I just got the windows ultimate 7 64 bit disc from Microsoft the other day. I have been trying to install it on my computer and everything goes well until the second reboot. At this point the computer freezes at the windows 7 splash screen. The 32 bit version installs perfectly without any problems.
I've recently built my first gaming PC and am having trouble installing windows 7 ultimate. Whenever I try to boot from the cd, it loads the Windows 7 files, then freezes on the first screen of the install wizard Unlike this image however, I have no cursor and there seems to be no response to keyboard input. This is in contrast to when I open the BIOS menu and both mouse and keyboard work[CODE]
I bought a new Desktop PC and it has the win 7 30 day trial.I need to install my Win 7 ultimate 64bit to my PC, deleting the 30 day trial. ( I need to know how to start the setup when the PC is booting up, most importantly)
I've build a computer and want to install windows 7 x64 on it. But when I start the setup I allways get a bsod: Most of the time with this error: 0x00000124. I also had these: 0x0000007F, 0x0000009C, 0X0000007E, 0x0000000A
These are my specifications: Mobo: MSI P45 Diamond CPU: Intel core 2 Quad Q9650 3GHz RAM: Kingston HyperX (KHX1600C9D3K3/6GX), I've put in 2 X 2GB in slot 1 and 3 atm. HD: 1 Maxtor I, 1 Maxtor II (tried seperatly, no success) Graphics: Powercolor radeon HD 6850 PCS+ PSU: OCZ ModXstream Pro, 600W
The files are loaded from the DVD, then I see the windows logo. After that I usually get a BSOD. Right before I have to do the settings and create partitions. Very rarely I can get past it and start the installation, but then a blue screen comes up anyway. When I try in Safe mode, it loads drivers until driver.sys. Then it just stops.
Right now, I've put only one memory stick in (2GB) and I tested it with memtest86+, there were no errors. I also checked the hard drive for errors. I was able to successfully install windows 2000 professional. I also tried to install Windows XP, but that didn't work either. Could it be my graphics card? If so, what can I do about it. I don't have onboard graphics.
i know my computer is 64 bit windows compatable. At the moment i have windows 32 bit installed, as my computer crashed and i needed to do a fresh install of windows and installed the 32 bit version by mistake. I have a copy of the 64 bit windows and am trying to install it, however it keeps freezing on computer restart. I put the disk in and it installs all the necassary files, but when it restarts, it hangs on the "windows 7" screen, i just get the white writing on a black background but teh swirly things dont show up and i have to turn it off. What can be causing this as i need to install a 64 bit version so i can run the new preimer pro. (CS6
I'm trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit onto my blank harddrive via usb that was setup with the microsoft application for doing so.
It adds new windows files to about 80% then give me this error: Code: Windows cannot install required files. The file does not exist. Make sure all the files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070002 Phenom x4 9850 6GB ram nvidia 9800gt seagate 7200rpm 750gig baracuda 460W PSU m2n78-la viola
I encountered an error that stated:windows can not be installed to this disk the selected disk has an MBR partition table on EFI systems, windows can only be installed to GPT disks."

clean install to mechanical not SSD so you can use ASUS software once WIN 7 installed to merge them with the "Marvell 9128 6GB port"...Regarding BIOS funnily enough I have seen images of the UEFI BIOS in forums with all 8 ports on the deluxe in SATA configuration in advanced settings however mine only shows six (and no duplicate for UEFI like other images of UEFI i've seen"?and I have updated the UEFI BIOS to the latest version..
Just got a question regarding D2 - LOD expansion. Here's what happened, I downloaded the game, installed the game. All good then I mounted the Expansion image via Daemon Tools, had no success. It's not accepting / won't run the image and gave me an error. I got freaked out. System froze and there's nothing that I can do aside from pressing the "reset" button. Is my OS compatible to the game? I got a broken file on my OS (OS issues) or the image itself is corrupted?
I tried installing Windows 7 64bit on my home computer yesterday. I kept getting a problem with it freezing in step 5 of the installation. I tried redoing it a couple of times and it always froze at the same point. I noticed that the mouse did not respond when it froze so not sure if I should try unplugging it.
Can I upgrade from Windows ultimate 32bit ver 6.1 ( build 7600) to windows 7 ultimate 64bit edition and keep all of my installed programs and files ?[meaning not having them moved to a new folder called windows.old]

I am running Windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron 17R laptop. Inside the program "Dell Support Center" it tells me that BITS - Demand Started to Auto Started. I don't know what BITS is. It runs in the System Services. Should I disable the BITS?
I went through the installation process of Windows 7 Professional once, and then it began the process again after completing (I think) the first time. I am installing on a new, blank, hard drive on a Compaq Presario C700. I am currently back to the "Where do you want to install Windows?" page. The first time I had no partitions to select. Now I have two, the first says "Disk 0 Partition 1: System Reserved." The second says "Disk 0 Partition 2."
On a random basis Windows 7 freezes for about 2 minutes, then proceeds with the activities in normal fashion. The operating system and software is on a Solid State Drive while everything else is on a hard drive. I have troubleshooted all the normal suspects but cannot find the reason for the temporary freeze.
I am sorry to bother you but my PC whose OS is Windows 7 Ultimate x86 froze on the 'welcome' screen today! I freaked out and tried everything I could to make it work, but I couldn't. It only runs under Safe Mode which is making me go crazy. I already tried Start Up repair and obviously didn't work!
I have an acer aspire one d255 and recently used a anytime upgrade key and got windows 7 ultimate it worked for a couple days now when i turn my computer on it goes to a black screen and freezes after the welcome screen cant go into safe mode or desktop and takes longer than normal to get to the welcome screen?
I got the upgrade ultimate win 7; i am upgrading to 64 bit from xp pro 32; as directed i am going with the clean install; my system is already partitioned; at first i jus loaded the disc and change my start up to boot from disk and it would freeze at expanding files tried 3 times and all froze at different %s; after reading a few blogs i disconnected all usb's, multi card reader, all other disc drives and only kept the one running this disk; took out my 2x1GB RAM and left the 2x2GB to only run one channel;i did leave my usb mouse (Logitech MX revolution) and had to connect my key board for a sec when I had to tell it to start win normally since I interrupted boot, but disconnected again; after all this the upgrade seemed to be going awesome i selected my the partition with XP already to wipe out (150GB) and went all the way to completing installation and it froze! so i restarted after 1 hr of waiting and let it run all the way to booting from HDD and error came up saying installation not complete, restart to complete but it just keep coming up, so i started from scratch and now i froze again at expanding files..
A month ago I started experiencing random system freezes (system halts for ~30sec and then resumes to work normally). I thought it was my Windows 7 going insane, so I did a clean install, but the problem is still present. I read somewhere that SP1 might be the cause, so I haven't done an update to SP1 this time - but the problem remains.
I try to start up windows after entering my password at the screen it loads for a while then i am faced with my desktop background and icons show up. If i move my mouse cursor to the bottom taskbar to click start it has the loading circle. If i click anything on my desktop that wont work either. i tried several things but i dont want to fresh install as i have tons of data and files that i need to keep otherwise i would have just went ahead with the fresh install. The things i tried were
1. tried system repair, but i get this "windows cannot repair this computer automatically"
2. I just tried sfc/scannow and I got the following message: There is a system repair pending which requires a reboot to complete. Restart windows and try sfc again.
3. i then did the scanow offline command i found it said scanning and then after 20 min i get this "SFC Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation FIX''
4. Memory tool but i can't see results because as soon as i sign in it freezes
5. ctrl, alt ad del dont work screen goes black then i wait till a message pops up and click enter then it brings me back to the desktop
6. i scanned pc with avg and malawarebytes no viruses.

every time I boot Windows 7 64bit it slows down for about 2 seconds, then freezes, except for the mouse. Nothing will recover, and this happens within a few minutes of boot up. I don't know what to do, I need things to try
My friends pc has windows 7 ultimate 64 bit with 2 gb ram.it runs too much slow.it has an intel core 2 duo processor. Is it good to have an 64 bit os with just 2 gb of ram? I think this thing is the culprit causing the computer to run slow.
System was fine. Started it up this morning and all my sound was gone. I've re-installed the Asus drivers 50x. Tried the same in Safe Mode. I am using an external speaker set-up. They are Altec Lansing speakers. They have a powered sub and left and right main speakers and also left and right rear speakers. I don't have the rear speakers connected and I haven't for years(without issue).Anyway, booted up this morning and I have no sound from Windows, the internet, or my music or movies.
I am a little annoyed that after buying 2 games from EB Games today, Aliens V's Predator and Apox, they both need "Steam" to install properly. I have installed steam and it tells me that i have no internet connection. I have a wireless internet connection and steam does not pick it up at all. i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, i have down loaded the latest steam from the web site and i still get the same problem.
I'm planning to replace the 32-bit OS with 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate. This laptop can support 8GB as mentioned in the catalogue. I guess the processor i5-430M is the first generation processor. I'm getting two 4GB RAM modules fairly cheap with same speed specifi'x.
I've no plans to trade off this laptop because its a rare "breed" - Made in Japan by Fujitsu and after 2 years of service it still runs extremely well.
Which Antivirus For My 64 Bit Windows 7 Ultimate ?As i Had Quick Heal Total Security 2010 64 bit . But After Trying to Install The Quick heal It shows error and Does not Install completely. Is There Virus Which Is Disallowing The Antivirus to Install.
I've been trying install Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit on my Compaq Presario F700. It came with Windows Vista (Don't know which version). It then became corrupted, so I installed Ubuntu 10.10 on it, then I DBANed it, Now it won't install Windows 7. It says that Bootmgr.exe is missing. I tried a repair disk, I tried the bootrec (don't know if i'm doing it right).
I changed my OS to Window 7 Ultimate 64 Bit, no I can`t run left 4 dead in my system! when I trying to start left 4 dead, a message said application Stop working!
I have upgraded from 32 bit Windows 7 to 64 bit Windows 7, and I've been having problems with it. After a while, a program would freeze, then everything else would freeze. I have checked for viruses, chkdsk, sfc /scannow, memtest86+, defragged updated my graphics drivers, etc, until I finally re-installed. The problem still persists, but it's not as dominant, but it is preventing me from working properly. I feel it's kinda obvious that something is activating it (but still random) but I don't know what.
