however chance upon a topic advising him to do a CMOS reset which apparently helped that op, so i looked through the various options on the BIOS page. There was one option (f10 I think) mentioning CMOS on its fourth sub-window, so i pressed the reset option but I'm mot entirely sure if I used the right function.
I uninstalled kaspersky pure and replaced kaspersky pure for kaspersky anti-virus yesterday, dont know if this was the cause. I am using windows 7 64 bit.
Like the title says, my computer is stuck on a black screen.I downloaded an update and was instructed to restart the computer. After restarting the computer it went to a black screen. It won't do anything past that. I've tried starting it in safe mode but always with the same result. I have no idea what to do with this short of taking it to Best Buy to have the geek squad take a look at it and frankly I don't feel like doing that.

(advance boot options) but anytime I click any off them it goes to a screen where it says I need to put in the windows installer disk. I do not have any disk but I downloaded the repair disc from my other laptop. I put the disk in the computer and restart it and it just goes back to same screen. It does not automatic rebot, or ask me to rebot from disk.

I was messing around with the settings trying to get a more clear pricutre, and now the desktop doesn't show any icons, no menu bar, and the background is partially cut out all around (like it's stretched to the original picture size). When I use ctrl alt delete the tv just goes black.The main problem is I can't use the main screen to adjust anything because my friend cracked it bad enough to where I can't make anything out.I have no problems using my friend's 40" tv, so I tried adjusting the resolution to a smaller size, but when I plug it back into the smaller tv it still doesn't work.I think this started happening when I changed some stuff in Asus Utilities Extended Desktop, but disabling that doesn't work.

Whenever I turn it on from cold or restart, the screen is off up until Windows starts loading. If I keep pressing DEL during boot, the BIOS comes up on the screen. Exit the BIOS and same, nothing on the screen until windows is loading. Whenever mce2005 started up, media center automatically displayed on my tv screen rather than my pc monitor. With Windows 7 it seems to display on my PC monitor at startup, even though I have dragged it onto the tv screen the previous time I used it. Is there a way I can get it to start up on my tv screen but keep my PC monitor as my primary screen? My video card is an nVidia GeForce 7300LE
PS It's also time for a video card upgrade as live TV is very choppy - would people recommend ATI or nVidia?
I currently have Windows XP SP3 installed on drive CDrive D is empty - Used to have Windows XPDrive E is my data drive.I put the Windows 7 64 Bit DVD in, it boots up and states loading files, then I see the coloured dots make the Microsoft window, then a blue screen with coloured lines and what looks like leaves. The mouse works, but that's where it all stops. I don't see anything else. Do I need to do anything special at this stage to proceed?What I want to do.I want to install Windows Ultimate onto Drive D but keep my Windows XP install as Dual Boot for now. I imagine, the CD would give me options to install like XP used to on drive of my choice, format my D drive and install.
