After attempting to start my PC in Safe Mode to uninstall a graphics driver, it loaded drivers normally only to crash a few seconds after displaying the logon screen, which immediately caused the computer to load Windows normally. This error has been repeated countless times with the same result.
I have only tried to start up 'normal' Safe Mode. Sometimes key strokes are accepted (one time I had enough time to start inputting my password), but mostly, Safe Mode loads drivers, flashes the logon screen, and crashes.
Any ideas/advice? I have had this computer for 3 years now and this is the first time I have tried to start it in Safe Mode. If it matters, it's a Studio 1737, 8 GB ram, etc., more details can be provided if necessary.
Upon booting the machine it just shows the background and the mouse cursor. Tried it in safe mode and i get the same issue. I also tried startup repair same issue. Machine came pre installed with 7.

My computer keeps freezing seconds after it logs in. I am not sure what to do and would like some help please. I also ran hijack this and got this result.

I am in a very unussual situation. When I start my Laptop for a safe mode I hold the F8 key as it reboots, it brings me to the Choice screen. With an arrow Key, I direct it to SAFE MODE, hit the enter key and neccessary drivers list is displayed in black, no problems. Then it goes straight to discovery mode, runs the diagnostics and asks me to recover, instead of SAFE MODE so that I can work on Uninstall graphic adapter and install one that supports WIN 7, instead of Standard VGA Graphic Adapter.
The problem is that when I boot my PC it will go black and restart after getting to the windows logo boot part. If I try Safe mode it will get to SYSTEM32DRIVERSDISK.SYS and then just bluescreens and restarts again. Before it got to CLASSPNP.SYS but I tried to rename it to CLASSPNP.OLD and now it didn't really change much. I also tried using this code but it just tells me that some files are corrupt and it cannot repair it.If I try the automatic repair option it will just try and repair for a couple of hours and then say it cannot repair and rebooting the PC.

I'm randomly getting BSOD when my computer is not in safe mode. The last one I got I was able to get the error code and a mini dump file. Since I am not proficient in reading the logs
I recently got a virus 2 days ago. It disable my possibilities from accessing any program or internet. I made a mistake by downloading a windows something ware to boot up security. It then crash...so I went to task manager didnt work, which i then went to search and entered msconfig. I then chose safe mode in minimal services. It then says loading files. U see a black screen with thite letters of the files being loaded. Then u see ur mouse cursor, and then it boots up again and same process. So I tried launch startup repair, it launches a repair, but it says it startup cannot repair this computer automactically. I then result into going to tapping f8..it goes to the screen of advanced options. Problem is if i try safe mode it will crash. I dont have a backup, and i dont want to lose my movies of over 700 gigs.
i recently ran into a problem with starting up my computer. I have the blue screen of death. I've tried safe mode. It won't work. I would click safe mode it would load and then go back to the blue screen. I have a lenovo laptop and I'm not trying to pay 150-200 for it!
i have an HP Pavillion dv7 with windows7. It is less then 3 months old. Problem- Yesterday the screen went black while i was watching a video, but the sound kept going. so i restarted the computer, and the screen works until you get to the login screen it goes black again. SO i called customer service at hp, and we worked on it for an hour.THe one thing that seems to work is when i go to the device manager, uninstall the display adapters, and restsart in normal mode, then i go and reinstall the ATI device thing in the recovery manager, but everytime after i reinstall the ATI display device thing, it ends up going black a little while later again. lol

Lately whenever i try to start my computer it pass the Dell Bios and then directly goes to the screen which states Repair your system or Start windows normally When i chose repair system , it start downloading windows files and then launch the windows , but hung up at the sky blue login window with only movable cusor . When i choose to start windows normally it gives me BSOD momentarly ( hard to see the message) and then restarts again . i tried with the advanced boot up options like repair my computer , all safe modes , restore to last good configuration but it does the same and hangs at windows loging sky blue window .I Tried to run the Dell PSA+ Diagnostic and it returns with 2000-0146 error . As per the Dell online solutions for this type of error ,I tried to reinstall the Hard disk but the problem still exist.
Ive had my laptop just over a year now, and have had no problem with it till yesterday. I recently installed a new printer and three days later all I get is the "blue screen of death" I have tried starting with repairs and it says there is no problem. I tried starting it up in safe mode, safe mode + networking, and safe mode + command prompt and continue to receive the blue screen.
Not load past the welcome screen. we tried getting in on safe mode, that didn't work, she shut it off, waited, turned it back on, and it did the same thing, except finally after 15 minutes logged her into a temporary profile, without any of her files etc. how does she get back to her own profile to where her files are? and what can we do to troubleshoot this?
My samsung R522 Windows 7 ultimate 32bits has started freezing on the welcome screen. And to add to that on the log in screen there is now no text in the popup boxes or for the account name. I have tried all safe modes, last known good configuration and with Samsung recovery 3 i have done a basic restore but nothing has worked. I would be open to a full system restore if i needed to but i would prefer not to.
The computer i am running has been through a lot of stuff, and this morning it finally gave out on me, It blue screened and now will only start in safe mode, when i run it normally it allowed me to type my password then it freezes while saying welcome. and does not go past there sometimes it will restart or blue screen from there. runs fine though.
I have to load the safe mode for installing Steam after a crash. So I entered the advanced boot menu and chose Safe Mode with Networking. It started loading some .sys files. After a lot (I think it was loaded correctly) of .sys files my screen froze and after 3 seconds some weird blue dots appeared and (Left upper corner. Every dot was like 10x30 pixels) after some more seconds my screen turned black. No cursor, no login screen. How can I log in to the safe mode?
I am experiencing the black screen issues with my new windows 7 lenovo laptop. when it starts normally, I can get to my user logon screen but when I select a profile the computer takes a moment to load through the welcome... part and then just a faint light blue screen with cursor. In normal mode I have a cursor but no button or keyboard functionality whatsoever. I can boot the computer into safe mode with full safe mode functionality.I have spent literally 3 days working on the issue. I have tried everything I can to this point. Re-installing my graphics driver, disabling it all together and trying a new boot, same result. I've deleted all user accounts and created new ones (as I said this laptop was brand new so I don't have a lot of personal data on it, none anymore) as well as checked my winlogon/ shell to verify explorer.exe. System restore and Boot repair are also not working to help the issue at all.
One day i was on my computer and it crashed and since then every time i try and open up my computer normally it will reach the point where my user has to log in and cut out just before. Can still hear windows just my screen says "no connection with pc". Ive tried other wires/monitors and stuff and nothings worked.I have a Nvidia graphics card and ive tried completely removing my nvida files and reinstalling the drivers from the website. When i uninstalled the graphics driver it allowed me back onto windows normally except when i reinstalled the driver (on the normal version of windows not saftey) after the restart it went back to the same problems.
I have a Toshiba Satellite C655D laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium. Computer was working like a dream and has been for about a year now, when yesterday I booted up after running Windows update, like always, logged on like normal, only to see a blank screen with only my mouse cursor. Neither Ctrl+Alt+Del nor Ctrl+Shft+Esc work to bring up the Task Manager. I am able to boot into Safe Mode just fine, but of course unable to uninstall the Windows updates to the .NET framework.I have tried System Restore several times now, both from the Safe Mode and from the start-up recovery options accessed via F8 upon system startup. From the same menu, I have attempted Startup Repair but alas, Windows does not detect any problems (go figure, right? ).I have ran the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool to check if my hardware was going bad, and upon completion, it rebooted, once again, to a blank screen after being prompted to log in. Mouse works, nothing else does. Upon pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del I am greeted with the following message after waiting roughly 5 minutes:"The logon process was unable to display security and logon options when CTRL+ALT+DELETE was pressed. If the operating system does not respond, press ESC or restart the computer by using the power switch."^Pressing ESC makes the message disappear along with my mouse, so that I am staring at a completely blank screen.I am on my friend's MacBook Pro right now, I'm really hoping someone can help, but I must admit I am reluctant to think so because someone once came to this board with the seemingly exact same problem and no one here was able to help him.Just to reiterate, I can boot up in Safe Mode, with or without Networking as well as accessing the Command Prompt. That's about all I can do.Edit: Now when I do a System Restore, I get this error message when it restarts (everything else is blank unless I restart in Safe Mode): However, when I try to navigate to this location either via Windows Explorer in Safe Mode or via the Command Prompt, one can clearly see that the location doesn't exist. I am confused.
Anyone had similar problems with The Sims 3 crashing computer to the safe mode screen? Been playing Sims on my laptop for couple of years and everything was fine until I installed a new game. Im not sure whether there is a windows update which is interferring or not. Anyone experience anything? There is nothing wrong with my graphics card and my fan isnt overheating. My dad works in IT and we have basically pulled apart the laptop and rebuilt it and it still crashes when The Sims 3 is installed.
When I start my computer everything seems to be working fine but after login it says Please Wait then freezes at Welcome screen and the cursor can be moved around the screen and shows the loading icon and the screen also flashes black every few seconds. I've restarted and attempted to access Safe Mode however it also freezes at Welcome screen. I went into the repair system screen and tried a system restore but it says there are no restore points available and I know I haven't deleted my restore points. I've tried disconnecting any of the hardware I've had installed but that hasn't helped either. There also isn't any faulty hardware. When it was last working it said there was a Windows update so I installed the update but when I tried to turn on the computer the next time thats when the problem started and I don't remember what the update was for. I upgraded from Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit to Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit about 2 months ago and up until now I've had no problems with it. What can I do?
Here are the system specs:

i was using my HP 2711x last night and it was working wonderfully, and today i turn it on to do some homework and it doesn't show me the login screen, it's just black. and then i try it in safe mode and it works, what could be the problem? and can you explain step by step so i don't miss anything
After attempting to start my Laptop in Safe Mode, it loaded drivers normally only to crash a few seconds later. A prompt message appears but is impossible to read because Windows immediately reboots upon showing the prompt.
I used clonezilla to copy the data on my laptop drive to an external 640gb drive I had. The cloning process went fine but when I went to boot on the 640gb drive I (expectantly) got a blue screen error. Now, the way to fix this would be to boot into safe mode and delete the drivers but for some reason every time I boot and press the f8 button it brings me into the Windows Error Recovery mode menu which has no options for safe mode and doesn't help at all.
Well I am going to talk about this problem from the beginning my laptop was fine running on vista OS and when I heared about windows 7 I installed it and that went fine too 4 months later the laptop suddenly restarts at any time (browsing - playing games .. etc) I took it to a technical and he formatted it to windows XP then when I opened the laptop it restarted on loading screen (where the logo is displayed) I told the technical and he said that I should go to safe mode and restart from there I tried this and it worked a few weeks later and this method stopped working now I must go to safe mode and restart and go there again and restart ... etc now it is luck which opens it cause it works sometimes and sometimes not yesterday i re-installed windows 7 on another drive (not C:/) and to complete installation I must restart the computer now I must choose an operation system on startup so when i choose windows 7 it restarts on loading and the same on XP but I can acces safe mode in XP
My Laptop is toshiba satellite A300 - 4GB Ram - ATI Radeon Graphic card 1GB - 400 GB hdd
My computer always freezes at the shutdown loading screen (When i restart and shutdown). But when im in safe mode it shuts down normally. It Freezes for about 15 min each time then it goes back to my desktop and says an unexpected shutdown happened.

Firstly I'm on Windows 7 64. Over the last few weeks I've noticed that after starting up my laptop, and logging in just fine, the screen would go black for a couple of seconds-- my cursor would appear and I could move it around, but the screen would be black. After 10 seconds or so, the Windows 7 GUI would load just fine and there I would be.
I restarted my PC at 5AM this morning and it did the same. All I did at that point was send an e-mail via Gmail and shut it down again. At 2PM I went to startup my PC and everything went as usual except the PC never left that black screen with the responsive cursor.
I searched here and found that problem many times, but with one difference-- my PC starts fine in Safe Mode.
I used Advanced System Care to fix some registry errors and am currently running a Malwarebytes full scan.
It might be worth noting that I recently installed Batman: Arkham Asylum and as it was frequently crashing, followed some advice to enable everything at startup, which I did, fixing my game problem. That was around the time the black screen first started showing up, and I assumed it was a result of more things taking place during Windows startup.
Earlier this week my HP desktop forced shutdown while browsing the Internet using IE9. Upon reboot the HP screen loaded, afterwards a black screen with a flashing cursor appeared. I had used CTRL+ALT+DEL function in which my computer rebooted.Showed the HP screen and immediately showed the black screen with a flashing cursor. Again no mouse cursor was available. I performed a diagnostics check in which the CPU, HDD, etc. checked out, restored BIOS to factory settings, even placing the HDD as priority 1. I inserted the Windows recovery disk and attempted a start up repair, and a restore point with no favorable results. Through the recovery disks command prompt I accessed all my music and documents, so I assume the hard drive is still functioning. I'm thinking as a last resort of performing a repartitioning of my hard drive and performing a clean install of Windows 7.
Like the title says, my computer is stuck on a black screen.I downloaded an update and was instructed to restart the computer. After restarting the computer it went to a black screen. It won't do anything past that. I've tried starting it in safe mode but always with the same result. I have no idea what to do with this short of taking it to Best Buy to have the geek squad take a look at it and frankly I don't feel like doing that.
my laptop looks like it has a massive problem. i have been on various forums for advice but unable to solve - this is the problem
* it turns on & I CAN get into advanced menus
* it will not repair itself no matter what
* it will not go into any other modes , safe Etc....therefore I cannot restore to factory settings etc....
* ive Tried all tricks such as F8, Alt & F11 etc..... to get into advanced menu settings - all lead to the black screen
* everything i click on enter leads to a black screen - only a white curser appears.
its as if there is no way of accessing the computer disc/ hard drive in anyway from boot up. there is clearly a hardware problem but i cannot access anything internal beyond ordinary & advanced menus i just keep being led to the black screen & no activity. the menus work & that is all.
I've been looking for a fix for 5 hours and no luck- System restarts as soon as it enters the splash screen, but I can enter into safe mode - SFC /SCANNOW Detects nothing.
Tried bootrec commands and did nothing.. . Tried chkdsk /f /r and still nothing. . . Tried start up repair like 30+ times and it didn't fix it and said no root cause.
