I've been looking for a fix for 5 hours and no luck- System restarts as soon as it enters the splash screen, but I can enter into safe mode - SFC /SCANNOW Detects nothing.
Tried bootrec commands and did nothing.. .
Tried chkdsk /f /r and still nothing. . .
Tried start up repair like 30+ times and it didn't fix it and said no root cause.

I'm having some trouble starting Windows. First I was having trouble with booting into safe mode so I done some Googling and I found this page and tried it [URL] now not only can I not start my PC in safemode but not in normal mode either, with checking the option for safe mode in msconfig it now keeps trying to start my PC in safe mode over and over again. I also cannot start my PC with the last known configuration.
I tried repair my PC with my DVD but that cannot fix it. There is no system restore point or recovery saved.
I tried to do a clean start up and still freezes. I've tried to restore it to previous settings and still having problems. Sometimes it freezes when i'm logging on and if i make it past that then it usually freezes within the next 1-3 minutes.

I really would like to avoid having to completely erasing my Hard Drive.
When I try to start my laptop, windows 7 hangs after a few seconds and i can only move the mouse. Ctrl-alt-del doesn't do anything either. It runs fine in safe mode though.

It freezes just at the windows logo and when trying to load safe mode it freezes at the driver atipcie.sys and then proceeds to go to a black screen with my cursor just in the screen
My Toshiba laptop has been overheating lately. Looked online and saw that this is a common problem with Toshibas. As I currently live in Indonesia (from Tennessee originally) I dont know where to buy the spray cleaner things (yes, thats what I call them...lol i dont know the technical name or brand name.) So when it overheats I usually let it cool down for a bit then restart and just try and keep the bottom elevated so it can cool consistently.
Tonight it overheated and when I went to restart, it restarted normally until it got to the main screen. Things looked ok, but when I moved the mouse it moved for just a second and then everything froze. Not just the mouse, I tried hitting tab,etc to make things move but nothing would happen. Not even the trusty ctl-alt-del magic would happen. I restarted into safe mode and things are ok.

Firstly I'm on Windows 7 64. Over the last few weeks I've noticed that after starting up my laptop, and logging in just fine, the screen would go black for a couple of seconds-- my cursor would appear and I could move it around, but the screen would be black. After 10 seconds or so, the Windows 7 GUI would load just fine and there I would be.
I restarted my PC at 5AM this morning and it did the same. All I did at that point was send an e-mail via Gmail and shut it down again. At 2PM I went to startup my PC and everything went as usual except the PC never left that black screen with the responsive cursor.
I searched here and found that problem many times, but with one difference-- my PC starts fine in Safe Mode.
I used Advanced System Care to fix some registry errors and am currently running a Malwarebytes full scan.
It might be worth noting that I recently installed Batman: Arkham Asylum and as it was frequently crashing, followed some advice to enable everything at startup, which I did, fixing my game problem. That was around the time the black screen first started showing up, and I assumed it was a result of more things taking place during Windows startup.
the computer I am concerned with is running Windows 7 with IE8, Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I am currently in Safe Mode with Networking without issue.The owner of the computer says that something happened earlier today while he was online that sounds like some false antivirus popup, but he's unsure. Here are the symptoms in normal mode. Every application, from moving through them to opening and closing them, runs exceptionally slow - one to three minutes to open, at least a minute to open internet pages. I noticed that, when in IE, as the pages are loading the IE page disappears and reappears. I am not very familiar with Windows 7 so I don't know if it is related. The computer seems to be getting slower as the day goes on. CPU usage is very high.So far, I have disabled many startup items that were unnecessary. I ran CCleaner and cleaned up. MBAM was run in both normal and safe mode, full scans, and found nothing. This is also posted in Viruses and Malware, but I'm unsure where it should live.

When I try to do so, after the "starting windows" page the only things that come up are my mouse, a black screen/background, and a "logonui.exe-bad image- Authui.dll isn't designed to run on windows" error/message (not the exact message). I can't use a system restore (it can't find a restore point), the image recovery tool finds no image to restore from, system repair either doesn't find a problem or can't fix the problem, and basically nothing else works (none of the advanced boot options or other various buttons and tools do anything noticeable). I've even tried to use sfc in command prompt, but whenever I do any sfc things at all (/scannow, verifyonly, verifyfile, etc.) it says there is a system repair pending that requires a reboot. I've restarted 7-8 times and the exact same message keeps coming up. Especially if it involves command prompt.I should also add that it has been crashing more often than I think is normal ever since I got it, but recently it BSODed 3-4 times a day. I have antivirus and also ran a full malwarebytes scan yesterday, and it only found one little issue which was resolved.

When I try to boot up normally, I log in but then the monitors go black but everything else seems to run. Pressing ctrl alt delete works and brings up the screen again but if I try to select task manager for example the screen goes black again. When I came back it had frozen, I hadn't been doing anything untoward, I had been running a few programs at once, just like firefox and word. Anyway I had to turn it off with the power button. Then when I tried turning it back on I was able to log in but there was no desktop, just a black screen, same thing when I used safe mode. Now whenever I turn it on it goes to a disc check and when it gets to a certain number it says its unreadable and safe search just plain doesn't work. I'm gonna lose all my files. I noticed my anti-virus software from Norton is no longer working. When I tried to delete the file to re-download it the program would not delete from my computer. I tried to just update it from the internet the "Run; Save;Cancel menu appeared and when I clicked run nothing happened. I tried this function in safe mode with the same result.
Now my problem is affecting other programs like Microsoft and the shortcuts on my desktop. I have tried downloading the AVG anti virus I ran into the same problem. I am lost for options since it is not letting me run any programs on my computer. I can download programs just fine but thats it. I can use the internet just fine but I try to stay away from that since it leaves me open for more viruses. I need to know of other options that I can try.
