Installation Started Again After First Install?

I went through the installation process of Windows 7 Professional once, and then it began the process again after completing (I think) the first time. I am installing on a new, blank, hard drive on a Compaq Presario C700. I am currently back to the "Where do you want to install Windows?" page. The first time I had no partitions to select. Now I have two, the first says "Disk 0 Partition 1: System Reserved." The second says "Disk 0 Partition 2."

when i start the windows 7 install, it takes forever at the loading windows screen, thn goes to a blank screen with just a cursor on it. it wont even start the install screen. i have to install windows7, because anytime you unplug my computer when its on, it corrupts the os so it wont start. and the cord got caught in the sweeper and unplugged.

I am running Windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron 17R laptop. Inside the program "Dell Support Center" it tells me that BITS - Demand Started to Auto Started. I don't know what BITS is. It runs in the System Services. Should I disable the BITS?

so i decided to re-install windows fresh,i put my windows 7 ultimate 64bit in and booted from it i got to the screen and click next,then agree ,chosse the hard (is only one 1tb),and then the progress bar % come,,like 30sec the pc is getting frozen ...stock,if i do it again same problem.so,changed hard drive ,same problem,all cables are out ,only keyboard and mouse ,i checked the memory with memtest+ it pass 10. so that means is okay,also tested each memory separate ,same problem.so right now i have the dvd drive ,one hdd 1tb ,memory,thats all i have in my pc,and i cant figure out why is it freezing on me all the time,the computer is clean ,no dust!

First, my laptop is a Aspire 5250-BZ853. I received it back in October, I think...may've been earlier. But anyhow, it was working just fine yesterday until I did a Windows Update. I had to restart, and it was fine again. But then it began running sluggishly slow, and just terrible overall so I restarted it once more and that was when the problems began.
This entire day, this has been driving me nuts. I have important files on here, and I backed up most on my external harddrive a bit ago but there were a few I missed and hadn't the chance to get (ironically enough the most important, papers and such.) At first, it said my password was wrong -- as if someone had changed it! I restarted it once more, thinking it an error or something, and did that again so I restarted it again. Finally, it worked but I think it logged me in as safe mode somehow. After that, it restarted on its own and began this loop. I did a LOT of searching on Google until finally someone suggested to someone else to try pressing "ALT + F10" I think it was as it was starting, and finally I made progress. Before that, it was just going into a constant rebooting loop and I couldn't even log into safe mode. Trying to reset it back to a time it was working was futile, because it said there was no recovery time there! So that shot that idea down. At last, I got somewhere.as well. I clicked the reset to factory settings, but still keep all the files (and they would be saved to "C:Backup" and I thought it had finally worked. But now as it reinstalls, I got an error saying something about how it needed to restart or something...so when I clicked "okay" it began again, and finally it all just came to a stop on "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation."

I have just up graded the ram on my PC and Installed Windows 7 on a second hard drive. During install Windows would not finish installation. After two days of tearing my hair out I started stripping everything off the PC leaving only the bare essentials for running. This included removing one of the two sticks of Ram. Win 7 installed and is working perfect, duel booting with XP on two HDD's.The problem, put the second stick of Ram back in XP boots and runs perfectly but reboot to windows 7 and it freezes on the startup screen. Take it back out and it works no problem.

I attempted a windows 7 install on an x64 and x32 system several times with the same result. The Upgrade runs until the last stage and then hangs. I looked at the logs but didn't see any errors. All my systems are custom built using Vista ultimate OEM additions.I was successful installing the software as a new install.I updated all the drivers.

After disc activity ceases, I shut down manually.4) Reboot - normal startup.At this point, I decided to use System Restore to clean out any residue from the failed install before downloading the patch again. So here I am. My PC appears to be running smoothly, but I don't know if there's any hidden damage in the system. I still want to clear out any residue from the failed install before I download the patch again, but now I'm wary of using System Restore. Also, the MSE update notification has me puzzled - the last restore point I tried to restore to preceeded an MSE definitions update, but that restore failed (didn't it?) and anyway, I don't normally recieve definitions update notifications from "Solve PC Issues". This las left me unsure where my system is at restore point-wise right now.

I was having problems with the .net framework, whenever I open a .net application it just crashes, and Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 isn't working too well either.I ran the windows 7 .net framework uninstallation tool, and it said all versions are successfully removed, and now i'm trying to reinstall it, but it's telling me to use the 'turn windows feature on or off' to configure the .net framework.I tried doing that, but the .Net framework wasn't there. I tried opening the installer again, and it says i have to use the 'turn windows features on or off'.

Tolerance here, new to the forums as some of you may notice. Anyways I'm trying to install Windows 7 ultimate package on a PC that previously had Windows Vista. I've already ran the Windows Adviser program, and my PC seems fine so i went ahead and tried to install. First i tried using a burned ISO file to a DVD, with this i made my primary boot device the DVD drive, and my setup started normally. But after i selected the language, then a custom installation, and was directed to select the driver in which Windows 7 would be installed on i would get an error that reads, No device drivers were found. Make sure the installation media contains the correct drivers then click OK."
I've browsed these forums looking for someone with similar problems, and i did find them, and a lot of the threads were really annoying seeing as how so many people decided to reply with long irrelevant comments. Based on the answers from those threads I've tried burning the ISO file with a different burner (which was suggested often), but still with no prevail. So i was wondering if there was a problem with my system, or maybe my C: drive.

Yesterday I bought a new hard drive. I went from a Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB to a Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB. So, same family of HDDs. I put in a burned Windows 7 install disc, and the process went okay until after the computer restarted and moved on to 'Completing Installation'. It just sits there. It doesn't freeze - I can move the mouse and there are three little dots after 'Completing Installation' that continue animating. I can also click the red X at the top-right but it says installation cannot be canceled at that point, which makes sense.I first let it sit on 'Completing Installation' for two hours. Then I turned my computer off, unplugged everything except for my mouse and keyboard, formatted the drive to get rid of any bad data, and tried again. After three hours of 'Completing Installation', I removed my video card, all but one stick of RAM, and entered the BIOS to see if there were any options relating to my hard drive. The only options I found were the options to choose a hard drive - I only have the one - and a couple of Plug and Play options. I restarted setup again, formatted again, and started the process over. Then I went to bed.
This morning, seven hours later, it was still sitting at 'Completing Installation'. I tried taking the install disc out to see if the install would stop or throw up an error, but it didn't make a peep. I took the install disc to my other computer to copy the data to a folder on the desktop, to see if there was an error. Everything copied fine. Plus, when I burned the DVD, I burned it at the lowest possible speed and had the program verify it. Everything came up fine.One thing I'll mention - when I start setup, I'm given an option to install a driver. I decided to choose that option just to see if it might provide any clarity. It then showed me the contents of my hard drive. Program Files was in there, My Documents was in there. So setup is doing something, it's just not finishing for some reason.

I have a Samsung series 9 (NP9004XC) and I am upgrading the 128gb SSD that came with the computer to a Crucial M4 256GB mSATA. I am doing a clean install from a bootable USB that I created from the recovery disc that was included with the computer.I can load up setup but once I get to the part where I choose what disk I want to install it to I get an error. There is only one disk listed (Disk 0, Partition 1) and when I try to select that disk to install Windows to I get the error:"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."

However, they did not include any sort of media with it aside from the free antivirus; no repair/install disc, no drivers, nothing. Can W/7 install to a SCSI drive without the driver installation (F6)? I'm just about to install W7, and it seems to detect all 3 SCSI drives without the driver for the LSI 1030 Ultra SCSI adapter.
I'm just a little surprised how simple this is, usually you have to supply the additional driver...

So I have searched around and none of the solutions worked, but let me get to the basics:
DFI LanPark DK 790 FX Motherboard
3.2 GHz AMD Athlon X2 64 bit processor
4 GB DDR2 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS Video card with 720 MB Ram
Hard drives:
Western Digital Raptor @ 70 GB (going to be used as the OS drive)
Western Digital Caviar @ 80 GB
Maxtor 120 GB IDE drive (the other 2 are both SATA drives)
Sony DVD R/RW Drive
using onboard audio
Okay so I am running a fresh, clean install (the only "information" is on the IDE drive, and that's my backup for iTunes and Steam) using the Windows 7 Ultimate DVD. The DVD kept hanging @ "completing installation", so I took it to my laptop, and using the instructions on here, made a bootable flash drive.I just tried completing installation from the bootable flash, and it still hangs at that step.When it hangs, it's in a locked up state.. I can't even press Shift + F10 (nothing happens). Also, the CD correctly makes the "System Allocated" section on the drive. Also, i removed all USB drives, and am running both a PS/2 mouse and keyboard.

So my 64bit fujitsu lifebook laptop has run into some crazy problems the last few days. Including freezing every several minutes for ages. BSOD a few times a day. Nothing along the taskbar opening. Task Manager making the whole screen turn black etc.I researched alot and tried many things, including chkdsk which just takes to long for it to be realistic (i judge it would take about 1 week to finish)That being said, i want to do a repair install of windows 7, but when i use my universal disc (which has 32bit and 64bit windows 7 on it) it returns the error after the compatibility check:
- You can't upgrade 64-bit Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 64-bit version of the installation disc, or go online to see how to install Windows 7 and keep your files and settings.
- 32-bit Windows cannot be upgraded to a 64-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 32-bit version of the Windows installation disc. is there a workaround for this? I know people can make a universal disc easily, so maybe there is a way to do this in reverse

I seem to be having an issue doing a fresh install of Windows 7 x64 Enterprise on a 40GB Intel 320 series SSD. My daughters CQ61 required a clean install after repair. Windows 7 jus goes through the normal install process and hangs at completeing installation. I'm not a Noob but not a Geek either. I can only assume the drive is fine as it is running fine in the T400 IMB i am using now. Now here is the strange bit..... When i was just starting out i to had a CQ61 and it too needed a clean install and it did the same for months with friends in th know looking and trying to. In the end i send off for the factory software discs and tey went on straight away with win7 working fine. It was literally restored to new. I passed on said disks when i sold said CQ61 adising the guy never to go down the road i had. Now the software discs are no longer available from HP and There is none on torrents anywhere. I cannot accept that this is the only way to install clean install. If it was that critical to have the discs they would send them out with the new machine. So thats muti attempts by multiple people on 2 identical machines presenting the same hang. One was solved with the Sowfwaredisks provided by HP and are no longer available. Should have copied them i know but never thought i would be looking down the same barrel of the same gun.

Best Buy lost my copy of MS Office 2003 professional Edition 2 years ago. They gave me MS Office Professional 2007 Upgrade and installed it for on my computer. My computer's hard drive has failed and I purchased a new one yesterday. I need to know how to install my MS Office Prof 2007 Upgrade without a previous version installed on the new PC. There must be a way since Best Buy did this for me last time.

I have Dell inspiron Model laptop with window 7. Whenever I install new window 7 in my laptop, first of all it works rightly, then after some days when i use window media player with other application or software, its speed gets slow and it hangs. After that it shuts down and whenever i want to start it, it starts with recovery set up. This recovery setup runs all the day but have no any effect or not start. So what would be the reason?
