Install .net Framework After Running UN-installation Tool?
Dec 27, 2009
I was having problems with the .net framework, whenever I open a .net application it just crashes, and Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 isn't working too well either.I ran the windows 7 .net framework uninstallation tool, and it said all versions are successfully removed, and now i'm trying to reinstall it, but it's telling me to use the 'turn windows feature on or off' to configure the .net framework.I tried doing that, but the .Net framework wasn't there. I tried opening the installer again, and it says i have to use the 'turn windows features on or off'.

I have windows 7 ultimate x64 and I have been trying to install microsoft .NET Framework 4. However, every time I try, it always fails. It gets about halfway through the installation and a window pops up asking for me to open the location of an .msi that is not there. It's not in the setup fies and its not in the location that is given. Here is a screen cap of the installation and the window that pops up asking for the .msi file.

I am running Win.7 64 bit and need Net Framework 1.1 to run Print Shop 23. Net.Framework won't install because of 64 bit. I have done a lot of research and found out how to do it. Create a new folder named DotNetin C: drive (C:DotNet is used in this guide, you can change to any folder you prefer, but ensure that you use correct path in the following steps). Download Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Redistributable Package (dotnetfx.exe ). Make sure the setup file is saved asdotnetfx.exe . Download Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 (NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe ). Make sure that the file is renamed and saved asdotnetfxsp1.exe , so that the rest of the steps can be followed easily. Move both installation files into the same directory (i.e. C:DotNet), if youre not saving them together. Open command prompt as Administrator . Change to the directory where the two installation setup files for .NET 1.1 are saved (i.e. C:DotNet). Run the following commands one by one, press Enter after each one. dotnetfx.exe /c:"msiexec.exe /a netfx.msi TARGETDIR=C:DotNet" Then click on Yes when prompted to answer would you like to install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1. Package? dotnetfxsp1.exe /Xp:C:DotNet

My problem is that I cannot get the .NET framework 4 to install for anything. On Friday night I began installing Sharepoint Server 2010. I had a lot of problems getting Sharepoint to install since I'm on Windows 7. I ended up having to download the EasyScript on MSDN which appeared to finally work by installing all the prerequisite files that were needed. However, it installed Visual Studio 2010 Trial on my machine which then prompted SQL Server 2012 to ask for the Visual Studio SP1 before it would run. Thus begins all the frustrations that have haunted me this entire weekend. I cannot get VS 2010 or SP1 to install for anything. It is giving me an error every time (error code 643 - .NET 4.0). I have tried everything I can think of at this point.

At that time i had net framework 4.0, the program i required to install was nessesary for my school and i spent a lot of effort installing net framework 1.1, which was not an easy task. it wasn't possible installing it a normal way, and i ended up going in Comand Prompt as administrator and fixing 2 installations at the same time or something like that. Can not recall it very well. The net framework 1.1 required updating and at the start of my computer booting it would generally ask me Accept of Decline the update possibility. This request has disappeared. I noticed when i would accept the update it infact wouldnt update anything and would not let me install anything cause it was apparently bizzy with updating.
This issue has now worsen over time, it does not ask me if i accept the update at allNow i cannot install or uninstall any programs, i have tried too install Java, and ableton. both failed, when i want too install something it says i do not have enough disk space. The same thing happens when i want too uninstall a program it says make sure u have enough disk space. i have 193 GB out of the 284 GB, i think i would have enough space for Java

I was searching pictures with Google and accidentally got directed to the not-so-secure site that showed a pop-up window saying something about that "rogue" MS Removal Tool program. Pop-up had only OK button and close function at the top corner. After considering I didn't press neither and closed Google Chrome using task manager. I restarted my computer several times to determine to if I got the infection, but apparently I dodged the bullet this time.Is it possible for MS Removal Tool to install itself using only pop-up or does it require install before it can activate itself and wreck havoc?

Have an HP G70-463CL that refuses to install some updates.Discovered SP 1 has not been made available or installed. Tried the manual install of SP 1 from the MS website and it fails and tells me to "Check for Update Readiness Tool" Downloaded that tool and attempted to execute it and it also fails. The readiness tool reports "Installed encountered an error: 0x8007000d, The data is invalid".The Laptop originally came with Vista and later a Win 7 x64 DVD was supplied, and was upgraded about a year ago. We noticed there was two C++ Security updates that have been trying to update everytime the PC is turned off since JUNE 2011.how I can get the readiness tool to work? If I cannot make the tool work I know I have no chance of installing 46 missing secuity updates.

I reinstalled windows 7 a few weeks ago and everything went well and its running really fast and never crashes or anything but SP1 just will not ever install. I tried disabiling my antivirus, installing it without any other updates, downloading it off the Microsoft site and installing it manually, going into troubleshooting in the control panel for the updates and it did some checks and said it repaired some update stuff but it did nothing and I tried the update readiness tool. It installed and did a scan and said it fixed some stuff but it didn't fix my problem. Here is the log from the update readiness tool. I searched around on how to understand the log but couldn't really find much so hopefully one of you can help. I did download and copy the KB2633952.msu file into the CheckSUR directly like it says on the Microsoft site to fix the unavailable repair files. [code]

Any attempt to download and install this tool results in " This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel."
I do not get this error with any other program I attempt to run, or download and install. I need to create a bootable usb drive or dvd to do a upgrade repair of my 7 installation. My original windows 7 DVD does not contain SP1. I have downloaded the SP1 iso and just need this too to work.

Reading around, it seems like everyone seems to have issues getting updates to install. This is on a freshly installed copy of 7 Pro x64 SP1.And here it fails later (it only tries to install 3 updates. the Update readiness tool spends awhile using a single core of my computer to install only to fail)DIT: UPDATE: after trying over and over, looks like the update readiness tool finally installed! I didn't change anything... really strange.

Per microsoft I need to do try a repair install from original disk. Is there a difference between running repair install from Windows or booting from original disk then selecting upgrade install? Is one or the other preferred? Directions say both attempt to preserve installed programs, but not all drivers, and both require reinstalling all the 60 or so windows updates released after my disk. so no differences there.

First, my laptop is a Aspire 5250-BZ853. I received it back in October, I think...may've been earlier. But anyhow, it was working just fine yesterday until I did a Windows Update. I had to restart, and it was fine again. But then it began running sluggishly slow, and just terrible overall so I restarted it once more and that was when the problems began.
This entire day, this has been driving me nuts. I have important files on here, and I backed up most on my external harddrive a bit ago but there were a few I missed and hadn't the chance to get (ironically enough the most important, papers and such.) At first, it said my password was wrong -- as if someone had changed it! I restarted it once more, thinking it an error or something, and did that again so I restarted it again. Finally, it worked but I think it logged me in as safe mode somehow. After that, it restarted on its own and began this loop. I did a LOT of searching on Google until finally someone suggested to someone else to try pressing "ALT + F10" I think it was as it was starting, and finally I made progress. Before that, it was just going into a constant rebooting loop and I couldn't even log into safe mode. Trying to reset it back to a time it was working was futile, because it said there was no recovery time there! So that shot that idea down. At last, I got somewhere.as well. I clicked the reset to factory settings, but still keep all the files (and they would be saved to "C:Backup" and I thought it had finally worked. But now as it reinstalls, I got an error saying something about how it needed to restart or something...so when I clicked "okay" it began again, and finally it all just came to a stop on "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation."

My wifes machine has been running increasingly slowly, and I thought that I would reinstall the OS, and take the opportunity to upgrade to Windows 7 from XP. I carried out the analysis and the results suggested that it would be OK to upgrade.I have done the upgrade, and in a system that has the bare OS and nothing more, it is running agonisingly slowly - can anyone suggest what I should do to find out why? It could be that the system is not powerful enough to operate - it has the following:
143GB storage (97GB free after the install)
Intel Celeron 2.93 Ghz chip
2 GB RAM
